Once people let me know if they are interested we can try and find a time when we can all be online at once for an adventure. I'd also like to propose that the egg should be stored/displayed somewhere public; potentially at Spawn if Darkinnit feels that is appropriate/we can find a way no-one can steal it
Im up for it, but my timings may be a little awkward to include

I wouldn't be much help as I havn't got much high end gear and potions, but I'd love to come along anyway even if just to spectate. I've not been to the End yet.
id be up for it...... id not have much in the way of arrows though

I swear I think those two have a hate-crush on each other sometimes.
I'd make one of my rare excursions back to minecraft for that.

I'm sure I could lend you iron equipment for the duration of the fight. I'm going to start brewing potions ready for it.
I'm tentatively thinking next Saturday (7th) as the date for it, assuming less people would be working/at school then so we can have anyone who wants to come be able to. I'll confirm an exact time (for various time zones) in the next day or two in order to give anyone else the chance to 'sign up'

I won't be available till late afternoon (US East coast). Hopefully I won't miss it!

I may turn up ...if only to die as collateral (my last experience with an Ender Dragon-three actually- was a bug on Grundz zombie server, where armed with an MP5, I was murdered repeatedly).

Thats ok, I have plenty of Iron and 15 Diamonds (which I'm saving up) so I can craft my own equipment. I was talking more about high level enchanted equipment, and potions. I've not fought the Ender Dragon so I'm not sure how powerful my equipment needs to be.
With regards to those asking about armour/enchantments/death, I intend to do the following:
1) Set up beds near the end portal for anyone who wants to respawn near enough to rejoin the fight
2) Seeing as there is some interest around the event, I can't imagine everyone needs diamond armour, so Iron should suffice. I'll also be providing as many bows as I can, along with a few stacks of arrows and various potions once I check recipes
*edit* while enchantments are useful, I doubt they are essential. Bows with Infinity would be a plus, as would pickaxes with efficiency on for dealing with the things atop the obsidian towers
3) For time-zone reasons I imagine it will have to be evening for the UK members in order to allow our friends across the pond to potentially be awake in the morning/early afternoon (depending on coast) so they can join in.
I intend to get as many people as possible online so I make no definite plans yet. Hopefully by Wednesday/Thursday I'll have posted here a rough schedule of what time/where to meet/what to bring at which point people can confirm their availability or try and tweak the plan slightly
PS. What blocks can the Dragon not break? I only ask as the spawn point in the end is about 20 or so blocks from the island itself; so I'd like to make a bridge of sorts ready for hunting the dragon, rather than us all being sitting ducks for a few minutes while we get across

Also, dont the things atop the pillars explode under a hit from an arrow?

last time I checked, yes.

I saw a video of the end dragon fight and in addition to shooting things with arrows, they had a chap who was spam-creating snow golems (which do half a heart of damage to the dragon and push back other mobs). If folks think this is a viable tactic, I'll start collecting snow and pumpkins ... though I doubt I'll be able to collect very much as I rely on altitude to get snow, don't have access to ice plains or taiga.
Might also move my plans for a chicken farm forward so I can make some arrows.
I've got a pumpkin and chicken farm if it helps...

I think that I can manage to field about a stack of golems at the moment, the snow cover at the Mountain Crown actually offers rather more blocks than I was expecting it to ... plus I have a small but relatively productive pumpkin farm.
It occurs to me that I probably have better access to flint than many others so I'll pop a chest with a few stacks on the floor outside the Mountain Crown nether portal; as I only have a few chickens at the moment it'd be great if you could leave some feathers in exchange (or Jungle/Dark Oak saplings) but if you're resource poor at the moment come by and take a few anyway and pay it forward some day ... as this offer is open to everyone please don't take too many flint, the aim is to get as many people as possible sufficient ammunition for the dragon fight, not to stockpile your personal armoury!
Right, so I'm thinking that we try and do this at 20.00 British time on Saturday 7th December. (Which I think is roughly 15.00 New York time)
Meet in the central Nether hub around this time with any armour, pumpkins, bows, swords, potions etc that you need to bring. Looking forward to seeing you all around for this; but I should mention that as there have been about 14 people respond on here they want to attend it will be first come first served if anyone else wishes to come along and the server fills up
"To be truely evil you must acknowledge the right thing to do in a situation, and then do completely the oposite"
I don't think the server has ever gone above 15 people online at once. However, as the End is rather sparse, and as long as everyone is going to be there, I could probably raise the limit just for this if it's required. I'm sure I could also temporarily allocate some more resources to the server process too.
I think youll need to due to the large number of Arrows flying around alone
