Yes. All the Imperial Navy units from Forge World are listed as elements of the Imperial Guard Codex.

No, Navy and Guard are technofluffically not the same, seperate branches of the Military. ALL fliers the guard use from the mass warp conveyance ships to the landers to the Valkyrie are all under Command of the Navy.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Only a Lord General (or Warmaster in times of Crusade) can command both branches directly (his only superiors are the Lords of Terra), the Navy is sworn to move the Guard wherever they need to go that isn't booted or tracked.

What I think he means is that the Imperial Navy count as Guard for ally perpouses, just like elysians, death korps, tallern, and renegades all count as guard for ally purposes

I am slowly building an all Imperial Navy force. This uses the IG codex for rules, but I am going with Navy Fluff. I don't know what kind of figures I'm going to use.

Well, whatever men you choose, they'll be in the navy.

After having tallied up all the entries (Thanks, folks!), tested them on various google Searches, I came down to TWO finalists:
1) Stormclaws
2) Stormvipers
Now, being an old-school Battlestar Galactica fan, I wavered toward Stormviper. A Google search turned up nothing of note, whereas "Stormclaw" is used fairly heavily invarious game mythologies and, of course, Tolkein.
BUT.
The original model is a "Stormtalon", and it just seems logical and right (talon == claw) to go with Stormclaws.
Graven, I have your address, I'll be sending you something nice in the post.
Thanks for all the entries!
Now, I have to figure out how to paint them... *sigh*

Technically, there is a rank of Captain, and you can be Captain of a ship.

So, I decided to take the plunge on two issues I have with my conversion:
1) The cockpit holder was too boxy. It just didn't soar, dammit.
2) The weapons pods were unusable in hover mode.
So, I put a fresh #11 blade into my X-Acto handle, and went to town.
And here's the result!
As for the weapon pods, I tried a lot of positions. Unfortunately, the easiest ones were in the back, off of the cockpit...which presents a game problem. Losing a good 5 inches of range really hurts. I mean, there's a reason all the guns on the Stormtalon are right up front! So, after a bit of trial and error...
NOW I'm happy with my Stormclaws.

Vitruvian XVII wrote: While technically awesome, i just cant bring myself to like it. Imo it still retains the squashed chibiness of the original.
Id be tempted to put the cockpit glass over the humped bit between the engines and add a tail, make it into a compact flyer, like a drone, but manned.
I considered this, but the way the cockpit glass is formed, the pilot can't see out. Nor does it match up with the lines of the rest of the body. IMHO, all of the Space Marine flyers suffer from "Chibi Syndrome".

Okay, Folks. I could use some ideas for what to paint the rest of my Imperial Navy force as. I am pondering the following:
1) More 'Blue Angels'. Build a while squadron of 'em. Not entirely keen on this.
2) Generic grey or other colors. Military paint jobs, weathered, etc. Workhorses of the ship.
3) Black or Cosmo Tigers from Star Blazers/Space Battleship Yamato. This is a black and yellow scheme, very striking.
4) ...?
Hit me.
