I never thought tyranids could actually seem edible until now... Ifalna it's quite an achievement! The only thing tastier looking would be if you actually casted one out of chocolate...

If anyone does try coming up with something fun in GIMP, let me see! You can pull off such wacko schemes and experiment so much, you almost always end up with something awesome..

Only thing I'd say, Ifalna, is you might want to consider moving the text in the sixth image - on the checkered background it seemed a little tricky to read.

I've occasionally played with block colouring the monochrome image - never even considered using layers to get that nice easy effect, or messing with the opacity to get fades

I cannot believe I haven't seen this thread earlier!
I LOVE those Tyranids, they remind me of poison arrow tree frogs. I agree a Chameleon Lictor would be awesome. Also I would love to see a Carnifex and Tervigon in those colours.

It's not that it takes longer per se, Tumblr just has really excellent image compression and sizing which I prefer using :( I'll keep in mind to try and get dakka pics up too.
Juggernaut rider is WIP, he's just not looking nice enough for shots yet That may change tomorrow!

I tend to upload to photobucket and then get the img url to upload to dakka, could you do something similar with your tumblr posts?

Took 3 layers of it to colour white. Unreal. It feels like a cheap acrylic, thick and shiny but no coverage.
I thought it was just me or a dud bottle but seems terrible coverage from it is quite common ¬_¬

Yeah, never really liked the idea of the new colours. Admitedly, Kabalite Green is useful for DE armour, but Incubi darkness, whilst is a beautiful colour, is just stupidly thin. Why on Earth would you make a 'base' colour thin?

Meh. I haven't had any problems with the new paints. Try giving them a shake, that usually works.

Try the P3 black (Thamar Black, without looking), Ifalna - that has pretty good coverage, as I recall. To be on the safe side, I do recommend adding an agitator to the pot.

I agree with Dysartes, the P3 black is cheap and really nice to use! I only use it now amongst my other paints! coverage is good and the paint just works well and feels right
