Good to hear you're not dead, that's never fun. Hope you managed to snaffle some cool alien tech before they dropped you back off.

Looks like those brothers gonna work it out.

Looking sweet, lovely skin as usual, the green looking great against the purple.

I do actually have a sharp set of nails - cut myself now and again. But I need them for the blasted touch screen tills(give me a keyboard any day).

The secret to the delaques skintone is to add a little grey to the flesh wash - it gives a subtler effect - in fact thats the answer to a lot of subtlety in painting - add varying amounts of grey.

The aliens gave me the civ3 expansion pack 'Conquests'! Thats the real reason I haven't painted anything recently - that and some nights on the town, friends doing open mike nights etc. Some talented musicians out there who just didn't get lucky but haven't given up yet.

Diorama Update: Arrival of the bird

Is it a carrion crow or a raven - I can't decide.

Comes with handy grave marker / signpost. I might use that elsewhere in the scene.

Is it a vintage Rt era fig? He looks like he is wearing Empire (Landschnecht?) clothing? I love the giant hand-cannon and the purple and brown scheme is great!

He is a confrontation hive brat (early necromunda style game) dstein. But he does have fantasy empire arms because they go well with the rest of his getup.

Thanks for looking.

Whats next I wonder.

Those Empire arms go so well with his outfit, because he's a pretentious ganger who aspires to be considered one of the upper crust. He probably has a little status within his group, and can send others to do most of his dirty work, while pretending he's not a dirty, throat-slitting ganger. So he "puts on airs" and wears fine clothes trying to fit into a world that will never accept his brutish ways, but always reluctant to mention it to him.

I can see him chafing under his boss, always wondering why he himself isn't in charge, and forever scheming to rise to the next rank.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
He also wears the mask when he has to get his hands dirty, never understanding his pompadour and fancy clothes give him away.

We found civilization the board game in the second hand shop the other day. It has 780 plastic miniatures, or thereabouts. Going to try painting the ships! Also painting a squat today, it has been too long.

I didn't know that Civilization had a board game version. Hmm...I may have to go play Civ 4 Gold now. You've reminded me that I haven't played it in a long time.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

I didn't know either till I saw this - I bet it takes a while to play though (just like the real thing!)

Freshly minted new-look squat. I've got a few squats left to paint - heavy weapons and bike. They will be painted like this. I may strip some of the other painted squats and re-do them.
