Mostly, on my phone.

Group shot's a treat! That last head had me confused until I saw the other angle with them all together. Great job, and the blue really does set them off a treat. The only thing I would say is that it's a LOT of blue - maybe some checks would off set that?

The original 3 bikes came that way (got them at the very biginning of starting my ork army) & I've just beenpaining to match every since. I could do some bands of checks I suppose, break things up a bit.

I think I'll add in one more big choppa... because I like them & you can never have enough chain axes.

They look great! I can't believe you're apparently so far ahead on AdeptiCon prep that you can work on other projects, whereas I'm just starting

Well, I've been done for a couple of months save that we decided to shuffle lists around, giving me the extra FA slot, so I get to play with Necron bikes! It's really nice not to have to cram things in... I'm just paintin' away like normal. I'm really using these guys to avoid starting bigger projects that are looming on the horizon. These are the equivalent of procrastinating busy-work. But what the heck... they're my orksez!

My pleasure Cleatus, thank you!

They're actually pretty good (and really cool looking), they just get out-competed by other units for the FA slots. I'm excited about building them and will probably make them fixtures in future Necron lists.

Thank you very much shasolenzabi! I anticipate more work getting done this weekend. Bandana-head is probably going to get his own big choppa & I may start piecing together the figure I'm going to use for Wazdakka.

Mr. Bandanna-head get's a new big choppa today!

These are always interesting conversions as the big choppas are meant to be used two handed. Last one I did I just cut out one of the hands... making it a carbine of big choppas. This one I added in a section where the second had was. The ludicrous size of the thing works well with the ork mystique & balances out the rather large head on the biker nicely. I was even able to use the spiked pipe he was wielding to replace a broken & lost exhaust pipe.

Now on to painting!

Big choppa is about the same length as a standing nob. This should be about the same as the section I replaced was just the size of the hand I had to remove from the handle... perhaps just a smidge bigger.

@Cam & shas: Thank you gentlemen!

dsteingass wrote:I haven't posted here in awhile Gits, but You're churning out stuff to make the finest Mek proud! The Sombrero Boyz will be starting a Mariachi band soon I hope?

I don't think I have any more sombrero heads... but after finishing the one I may have to order some more. Make a good trukk mob, don't you think?

Anpu-adom wrote:I was trying to figure out how to use those big choppas. This works well.

In this particular conversion, there's a lot of pinning involved. There's one long pin running through the white section, then another long pin running through the ork's hand. Making a shorter big choppa (just by removing the second had from the choppa & reassembling it) works fine too as you can see in the shot below.
Spoiler:

What I think would look the best is a full sized choppa in a "choked up" position (i.e. the hand half way up the handle), however you'd have to cut out both hands and completely re-build the handle. While that's doable... it seems a bit more work than necessary.

Here's how it turned out. Kind of hard to set it up for a good photo because of the angle the choppa is held at.

Egg: You're not a nice person. It'll take me all night to get these back in their proper places.

This is what fits in the photo booth. Everything that's "finished" (I use quotes because nothing is every really finished in my army). Sorry for the blurry sections of the photo. Had to hand-hold the camera w/ the flash so the depth-of-field just isn't there.

Actually, the edges of the photo tent are pretty well defined by the figures. I Photoshopped the sides (which were white) to match the background.
