I am using 32mm for my ships as those are almost the same size as BFG bases

Watching star trek enterprise series and it is funny to see that the NX class looks more hi tech than the one in the old series

Lovely job on the Trek ships.

EM4 has some great flying bases if you want to replace them.

Nice.

Oddly enough some of the designers for the Star Trek series ships see the old smooth ships as the more modern designs and that the older designs get more plates and other things until they can grow into smoother technology, and the Constitution class can run circles and outfight the NX-01 class 2 [part episode "A mirror Darkly" later season of Enterprise will let you see this in action. Rememeber, Enterprise they don;t have voice computers, nor the weapons ans shielding of Kirk's era

Maybe, but for now, I am pretty happy as is.

Okay, so i discovered just how super delicate and easily broken the body decals are for these miniature space craft are, as the images will show, things got super fiddly, and even using sealer to help place and grip them, they still were a major pain on the Reliant model.

I have to deal with this frustration of the decals for the Enterprise, Saratoga and Defiant, as for the aliens, the Galor and Mruder also have a LOT of decal works to add to the hulls.

Torn decals are a pain indeed.

Keep them wet and line them up as best you can. Then add battle damage.

Good idea! Thanks Dr.H and since we have seen Enterprise and Reliant went at it, I must do some black with metallic edges in those tear spots

Hope you are still sane after wrestling with the decals, nice looking fleet coming on, very nice loking models, and the last bunch of bods look good, like the backpacks they look reasonably practical for a change.

Well, I am okay, as Dr.H pointed out, add battle damage paint to the bad spots!

Looking forward to working on those packs as well, browns for leather

Yes damage to be scored on the Fed ships, Connie and Reliant are done, I also have a Miranda and defiant waiting on their decals, working on gold paint on a Galor class Cardassion cruiser, and there is also a Ferengi Marauder to work on as well ship wise.

I am still working paint on the low decal K' Vort class heavy cruiser Bird of Prey, I painted the bars on the head red, then brass added for that effect
[/img]

decals are on all wing surfaces: Upper wings
[/img]
[/img]

Lower wings
[/img]
[/img]

Underside view of torp launcher and neck works
[/img]

Still work to do on the engines and then touch ups
[/img]

The business ned of a K' Vort! The two multi-firing disruptor cannons,m 4 more disruptors and the torpedo launcher.
[/img]

I have also ordered a 1/2500 scale and not too costly resin model from Ugh! Models, a D-4/D-7 as they label it.

And of course, the Connie refit from ST: TMP/Wrath of Khan and Search for Spock, a LOT more decals to deal with

Scale is a little off though Star Trek ships are small compared to Battlefleet Gothic, but as long as the stem and the base are correct it doesn't matter

There are even rules for just star ships of Star Trek to fight and such, I used to have the FASA game many years ago, Starfleet Battles is another, then they have smaller scale attack wing out

Plus they look decent for the size

Hi all, back on track with some work on my 1/1000 scale Klingon D-7 class battle cruisers, the Polar lights decals also came with placement instructions as well as a break down of the "letters" and "numbers in Klingon script. I can change the registery as I discovered the basic one is simply "D-7-4" - is implied. I even customized the letters for the ships' name on the right wing. Of course as a TOS era vessel and of the 1/1000 scale version of the basic 1960's model, I decided to "modernize" my models and took it further with also painted on features and add on stuff. I have some minor touch ups to do, but overall, I am liking where my mind has taken things.

I present to all the D-7-4 IKS ch' I' H' ong I start with the wing, decals and waist phasers present
[/img]

Warp Nacelles, with tip Heavy Disruptor Cannons(silvery band on the wrap-around armor looking bit
[/img]
[/img]

Boom with windows.
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]

Primary hull, aka pod, three phaser hard points, torpedo launcher, and two tractor beam modules. and running lights
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]

Shoulder phaser and ch' I' H' ong name
[/img]

Other shoulder phaser with D-7-4/Klingon Trefoil
[/img]

Aft of the hull with Mk-VI Impulse system, excess gas vents, torpedo launcher,, drone launch tubes for attack drones or probes. and over it all, the shuttle bay
[/img]
[/img]

I still have the other cruiser to do, but there are just slight differences

So IKS ch' I' H' ong at 260meters, packing Photon torpedo launchers, 1 tube forward, and one tube aft, 2 x engine mounted Disruptor Cannons Mk-IV, 4 x waist mounted Phaser II defensive phasers, 3 chin mounted and 2 shoulder mounted Phaer 1 offensive/defensive phasers, 2 drone and one probe launcher tubes aft.

So ch' I' H' ong is a beast of war of a starship, she is purely all business, and no fooling around! Her refit to this much power in weapon upgrades, other systems such as hull integrity fields, deflector shields, and warp and impulse engines makes not just for a powerful bruiser of a cruiser, but for her size, she is dangerously nimble, and can hit warp 7.5 easily and make a emergency run of warp 9 for approximately 12 hrs safely. The colors of the ch' I' H' ong indicate it is owned by Klingon House K' reen, ruled by Keon Epetai K' reen and they have trade route concerns for their cargo run vessel, as well as duty to guard parts of the Klingon Border.

these Klingon ships were witting around with a lighter, yet odd paint scheme, I decided to go more militant with them. Brushed off the dust, and now ch' I' H' ong is looking good! I have a brighter shade of green for the glowy tubes on the engines, and I plan on using a very dark green, and maybe rusty red for "warpaint on the "face" and maybe the wings

Great work on the ship, the added details make a noticeable difference. Nice little back story too. This is quite some fleet you are building up.

Thanks Cam, and for some difference, I will post images up of the ch' I' H' ong with new "war-paint" while I will leave the other 1/1000 scale cruiser in plain greens.

Now I got a new arrival for my 1/2500 scale fleet, It is similar in size to the K' Tinga, the D-4 cruiser which was made for season 1 episode 5 of Enterprise.

All the parts that came in the small package. Impulse vents, warp nacelles, and the unified wing/boom
[/img]

Being on a stand, K' Tinga appears bigger.
[/img]

It is small compared to the D-7 Battlecruiser
[/img]

All assembled and I added the additional struts that could be added at such a small scale.
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]

I have more rods for struts, a second D-4 is on the way on the mail. I now want to get the 1/1000 scale version along with the K' Tinga they have

Assembled and posed with the K' Tinga
[/img]

with the D-7
[/img]

And posed with both the K' Tinga and the D-7
[/img]

It has very long nacelles, but as can be seen, the secondary hull(wings), is smaller than the K' tinga, and overall, is a smaller, lighter cruiser therefore smaller crew it is also with less decks than the other two, The pod is closer to the K' tinga in scale, with again less decks, and the "Hate is 1 deck. One can only imagine how cramped it is for the cranky Klingon warriors assigned to it.

Loving the Trek ships, how do they compare with the ST Attack Wing models do you know?

Oh 1/2500 scale is the largest "gaming scale" there is. I think attack wing is much smaller as these ships are over 3inches long. I think STAW is 1/3788 or so scale.

Here are the D-7/K' tinga/D-4 as a group.
[/img]
[/img]

Formation referred to as "The Devourer" which forms the ships and their firing arcs like a mouth
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]

Standard staggered line formation, K' tings being lead vessel

Thank you! The ships of Star Trek get to follow certain rules of design. I happen to enjoy the original Klingon design of the pod/boom/wing/hanging engines.

Thanks! I have received a 2nd 1/2500 scale D4 cruiser, ran out of plastic rods and went with converted paperclips, so I shall also have 1/1000 scale D7 cruisers, (the 2 you saw), a 1/1000 K'tinga and D4, so I have a 1/1000+1/2500 scale forces.

There are different sized Birds of Prey, tiny 3-man model that was seen in DS-9 as fighter types, the scout birds as seen in the Motion Pictures, small cruisers and massive heavy cruisers, in 1/2500 scale, that is a the one the size of a heavy cruiser aka K' vort, the one the Duras sisters used in the movie was a B' rel class scout
