Last I checed the portal was still blocked off so I imagine not :/ which is a shame I like the quick xp that can be got there... Suppose I'll just find a nether fort and make a blaze spawner for now...

Eavon14 and I stumbled onto an unclaimed nether fortress out by our far flung base. We've contained 3 blaze spawners and are working on making a grinder for people who need blaze rods.

I found one too, above my Nether Portal.

To get to it, go to the South West corner of the Nether Hub and follow the tunnel to my Portal (Jericho). Go past the portal and follow the path through the netherrack and there should be a hole in the ceiling.

Thanks guys. Will keep checking back to see how stuff is going with the server, don't mind waiting for a while, I know the risk of grief first hand having been an admin on a couple of servers before.

The only griefing I do is a mix of bad puns and sexual innuendos.

That's the puppy. Even has a Nether Portal now, although it leads to approximately nowhere.

That is, nowhere in the Nether. Also, watch out for mobs when you come through to the Overworld- I haven't quite finished torching the whole thing properly yet.

Not quite. For some reason, there's about a cubic chunks worth of space that's glitching out hardcore inside the Nether Fortress that's on the path. There's a ghast fireball that's lag trailing, and you can't add or remove blocks because they keep flickering in and out of existance whenever you try to interact with them. And it's right in the path to the Hub.

Have you got coords of the location of this phenomena? I'll investigate and see if it can be resolved.

I was planning on getting so much done lol, but I haven't done much of naything this break . Just relaxing...

I found a place near those coords where the bridge wasn't complete and there were floating fireballs. Floating fireballs are normal, it's when a fireball reaches an unloaded chunk, it just gets stuck.

I've swatted the fireballs away and completed the missing section of bridge:


As I didn't encounter any problems there, it's likely the symptoms you were describing happened due to some lag at that time on the server.

Matt, if you lost anything important, let me know and I'll return it.

the only 2 thing that I lost that I cared about were my diamond chestplate and I believe my diamond boots (pretty sure I got my legs)

Everything else that was important survived. I wouldn't have been wearing it either if it wasn't for all the dang ghasts attacking us...

Very nice! Yeah, I figured it was lag, but it stayed around for multiple days (real world time) between me logging off and on. It was very odd. Hopefully I won't have the same issue again. thankee!

Couple of questions:

(1) I tried to move a brewing stand yesterday and when it was broken down it disappeared. Is this normal? Should I have used a specific tool to break it up? It's no biggy as I had a couple of blaze rods spare anyway but I'd like to know if it was a server error, or me being an idiot, just in case I want to move things around in future.

(2) I'm dipping my toe into the YouTube thing and wondered if anyone else on the server made videos. Clearly we're no Hermitcraft or Mindcrack but if anyone else is producing stuff it would be nice to know just in terms of being nosey.

You need to do it with a pickaxe, IIRC.

They need a pick to break and get back.

Anvildude and Sky_Slasher have both uploaded some videos in the past, as has Darkinnit.
