I picked up some of the trade paperbacks (right term I'm looking for?)
It was like right around when Atom Eve was hefty and her and Invincible moved into his mom's house (after she was taken off Earth by his father). I've ready pretty much everything from that point. I couldn't find anything earlier so I'm okay with not knowing what has happened up to that point. I'm liking where the story is at now, though I am missing the regular invincible we all know and love.

I can't wait till tomorrow when I go pick up my pull... Based on what I saw earlier in this thread, I should have Batman #13 waiting for me, as well as a few others...

Picked up Batman #13, Ultimate Comics Spiderman, Ultimate Comics Iron Man (idk if this is something lasting), Invincible Iron Man part 5 and 6 of the current story arc...
I missed out on Uncanny Avengers, but I added it to my pull for next month... Haven't gotten a chance to read them yet, been cleaning up my room..

You gotta be careful, it's not Ultimate Iron Man, its Ultimate Comics Iron Man, in the same vein of Ultimate Comics the Ultimates, Spider Man (Miles Morales), etc..
The first issue did not have similar pieces as the Ultimates Tony which is a little weird, since they're in the same universe. Also it has the a cover similar to an comic cover I've seen before.
I managed to read Batman #13 last night, and let me tell you. That issue got dark at several points. And the entire time, I was reading it in Mark Hamill's voice (ala good joker voice).
It was sooooo good

I know, I understand... the only reason why it's still important to make that distinction is that there is still an Ultimate Spider-man still in circulation, starting Peter Parker.

Saw the first episode of Arrow yesterday. You know, for a tv show about Oliver Queen that isn't the first 3 minutes of Justice League Unlimited is was pretty good. And he calls his sister Speedy.
The first Batman & Robin TPB was great. I never thought we would get such a great dynamic from Bruce and Damien after I had so much time with Dick as Batman.
Anyone else reading Haunt? The first 3 TPBs were nice, but the 4th had a new team and a radical shift in tone and seeting which I'm not sure I like.
I read the first 12 issues of Haunt. I couldn't get into it for some reason. Did you pick it up because of MacFarlane? Haven't seen you express much interest in Kirkman before. I suggest Invincible much more over Haunt. What's happened since #12?
My brother picked it up because of McFarlane. It was cool most of the time, though the violence level was a bit ridiculous.
McFarlane and Kirkman are now both off the book. This has happened since then:
Spoiler:
Daniel is hunted by some sort of radical church, armed with holy magic and high tech. Seems a bit manga-ish to me. And then there's this new guy who's some sort of 70s secret agent ghostbuster. No bad ideas really, but it doesn't mash very well with the established world of Haunt.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Punisher MAX: Frank was weird. Apart from the fact that Steve Dillon still can only draw one face he uses on every character, I really didn't like the story.
Spoiler:
I can live with the concept that Frank was a very violent guy before his family was killed, but in this comic we learn that he was completly distant and couldn't bring himself to love them. His home is compared to a prison. It's just such an extreme new take on his backstory.

Well, I finally broke down and started picking up IDW's TMNT classic collection. I never read them before so this is something of a long-in-coming treat. I'm really enjoying them so far. Although they have a very intimate tone, I find myself wanting more depth and characterization. I can really see how this was fertile ground for a franchise that is still going strong.
There's a bit of a drag in the first half of the 2nd volume, but I really enjoyed the old stuff. The action is great and I love that every isse seems to have at least 3 splash pages.
So this past weekend, we ended up at one of the relatively local shops, I got to thinking that I wanted to get some Joker comics, but being unsure of which series bring out the darkest, most twisted Joker, I ended up getting another comic.
I think it was a pretty sweet pickup, I got the Metal Gear Solid Omnibus.
For those who collect them, what are some of the darkest, most twisted and sick Joker series that I should look at?
A lot of critics seem to agree with that sentiment. I've often wondered what the fuss is about. I never got into Vertigo titles, not even Sandman. But I feel like I'm missing something despite my lack of interest.
Vertigo and Image is almost all I read now. Never really liked DC and Marvel took a dump in my mind. And I also am not speaking from current issues. Im still playing catch up from being poor in college the last couple years. Finished a re read of Fables last month. Vertigo again but I love those books.

Story over continuity and capes, pretty much. If you want a monthly
sock em' up, Marvel/DC are just fine, but Preacher is what got me started
reading Garth Ennis, and Transmetropolitan got me reading Warren
Ellis.
The first Sandman storyline tries to exist in a world of capes. It gets much better
after that.

Haha, man, I just remember the heart and the betrayal, but now that you mention
the vileness it all comes back. Thanks, now I got images in my head.

Considering I havent checked out Marvel in over a year is there anything good that Ive missed? I was never a big flagship line fan besides X men, which I read New X-men up to about 150 and I love the original run of Exiles. One of the best Marvel series in recent time in my opinion.
