Yep Lt Ed and probably going to be slightly pricy but I've got a new contract which should last me a while.

Well I haven't been posting for ages as I'm working at my parents and didn't bring my paints down. I'm also starting another away job (in either Northamptonshire Cambridgeshire or Cornwall I find out on Monday when I turn up to the office. Archaeology is fun like that) So I won't be painting regularly for ages. However I have been able to indulge myself slightly and I've got that Sherlock Holmes model. They've also got a lovely John Watson in the same style. This will be my first boutique Resin miniature and I'm rather excited.

The model was waiting for me last friday swiftly dispatched and I really should get round to photographing what comes in the package.

Exactly what I want for my Vanus assassin

Finally got another finished model for this lot. It's a Praetorian that's been on my desk for a couple of months now.

I've also won some Rackham Griffin Duellists giving me some more awesome Death Cult asassins. Considering adding the vehicles to this army. I'm almost certainly going to go down the Old Crow route and there are some Void figures which will do well. I'm also tempted by the thought of a 15mm Dreamforge Leviathon as a Dread Knight.

The old void vehicles - ronin - would do your needs well as chimeras, and the tiger apc as a land raider.

My eyes are actually on some of the walkers as Psycannon Dreads. The Ronin's certainly an interesting option though. Keep meaning to go on the Dreamforge Games Kickstarter to pre-order a Leviathon as well.
You should recognise this guy Graven. Have to admit he was in my Beastmen painting pile for a while but I had an idea for a story and so rebased him to join the forces of order.

Faulker the Defiled was a young exuberant priest of the Emperor until he came into contact with Chirax. Von Grimme required a man with a pure soul to undertake some research for him in the forbidden vault at St Gortymudes. Unknown to Faulker the rites to enter included a binding oath of silence placed upon him by a Psyker. He was allowed to recover certain tomes for Von Grimme but only he is allowed to read these volumes and he must carry them at all times. A hideous burden for such a young man.

Grigor is a foolish young man utterly obsessed with fame and fortune he entered the Arenas of Hrin. The brutish son of a second class vending machine mechanic he has gradually found notoriety in the ring. His brutal sickle and claw have caused the defeat of many foes. When his master entered the Inquisitions service he brought him along. However he finds the lack of rewards and recognition of his services disconcerting and depressing.
I've found some old Cawdor gangers who will make great mooks for Inquisimunda as well as brought the Flagellant box set. The bodies for it might well find themselves in here and some of the parts definitely will.

Another of the survivors fron the XXVII Catachan Sniper Henderson has been seconded to Inquisitor Coteaz for five years now. He's gradually becoming more bitter about the fate of his comrades as he sees more and more of the corruption of the system they were sacrificed for. However his faith in the Emperor is still strong even as his faith in the Imperium declines. There is a difference between the two.

I've got the last Terminator counts as about too be based. I've got enough for a 1500 pt list on saturday. All infantry grey knights from a brand new army using an edition I've never played before what could go wrong!

Still haven't got a game in. I've managed to acquire some Pit Slaves which are currently getting bodged into crusaders.

And here's something else. It's an Empire handgunner with a minimal bodge on his blunderbuss to turn it into a special weapon (I'm currently planning to claim Plasma)

Ballasteer Llantyr was seconded to Inquisitor Vespasian from the 6th Silurian Regiment after the Monthax incident. The Radical Vespasian uses the jaded guardsman to interact with areas of Imperial Society who will not accept his more esoteric minions. Grim and grizzled this man is a born survivor with a notorious ruthless streak. His ornate Plasma Gun was created in the Forges of Siluria and is relatively normal for their weaponry.

Trenton Peak is one of the cultists of the Redeeming Fire unlike many of the cultists all he wields is a simple autogun. However a bit more muscle and fanatically loyal muscle at that is always handy. Trenton Peak however is notoriously neither a cowardly snivelling man whos usually response to a loud noise is to flee or open up with a torrent of fire. He does however have one useful talent he tends to survive and therefore has often provided a useful witness to events.

Grisk is a mutant a useful sinner his appearance has allowed him to infiltrate many foul covens of the ruinous powers for the master. Loyalist to the emperor it was his actions as an informant that allowed my master to break the back of the Brotherhood of Zod on Gethen III. For his loyalty my master rewarded him with a pardon for his sins and kept him and his clan safe from the purging. He knows if he ever fails the master his clan will pay the price. I still don't understand how my master can stomach this abomination regardless of his successes.

The Cultist is just a Cawdor ganger (I found a bunch I've had for years and decided they'd fit this well). The other is based on the Flagellant kit with Plaguebearer arms. Both of these are ideal fodder characters for skirmishes and Dark Heresy Sessions. I've been feeling like painting something less intense and not Epic for a while now.

A grizzled veteran of the Imperial forces horribly scarred by enemy fire during an evacuation mission on Tintheldras VIII Pilot Jackarn still managed to land and evacuate civilians while his face was being hideously burnt by bio acid. As tough as they come he was requested by Solomon Cortez to act as his personal pilot after impressing him with his many acts of selfless bravery during that hideous campaign.

This model came entirely from a trade with inmygravenimage. It's a pig iron head on an unknown model.

Speaking of a fanatic belief in the Emperor Praetor Laris is a priest of the church of the Imperator Resplendent the dominant cult on Grenadyin IV. My master investigated the cult for heretic leanings at the behest of Confessor Trintal. They came out pure which was more than could be said for the corrupt glutton of a Confessor. The investigation ended with my master leading the cult against the Ecclesiarchy after the Confessors relationship with the whores from a Slaaneshi cultists brothel came to light. This did not put him into the best odour with the Ecclesiarchy, although he is a hard man for them to get to with his links to the Mechanicus and personal power.

Miss Felicity Beadle is one of the Ancient Order of Black Librarians who work at the Inquisition's library on Hrin. These ladies are skilled assassins who specialise in the recovery of valuable books and their scholoarship as well.

Didn't get the editing quite right on these shots. Jebediah is a regular Cawdor ganger and Miss Felicity Beadle is a stock Rackham Griffin Duellist. Praetor Laris is based on the Severian model from the Rackham Griffin Templar Warstaff. However I gave him a GW head from the hairy head sprue and a Rogue Trader Bolt Pistol. The sword came from the Tzeentch Sorceror I used for the Pimp my Wizard competition. The original intent as to paint him as a radical Inquisitor but as I began to paint him I realised I wanted to try a fire effect on the sword and the Solar priest from the John Blanche art work seemed to justify that.

I like your choice of models. I think using lighter colors before washes might be good though.

Thanks Kestral choice of models is the main fun of this. It's became about painting random awesome models as my interest in playing 40k wains with my rising obsession for Net Epic.

Henson is another of the Gladiators a skilled /retiarius he now specialises in the capture of dangerous subjects for interrogation. An invaluable skill for which the master pays a bonus. His most famous capture was that of the infamous Slaaneshi worshipper Misspiggi of Holy Wood. She was tried and exeuted for her many and manifold crimes. Her punishment was a rather bizarre one being fed to the giant green man eating frogs of the jungles of Holy Wood. In recognition of this kill his master purchased a helm for him resembling one of those monsters

That blue is very nice indeed!

The light blue is my own blend Vallejo Game Colour Ultramarine Blue with some skull white added. So sadly I won't be able to necessarily get the same shade again. It's the nice thing about these guys though any real attempt at a unified force went out the window so I can just pick colours I feel like painting. Although it might appear on a few Tzeentch Daemons for Epic.

Might have to look for a better scab red replacement the coverage on the Vallejo equivalent is nowhere near as good. The Zulu head on the Interceptor suit is because I can and don't particularly see populous 40k planets being the single race mono-cultures they're often portrayed as. Planets are big places and will often have distinct populations.

"Theosophilus Benet was an Enginseer assigned to the 56th Arigytian until they went heretic one of the few who stayed loyal him and a dozen others managed to raise the alarm and alert other forces to the threat before the planned rebellion and breaking of an Imperial Defense Line against the Tau could go ahead. Apparently the Tau had bribed the Arigytian commanders with others of techno-arcana and immense wealth. Naturally no true son of the Adepts Mechanicus could countenance such actions. The regiment was purged, sadly during the carnage a Tau assault did breach the line but fortunately an alert Imperial Armoured Brigade quickly counter attacked and restored the defenses. The bloody stalemate on Tyros continues to this day.

It was what this time two years ago I decided to do the Imperial Assassins wasn't it! Hmmmph. unsure about the dodging pose to be honest it was a twisted repair and part of me rather likes the look.

Thought I'd share this can anybody guess where I got the spell effect from?

Dryastilo Des Durden is another of the Gladiator band. The Dryastilo fight with two swords and represent the Eldar in the games. Durden is swift and graceful with his blades born into slavery he has known no life by the pit until the band was hired by the master. His is a life dedicated to the blade.

Sorry for the picture quality. He's just one of the Mordheim pit fighters done as is. Colours were designed to represent Iyanden as it's the nearest Craftworld to the Eastern Fringe.

Another AM heavy Praetorian (counts as GK Terminator)

Decided to do a mid year review on all my active blogs with this one the aim is to play some games. I've now got a fun and interesting Ad-Mech Iquisitorial force to play with along side my Imperial Guard. I need to start biting the bullet and playing 6th which I've played only three games of on one day with Orks uhh Epic Addiction.....Nuff said. Another possibility is challenging people at the society to play a few skirmish games as I have several nice warbands in this eclectic force. I particularly like the idea of playing games with the Dark Scribe style force. Modelling wise I've been playing with several things including some old Necromunda models, a Flagellant box (excellent for Inquisimunda stuff) and some Griffin Duellists the first of which I've shown. Hot Ninja Librarians make me happy. This force will do quite well out of a new job as once I'm paid I'll be allowing myself back on Ebay as well as that I'll be away working and while I will bring paints and models with me taking Epic Miniatures with me seems likely to lead to lost models (and I paint them to fast so I'll need to bring too many to be viable). These models are nice indulgences rather than a serious project so it'll probably continue. Vaguely crazy plans include Inquisitorial Stormtroopers based on either the Eisenkern or Wargames Factory models and a Knight based on the Leviathon Mortis as I want one I do's. Another odd twist would be using Enforcer based Skitarii, Forge Father Allies and possible some of the Deadzone critters might make some fun skirmish warbands as well. I could also do with some mutant antagonists as the best use I can see for a lot of these models is one of the Dark Heresy games.

Just realised these plans don't include the obvious thing to make this an effective army transport vehicles. This is also what plagued the 24th Islandlwanda and means they're not finished. The problem I have is I like variety and making new stuff repeating the same thing again and again while it makes for good list design is less exciting to me. The other problem is cost I can't quite justify buying three or four Chimeras or Razorbacks at once. The other factor is that for Imperials rebuilding Ebay write offs is far more tricky than for chaos and Orks and I don't particularly enjoy it.

The force is probably of playable size it's just I can't justify playing a bad Grey Knights list. Actually it might be more fun to use the ally rules and play IG with A-M support.
