I automatically updated to 1.6.4 and now I can't get on the server. :( Oh I heard you have to update all the chunks on you map so you don't have biome changes and stuff like that for 1.7. Does this mean we get a new map now, or shall we make a point of walking about the whole map loading chunks?

Slow down der.

This patch is mainly about structures, like nether fortresses, carrying across to 1.7 correctly when it is eventually released. I haven't heard anything about biomes. https://mojang.com/2013/09/minecraft-snapshot-13w37a/

I wouldn't bother walking about the map loading chunks. If it's necessary I can run a tool to do it when it's necessary.

I want to re-iterate this next point. 1.7 is a loooonng way off. These snapshots are just that, development snapshots. They're also only the first ones and there's been huge changes under the hood, there's going to be a load of bugs to sort out. 1.7 won't come out for months. Calm down about the world resets people and enjoy 1.6, it's still new!

P.S. You can edit your profile to go back to 1.6.2, just click Edit Profile and choose 1.6.2 from the "Use version" drop down box.

Also, does anyone need any string/wool? I have a fair amount of it and don't need/want it.

...does anyone fancy hosting a Minecraft game based on a map of the UK?

Imagine the group build projects... could go for an Arthurian theme and build Camelot, or an Ancient Celtic thang and do hill forts and stone circles and chambered tombs, or or or...

Let's not build Camelot.

'Tis a silly place.

We may open that server that I sent the dynmap link from to the international public, instead of just Dutch and Belgian people.

Because the BBC doesn't give useful links:
http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/innovate/developers/minecraft-map-britain.html

I did try this out, but sadly any attempts at "to scale" builds are difficult because the scale had to be adjusted to fit Minecraft's limits. Emphasis mine:
Each blocks represents a ground area of 50 square metres. The raw height data is stored in metres and must be scaled down to fit within the 256 block height limit in Minecraft. A maximum height of 2 500 metres was chosen, which means Ben Nevis, appears just over 128 blocks high. Although this exaggerates the real-world height, it preserves low-lying coastal features such as Bournemouth's cliffs, adding interest to the landscape.

Hmm, that's not such a bad thing. We end up with a more manageable Mini-Britain.

Oh yeah, it definitely is. I just wanted to make it clear that it's not "you can build your house in your street in Minecraft".

It's certainly fascinating to see all the emerald and diamond roads criss-crossing the landscape, and have fun trying to figure out where you are....

Dakka seems to have a hard time pinpointing my location rather often. I don't think it has anything to do with overuse of the /tp command.

This should be good, although I may have to find "alternate" methods of obtaining the episode:

Edit, scratch that, I can watch them in the UK, hurrah!

Hey, does anyone know the seed for the Dakka world?
I expect it is ITT, but there's 560+ pages to wade through...
If no one knows, any ideas how I can find out?
