Actually today was great, finished all my exam marking in 7hrs of madness, then got an early Father's Day present to boot, which was a greenhouse and veg, plus pizza and beer.

There are skulls on the floor now too. I marked out all the toy logos with white paint, and now I'm puzzling over how to hide the ones on the walls. Hmm.

Nice to see the build coming together piece by piece. Good work on the marine and the ork. Looking forward to more.

if we may one future blessed day get a pic of these logos then i could say my two cents about how to cover them... alas... no mortal beeing has behold them... for now...

and i am with git here...that skullface was quite upsetting to look at when you think something pleasent about cakes might be here to be read as an update...^^

Lego grates visible (bottom centre - zoomable pic) and everything! Yes, those struts are going to get rivets. Because the answer to every question in the grimdark is more rivets and more skulls.

by the way... those smaller chambers... at ground level...? will they just be covered up or used? i smell the oportunity for small scale sences!

and now i have seen the logo...hmmm.... if you rivet the backside of that build... than just add armor plates and rivet them as well...

The chambers at the bottom: well, there's going to be more victims hanging up - I envisage the one with a door as a cell; I'm planning on having end walls that I can remove because, again, it's important to me that it be a fully playable piece of terrain. For that reason, the one on the other side won't have a mini-vignette (although I did think about it) - part of the reason stuff's so concentrated on the walls is to allow you to play through it. Also, remember that in the middle of the thing will be the sacrificial pit (which is also removable).

Also, I have a suitably demented idea. I'm going to cover the styrene struts with ~60 of the dragon maws (chaos gun barrels). Blame gits for (a) providing the bulk of them and (b) agreeing this is not a bananas idea.

The important thing though... is how exactly you pronounce the word "bananas". Do you say it like the narrator on Danger Mouse (ba-nah-nahs), or do you say it correctly (ba-naa-nahs)?? (naa as in "wax")

I went back to pg 99 to get caught up and I'm overwhelmed. I like the small pierces you've been doing, and the faces you're doing for your Space Marines are excellently done, great detail.

Thanks mate, that means a lot to me. Faces are for me a constant source of stress, so much appreciated. One of the test heads will be getting used in this project also.

And the the summoning. The Exorcist is about to make it to freedom, failing to heed the guardsman's girlish screams...

The SM has a mauled right arm that you can't see, and will get aforementioned tester head. The pit is a separate piece but fits on the four centre squares of the base securely.


So, some progress! Hmm. Really need me some chaos black...

Prime black (acquired as part of Father's Day haul, along with selection of ales and fiendishly dark chocolates), then predominantly dark brass, obsidian spear tips, lumpy bits and some other metals elsewhere. Paint will happen anon, starting middle of next week (going to try to get a primer layer on tonight, and another tomorrow morning.
