I'm a super slowpoke and am just getting into the Dark Souls games. Slowly plodding through the first right now. Super frustrating and filled with "oh come on!" cheap death moments, but somehow still fun and addictive! Reminds me of how games were when I was a kid.
Still plodding through Pokemon platinum. Finally got a dawn stone so now I'm leveling my gallade. He was gonna be best bros with a scyther y'know keep that whole swords for arms aesthetic rolling...but scyther can't learn fly and that's just too damn useful in the field to not have access to it which means crobat stays in the gang.
Scyther could still see some play but doubles up on a type I already have (shares one with crobat) where my other option houndoom brings fire AND dark. Sigh. Main party limited to 6 is my greatest pokewoe.
Wanna play something a bit meatier but I'm afraid to buy disgaea 2 on steam and be forced to disappointedly return it when/if it isn't as tablet compatible as legend of heroes. Ofc... I do have a controller

Yeah, same. The difficulty spikes in the middle of the game and then sort of tapers off - though that may be because of my level and build finally getting where it needs to be. Very addictive game though.
Sigvatr: I had a look for this golem that's supposed to be in Darkroot Basin but it wasn't there. I have the Prepare to Die edition on PC, so I assume the DLC is included? I'd definitely like to give it a go before I finish the game, but am worried I might have gone too far in and sealed it off or something - I have the Lordvessel and am on the last soul, so can I still do it before the final boss?
Been playing lots of Rainbow Six: Siege. Had a huuuuuuge win streak yesterday with a group of randoms using boosters so I earned about 6k credits in four hours with no Challenges active. That was nice, now I'm at 11k credits towards Frost or the USSOCOM Operators when they drop.

Also been playing The Division, cause it's great.
What operators do you usually play?
I need to unlock Frost, Buck, Castle, and Tachanka, and then I've got all operators

Varies wildly.
If I'm attacking and have a good Thermite on the team, I run Thatcher.
If I'm attacking and nobody runs Thermite, I run Thermite.
If I'm attacking and nobody runs Fuze, but we have a Thermite and/or Thatcher then I run Fuze.
Defending I'm more flexible on. I tend to run Jager or Rook, but I'm also known to run Kapkan, Mute, or Smoke. Also been playing Pulse a bit lately as they had a challenge for him and I kinda enjoyed it.
I have my matchmaking set to avoid Hostage games though because those are always annoying.
I took the "Mass Effect 3 DLC" approach that I had when it came to the JTF-2 Operators. If it's a DLC I find interesting or particularly well done, then I'll drop some real money onto it in addition to playtime. I dropped just enough to buy Buck(at the time I was short several Attackers but had my Defenders roster filled out) and don't regret it much.

Yes, DLC is already included on PC. DEFINITELY do the DLC, it's so much worth it.
You said you killed the Hydra already, correct? If yes, check the area again. Remember to check the correct place, he is a bit to the left on the edge of the lake. Here's a YT video that shows you the way:
Sometimes, it doesn't spawn. Quit and reload until he spawns.
If that doesn't work, check your inventory if you already have the Broken Pendant. Maybe you killed the golem earlier and didn't realize it giving you the item.

Just unlocked the last of the original operators
Attack I usually run Fuze (that AK-12 hnng) although not on hostage rescue, Sledge, Twitch, or Thatcher. Defense is almost always Mute, and if not Mute then Kapkan or Smoke.
When I was still doing Hostage missions, I always took Fuze.
You don't HAVE to use the cluster charge--and what's more, it's actually not a bad idea to use it because not all teams camp right on top of the hostage. Had one match on Kanal(Kafe Dostoevsky) where they all camped outside of the area where the hostage was rather than on top of the hostage.
Took two out because "who uses Fuze in hostage rescue?!"
Re-installed GalCivs3. Gonna run a slower game to hold me off until dark souls 3.

Tried playing Wing Commander yesterday.. Got in the ship, ready to go and...
I had no idea on what I was doing. Maybe it's getting oriented to the pixelated graphics, or the small field of view, but I seem to have trouble flying my spacecraft. I'm at least getting the shooting part more or less right.
Is there an in-game map that's not a radar by any chance? I quickly found myself lost in space and completely missing objectives.
Faithful... Enlightened... Ambitious... Brethren... WE NEED A NEW DRIVER! THIS ONE IS DEAD!
I tried playing an older wing commander game a few years ago, after having played it more or less when it came out and been fine, and couldn't fly for crap. Played a newer flying/space/aircraft game and did ok. So I dunno what exactly the deal is, but I'm there with you.
While waiting for Dark Souls 3 to be released, I'm dabbling a bit in Heroes of The Storm and Rift. I played Rift back when it was released, and thought they I would give it another shot since it went free-to-play.
Still a fun game to be honest - I love the whole living world and rift idea.
Just cleared the Bed of Chaos. Well, that's the last boss before the final.
Gonna take your advice Sigvatr and go look for my way into the DLC.
Been pretty disappointed with the last two bosses - Seath and BoC. Pretty dull and far too luck based imo. The BoC is probably the worst boss in the game.

Last time I played that Gal Civ 3 I was disappointed. Some parts are cool but the factions aren't different enough to be interesting. Endless Space and Endless Legend are so much better but game critics being bought out as they are won't say anything. Oh and the campaign was an absolute disappointment. A grand total of about 3 missions that shows about as much as the trailers do. The DLC has evil squirrels but I don't think it's gonna be worth it somehow.

Played a game of Dawn of War: Dark Crusade with a friend today. He had never played much of warhammer fantasy or 40k but seemed interested. He chose some weird rainbow color marines (funny as they were a faction in the fluff) and I chose 110th cadian for imperial guard and we faced tau and ork harder ai bots. We won and I helped keep him in the game. Somehow I think it was good that there was shared resources as his army would've been pitiful otherwise and his early game power generators helped me.
I killed the orks off first as they were my direct enemies and then we both killed off the tau together. Those broadsides were rather rough for me to handle.
He liked the game esp. how the bullet and rocket trails went from the guns to their targets. I found that interesting as I never took as much notice to that before. I do remember dawn of war 1 was more about over-the-top violence though. In general dawn of war 1 was over-the-top. In some ways I think 40k was better in those days. *Sigh* Well times do change.
Well anyway it sounds like I converted a Steam friend into warhammer or at least helped. He seems interested in warhammer fantasy too as the Total War game looks cool to him.

Sigvatr: Thanks for the advice! I found the golem and have gotten into the DLC. Opening boss was awesomesauce, a return to form after the last two lacklustre ones. Environments are gorgeous. So far, so awesome!
Made it to the star of the show. Hope there is more, assume there is from what I can see.
Nearly had him a couple of times but need to be a bit less tired and more focused to get the timing right on my dodges.
Love the big stone guardian dudes on the way here - the attack where they tear their big axes out of the ground is really, really cool.
