THAT is the one I am really after.

Micro Art Studio keeps teasing us with that image, and then releases versions that are close, so close!

And yet, so far...

I happen to own 22 of those 'guys standing next to it.' (Actually I only have 3 or 4 of that specific guy, but I have 22 of that range of minis... in resin...). Those were the original iron brotherhood figures, but for whatever reason, I don't think Hortwerth was very happy with them. I was able to order them because I contacted MAS directly and asked.

Still haven't built them though (something like 3-4 years later), lol

About to order some Iron Brotherhood myself, so nothing against microart.

However, for those with less spare cash, I'll suggest a look at Ramshackle Games figures, which seem very AdMech. No pics yet as my order's still in transit, but look at their website-- most figures £1.50 to £2.50, and a couple of figures definitely Cataphract type.

I am in no way related to any of the companies whose products I post, although I met the Micro Art people on the German fair/convention "SPIEL 2009" where they displayed one terrain prototype and I talked to them about it. Having a hotlink to "Tabletop Gaming News" helps in providing news

Tear off the back legs and it's the hand for a titan.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

while the sculpting is very nice on these bases, i don't see how they are actually practical for mounting a mini onto...
this is a problem i see with most aftermarket bases...

love the idea, and execution...
i just don't see any use for 'em, personally...

For models designed to fit it a 'slot' you can cut the slot off so there is nothing but a 'peg' under each foot. Then you drill a peg-sized hole in the custom resin base, fill it with some glue and Green stuff and push the model in.

For models designed to be on a 'flat' base with no slots, you put a blob of Green Stuff under the foot, superglue it and smoosh it to the base... or use pin if needed.

Both usually make it rock solid and easily painted.

All these 'bug' bases I see floating around... almost makes me want to make a 'nid army...

i use aftermarket bases on nearly ALL my minis, nkelsch...
i always have a pin in one of the mini's feet, 'cause i paint 'em seperate from the base...

what i'm saying is that with so many of the resin bases i see, they are overdecorated...
it's hard to make the mini "fit" onto the base...
a mini ends up looking like it is "floating" above the detail, instead of looking "anchored" into the scene...

with all the ridges, and organic curves here, the mini will have to be converted for the base, more often than not...
i do like the designs though...

cheers

Agreed, most of those bases are too cluttered and busy to mount anything properly. Especially their trench, biotech and power plant bases, which are ace, but unfit to mount minis onto.

I love those Power Plant bases above; but the only use I found for the ones I bought was as markers for specific rooms in Space Hulk missions - they look better than cardboard counters.

The Biotech bases are - with some exceptions - mostly fine though; I got a blister for various character models and could use all of them without much of a hassle.

Well, Battlefield Berlin has it in stock since about a week:
http://www.battlefield-berlin.de/shop/index.php?cat=WG138&product=MICRO_M00017
Guess, Micro Art have forgotten to put it on their own website, ask them.

Edit: Someone seems to have reminded them, it's online now:

Micro Art Studio has just released the first set of "Nezumi heads with Gas masks" usable as Skaven of the Clan Skryre or Clan Pestilens.
5 for 3.66 €. BTW if you like them: I suggested this product (and the Nezumi name, which is ratmen in Japanese mythology) to the boss of Micro Art on a game fair and he loved the idea.
