hello lads and ladies...

first we need to take a newsbreak... new instalment of the leagues terrain competition ...this time hosted by our notorious award winner camkierhi...(which means finally he can´t win in this one )
this time the theme is called Accommodation...!
as the man stated:

This rounds theme is Accommodation. The idea being that all armies must bed down at some point and be it a tent or a small tarp thrown over a ruin up to a full barracks or bastion just about every army must rest at some point. And they may set up perimeter defences, and gun emplacements.
The point being it can be anything from a sniper in a cave to full army base, your imagination is the limit. Oh and size does not matter, all will be judged on their own merits

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/570324.page#6380347

this will be a fine theme to dive into your creative think tank...which I need to do...

also... new update coming up tomorrow for definite!!! promise

interesting sound shaso...vik wheel...hmmm

Camkierhi wrote:Merry Christmas everyone.

Love the new concept sir, so wish I had thought of that. I wonder will it have a stabiliser wheel out the back?

all about the stabilizer wheel will be revealed tomorrow... the construction definitely needs something...and it certainly already got one ..wait and see^^

n0t_u wrote:Merry Christmas to you all.

Also Vik, not sure where that's going but it's probably going somewhere cool like normal.

rule of cool is my utmost concern...whenever I build something^^

lone dirty dog wrote:Merry Christmas Vik and great start mate and easy to tell the direction your heading, hope you and the family are enjoying the festive celebrations and clean up your desk it's a mess.

lol... yep...that dirty mess is still there... I like to call it the creativity main ingredient...

Theophony wrote:Merry Christmas Vic, hope you and the family have a great time.

The tank looks great as a base model. My first thought was jack in the box character from the restaurant, but I was really hungry at the time.

lol.... nice associative thinking there^^... once you see the update you will be even more sure of your first impression I fear

well... just to make sure... tomorrow I will spoil you with some new footage of pics for my progress....it is steadily getting better^^

guess I am still too involved with the poodle of tanks^^

speaking of...promised an update...and I need to fulfil my promises again... too much delay has happened here on these pages recently...

so allow me to re-introduce you to the ballsiest of all tanks...the noodlepoodle doodle tank...:

and right after this a scale shot...:

steampunky front windowsection...

ballsy sideshot of the turret

supportive backside ...it will get tracks too...

track layout still developing...

imagine the two links to be seen on the right all over...
question...should I add gripping details to the tracks?

and this is now the part where I show you the way how the tracks get moved...I made rails for those three wheels...what do you think?
with flash...

and without flash...

so....thoughts...or all too yucky or what?

Liking the tank. Very nice front window.

question...should I add gripping details to the tracks?
I say yes, most definitely. No running on the hinges (it's the one thing that irks me about early LRs and forgeworld tanks ).

the way how the tracks get moved...I made rails for those three wheels...what do you think?
Are you saying that your tracks actually work? They go round? If so, awesome.
If not, still good. I like people thinking about how things work and modelling it on.

LOL...one could name it that way....I have my dictionary currently not at my side...so I am just guessing so as the layman does^^

Liking the tank. Very nice front window.
the window...is actually half of a plastic toy for cats... take a look at your local pet shop...there you´ll find awesomeness distilled^^

question...should I add gripping details to the tracks?
I say yes, most definitely. No running on the hinges (it's the one thing that irks me about early LRs and forgeworld tanks ).

I am totally with you...running on the hinges...it is just as stupid as it gets really... now I need to design a brutal looking teethy way to add gripping details...

the way how the tracks get moved...I made rails for those three wheels...what do you think?

If not, still good. I like people thinking about how things work and modelling it on.
tracks wont actually be movable, it will just look that way.... I think one future day I will eventually build a fully functioning one...tho this will probably limit a lot the painting that I am able to do...
all round.

Your eye for potential conversion materials still amazes me, that works great as a window I think I might have to still the dogs toys

The tank has come together well like the track system but I would leave it as is, with the paint job should pull it all nicely together.

Hey I have been working on some small stuff mate but finding it hard with time at the moment, some stuff to show soon I promise

Although nothing as glamourise as your tank, I really need to get back to scratch building stuff I have entered ............. no wait been entered into the accommodation comp so will see how that goes LOL

Loving the ball tank

Great overall design, and the tracks and front window look really good. Not totally sold on the rear stabilizer yet, though I'll reserve further judgement untill seeing a more complete build. It does however sort of subtract from the ball concept, which I think is awesome. Maybe either building or fluffing in a gyroscope instead?

Just thinking out aloud here, looks good as is!

Cheers, and happy new year!

those are in fact no bobbins...so your wife´s sewing stuff should be secure...you didn´t do something crazy theo, now did you?...those are in fact just spacer discs of plastic...and the so called unnatural ball is no haemorrhoid but will get soon tracks of his own...

it will be a nice log cabin... and it will be made from wood...and I try to be really artisan about it...like it would have been hewn as it should ...
but let me show you...:

this is how I started...the "logs" are 15cm long...and it will be a square log cabin thus...

raw materials

combined shots...with mean sergeant for scale...

no windows ...yet...or doors.... the roof will be separate to be taken off...as I plan to make the interior into a nice fitting scene to the theme of the comp...

thoughts?...
