Hi all, I'm sorry for the lack of updates but I've had some impossible stuff to deal with recently so fun time has been at a minimum. Just recently I've been to unwind with some painting here are some new pics..

3rd Scout Sentinel completed, this was the one donated as a pile of rubble by a friend. It needs a HK however but it's not a priority. It has a magnetic weapon mount so can use an of my available shooters. It's not my favourite but it bumps me up to 6 Sentinels and will be great for my Shadowsword Domination force (which has probably just been invalidated by the new version of the rules....).

I've made a start on my Commissar Lord conversion too..

Here's my finished Commissar Lord.



He may be my favourite Guard model I've done.



As you can see he's a conversion based on the classic Brian Nelson Cadian commander. I've added the cloak (with fur trim), cap and purity seal.



The insignia on this shoulder is the wreath and skull already so didn't require any alterations as that's what all Commissars have on their caps anyway.

Still getting some glare off the lighting.

This is the final model on my IG for a while. I have no plans to add to them in the immediate future. There are some things I'd like (more grunts, Basilisk, Hydra) but this is a good time to call a halt. With the current Apoc rules it works out at 4600pts. I wanted to play an Apoc game with the lot soon but my difficult home situation will prevent this for a while. When I do I'll put a message up here, I enjoyed the 2 mega reports we've done so far (historical records linked below) and look forward to the next.

I will restart this blog with the Marine side of my Ultramar forces, I'd like to show my current stuff and the old RT era it's replacing, I've not worked on that army for ages all my time has gone into IG but I do have several squads needing painting already. I'm waiting for the next marine book (possibly October?) and that should enthuse me.

In the meantime I have started some work on my Hundred Years War Warhammer Ancient Battles army, I got a few boxes of Perry delights for my Birthday. I'll update that blog (link in sig) when I have enough progress.

Hope you've enjoyed this voyage of guardery as much as I have, let me know what you think of the Commissar and I'll try to do a nice range of whole army shots when I get to do a big game next.

Thanks! All pics zoomable (and votable ) in the gallery! Glad you liked the cap, I've made so much headgear for this army it's untrue, the cap badge was very fiddly but I think it came out ok.

I'm really pleased how he turned out too, I really wanted him to be a good end model. Yep I'm so into an Apoc too...

I'm toying with getting another Commissar actually, I can't bring myself to convert another so have been thinking about getting the 'powerfist the air with manual for same' guy. I can't decide if I can get over his tiny legs or not....

In the Pandora Warzone book there is a formation for 3 Commys and a Lord, somewhat interested in making it...

I'm starting this thread up again!! I've finished my sojourn into the Medieval era (see other blog, link in sig) which I've really enjoyed but I've had enough for now. Here is an objective marker I've started..





The idea is of a Sentinel with a leg shot off that's crashed and the pilot has bailed out..the pilot will be on a separate base so he can be be detached to be used as another marker or the 'Relic'. He has a little box of something which can be the maguffin that both sides are pursuing..

I'll be transforming this blog into my Marine Blog soon! (I'll probably do a bit more IG now and then), anyway more soon!!

Here's the thing pretty much built, I've put the pilot on a separate base to act as a 'Relic' or objective marker of his own...the GS wall in front of him is supposed to be the furrow ploughed by the crashing Sentinel but it's mainly there to cover the pilot's base. The leg is actually on the wrong side, I've made a little GS plug to cover the hole where the hip plug should be. The foot was also missing a toe so I've pointed it downwards so it's less obvious. I pinned all the joints as they're all at wrong angles but overall I think it's a good use of the heap of junk it was..



I managed to get a complete Scout Sentinel (shown at the top of this page actually) and this marker out of this rubble. I do enjoy rehabilitating knackered stuff...



Peering over..you can see the door opened on the hull, I'd like to do a plug in smoke column kind of thing but probably wont bother...



Pilot. Case in front of him can be vital plans, experimental anti-xenos toxin, crisps etc, something to be a good objective..





Pollyfilla as basing, with some glued sand..I've finished painting this now and I'll post up some completed pics soon, hope you likee..

Thanks! I hope you like the completed shots. I don't have any major plans to do more stuff for the IG I'm afraid, one other tiny project (which is more of a joke really), IF a Basilisk like fell on me I'd add it to the force and I might be tempted by new releases (maybe as soon as March according to the rumours) but for now this will be it. I hope you'll stick around for the Marines who I've always seen as the other half of this army. I've started some preliminary work on them already and will try to get some pics on the go. I'll just be changing this thread over so you won't have to go looking.

You can see how far out the hips are positioned, if it were standing it would look very lopsided and it's plastic glued so not much chance of changing it. This is one of the main reasons I didn't try to make it into a fully functioning Sentinel. Once it's lying down however the angle is very natural..

Full shot of pilot. He's got some slight blood trails on his bonce to show from his crash..his uniform is different from the regulars too..I think he's come out well.
