Vik if you have another one of those tea lights you could put it inside the smokestake to give a glow through the steel wool .

this is actually a great idea! yesterday I played in an 8 hr Apocalypse game. the gm had those blinking tea lights in the cotton sprayed black and grey. it looked like a proper battlefield with burning smoking vehicles and craters everywhere. I have pics.

DAKKA used to have a member..... grot something? Anywho he made a vid on how to do that some years ago and it looks really cool

I think I'm going to change my title to "Idea Ninja" since I steal everyone's ideas and pop up when least expected . This will allow me also to use the ninja emoticon more .

Good job Vik. Definitely has that Ork-y (Grot-y) feel of craziness going on.

Base works well (although a little colour to the smoke to make it more smoke and less cloud would be nice, but it's not absolutely necessary).

Perfect vik , love the details,and the smoke worked out fabulous. I like the shot you have in first pic cause it hides the grot bomb stand as well.

Brilliant, really great. I love it. Agree a little with Dr H about a bit of colour to the smoke, but I know it's really difficult to colour fluffy stuff.

Or if it's supposed to be clouds, a little blue under the bottom could also add to that effect.

Great job mate especially the sword wielding grot bomber love the smoke effect nice touch and the gunners back emblem nice work

But the 2 grots fighting is just so grot totally Orkiness

thanks mates! it was really a journey and a half to get there...

and anvil... you are the one spot on the money... indeed the middle section of the cotton is supposed to be the smoke but the rest is supposed to be clouds... with that chimney sticking out from....

I doubt if I want to meddle with the cloudcotton tho... better leave it as is and call it a day^^...


now... since theo has got me hooked up with a new idea... I am torn between making a big necromunda terrain underhive piece or working on new rusty stuff for my grot army...oh decisions, decisions...

Now you have my dilemma

It's easy Vik, start on one, then when frustrated jump to the other. If you make the underhive project a hive being invaded by grots, then you are getting double use out of it. Your Viktorian guard can be liberating the grot controlled sectors of the hive as its being retaken so you got all the bases covered....except the eldar gun thingy ...which could be lost aerchotech found while cleaning out the hive.

and at theo... I had a discussion with my missus... about just that... I told her of the tower...which she supports in general... provided I should finish my other projects... blimey as if that was possible

but you are basically right... I am secretly planning to make that tower to be almost a piece of furniture...(size wise)

Tell her that while you work on one side the other side can be where you store all your stuff .

that was my reasoning too! as it will be one massive storage system too... on top I even can make a helipad to store my flyers ... and maybe the tanks in the basement

Beautifully chaotic - I absolutely love the pandemonium among the pilots. Your basing was a great call as well - the big plumes of smoke just add to the disarray. Great work

well.... it was something entirely new to me... I felt like back in chemistry... mixing ingredients in a way I wouldn´t normally do so...bubbly...

only the amount got way out of hand... I mixed more than I needed... well doing things the first time kinda just opens the learning curve^^

and yeah... that makes the second finished piece!
