Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Hmm... the designs are nice, but I'm not a fan of the way the top sticks out over the edge.

Lovely painting, though.

The only problem with a lot of the MAS bases is the fact that they're so tall though!

In a game that has a STRONG reliance of 'true' LOS... this can be a bit problematic!

How hard would it be to shave down the bottoms a few millimeters to put them at a standard height? MAS bases are gorgeous, but excessively tall.

I presume that lettering on the 'warehouse' bases is just paint? A shame, coz most of us are terrible at painting lettering.

Free idea to any base manufacturers: make some urban/industrial bases with engraved lettering - i reckon they'd sell well.

Welcome to Micro Art Studio’s Wolsung Steampunk Skirmish Game!
For the last two years we have been working on a skirmish game based on the world of Wolsung: „Steam Pulp Fantasy“ roleplaying game. We’re now just giving it some finishing touches and the game is ready to be enjoyed by gamers all around the world. Almost all of the miniatures are ready but we still need to print the Rulebooks and manufacture the laser-cut terrains.

Overview of the Game:

Wolsung SSG is set in the world which is similar to our world in the turn of nineteenth and twentieth century but filled with magic, steam-powered machines and fantastic creatures such as Elves and Dwarves. The game focuses on the city of Lyonesse – the Pearl amongst cities – and adventures of its residents - Extraordinary Ladies and Gentlemen. In the game, players control clubs made of a few such characterful personalities and their servants, to fight for fame and fortune.

Why do we need your contribution:

After the division of the company the Wolsung SSG project slowed down a bit, because we weren’t able to fund everything at once: beautiful graphics, minis, website, the layout of the rulebook and lasercut terrains. We expect that the money gathered on IndieGoGo will help us to speed up the production process – we would really like to have everything done for Essen Spiel 2012 – and let us work on the first big addition to Wolsung SSG – new clubs, new rules and even more fun!

What happens if we surpass our goal:

5000 dollars is enough for us to print the rulebooks and prepare the terrains, but we already have three new clubs which are almost ready to go, as well as the campaign rules and maybe (?) the rules for vehicles. That is a lot of content but we still lack the capacity to fund everything at once. That is why every dollar helps, and brings us closer to expanding the game and allow players to better explore the universe of countless possibilities and Extraordinary Ladies and Gentlemen – the world of Wolsung.

You can find more information on:

Ooh this looks nice! They have some great miniatures already and I wouldn't say no to some of those buildings.

I have had to do this before with bases, and IF you have a belt sander, its not a terrible task (makes sure to use a dust mask).

Without a belt sander, its a bit of work.

Interesting figures.

Not sold on the game, but I would like to get some of those guys for Empire of the Dead.

when are they going on general sale?

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

The minis look pretty good but oddly, their bases look terrible! lol

I'll be looking at this as it develops...

Guess we should keep all those "Wow 700 $ to the next stretch goal" and "still waiting for my package to arrive" posts out of a regular news thread and make this an extra thread. Okay?

That builder perk level in the Indiegogo project looks awesome. To bad I don't have the money to take advantage of it.

Nice infohub (helped by a nice paintjob).

The waste bins are too small for my taste - barely high enough to use as cover at all (unless mounted on a base of some sort) - they ought to be 50% bigger.

Infohub is good but, like Clang said, mostly down to the paintjob.

Waste bins instantly remind me of toast racks, they are even toast coloured!
