Interesting outfit - sort of quasi-cavalier/pilgrim fathers costume. So I'm guessing this is you in the 80s then.

So anyway...

This guy is ex-Flight Lieutenant Eugene Zebulon the third. He is a defector from the planet Zardoth V Planetary Defense Navy. He gets to fly Buck Rogers' ship.

Lieutenant Zebulon was at the terrifying battle of Nylar 6 where he disgraced himself by turning his craft around and flying away never to be seen again. He would no doubt be languishing in military jail but for the fact that every witness was destroyed by the rampaging chaos fleet. He still wears his uniform and flies his now heavily modified space interceptor. His greatest fear is that one day his noble and wealthy family will find out he is alive and a coward and will be disgraced in polite society.

He likes to drink spirits excessively before space combat to calm his jittery nerves.

The brat will be a little bit flamboyant because he just has to be. But I will try and bring what I've learned to the model rather than just painting him exactly like my other brat.

Rogue wolves this is an "iron claw" space pirate. Iron Claw models were sculpted by Bob Olley back in 1987-8. He had a different style from the others. Some of his minis are proper cool - others are very odd looking, many are both odd and cool.

The model might need some more detail - a splash of dirt and maybe some glowing LEDs on his gun? He needs just a little something to make him groovy.

I'm still amused I managed to mix up Bob Naismith and Bob Olley up in my mind when I was at the Mantic Open Day - no wonder Bob N was a bit confused when I asked about Scrunts...

Lol Dysartes - Don't you just hate those moments when one appears to others to be a loony due to a simple mistaken identity. When I was very young and stupid there was a teenager living down the road called Micheal Jackman, and after sitting listening to two Micheal Jackson fans talking about how much they loved his singing and dancing I went and asked Micheal Jackman what it was like to be a pop star and did he really used to be black? I was literally awed to have a famous singer living down the road. I like to think I've gotten more intelligent since then.

That's pretty good Valhalla all perfectly smooth and neat. I personally would recommend that you cover it all over (using a big soft brush) with watered down dark umber wash (devlain mud?). I always think vehicles look better with mud on them and yellow looks better dulled down a bit. Thanks for sharing.

Was wondering if Eugene was a reference too, but obviously not. Just me getting my nerd on

I was actually thinking of Zardoz when I called it Zardon. After all who could forget the man-kini look. But zebulon is just a coincidence, I picked it out of a list of old fashioned names.

I can think of a lot of situations where being young and ignorant but eager to express my opinion has got me into trouble. I think once when I was 6 and we were watching news about sectarian violence in northern ireland and I piped up and said "why can't the catholics and the prostitutes just get along" and my parents wouldn't explain why what I said was so funny.

Really great work on the leather on the latest chap, weety! I really like the model actually - the proportions are really odd, but have a great character to them. I think the background you've picked for him suits his expression to a tee!

Anyway, Bob didn't hear what I said properly, and I think he thought I was talking about grunts...

This is the first rogue trader model that I bought in my collection - Hacker Harris. He has a great pose - he looks like he is playing air guitar axe style.

I will call him Captain Günther Schulz. He is the current spokesman for the mercenaries, being as he has the most experience and kills and the best hair. He likes to think of himself as being the captain, and he is so long as he continues to be successful. The other mercs wouldn't hesitate to mutiny if his leadership falters however.
Günther enjoys bullsh*t macho posturing, unpleasant suprises(for other people) and telling exaggerated tales of his own greatness to a captive audience. Although he appears to be lightly armoured Günther has a secret force field device which has allowed him to cheat death many times and enhance his reputation. The others know not to get on his bad side as he enjoys playing dangerous practical jokes.
