Ouch, I saw what had happened to your tank, I do exactly the same thing you've done when I used to paint in the old way (Without an airbrush) basically to fix the wash colour, you need to re-apply all the armour panels again, leaving the wash in the recesses.

Yeah that was my plan. Good to hear from a experienced painter that I'm on the right track for rectification work heh. Thanks

Red on those weapons looks great, seem to me like they are pretty much complete? Going to look good when its all finished and put together.

@Cam - Thanks

@ayoku - Cheers, Next up is some kroot samples

@Graven - Thank you, what ever breaks up the miles and miles of grey eh?

@Miss Dee - Many Thanks!

@Casey - I think thank you for the kind words

Update: I had my Tau friend come over this weekend to power through the building of some kroot, Once done we decided why not take a quick army shot

He's currently got 60+ Kroot then realised he had no idea how he wanted them painted. so first step, brown, second step air brush lighter brown top down, third step, brown wash

I completely agree.

Sixty Kroot is quite a mission, it'll be interesting to see how they turn out and how they match with the TronTau. Did you have lots of bits left? Those spare Kroot sprues are invaluable for conversions so see if you can nab some from him.

@Miss Dee - Just a simple first step

@Casey - Apologies, I typically list out every one who responds then type out the comments, however I blacked out it seems in the last round of responses

Update: quickly threw some paint on the kroot, the overall scheme he wants is earth, he liked some sort of dreadlock colouring with the tips being different. All cloth is to be red and dark.

Man, that's a tough call, not sure which I prefer. A mixture might be really cool actually, a bit of racial diversity. He could even use the differences to separate squads if he wants.

I quite agree, although a little more highlighting on the facial features generally maybe?

Yup mix them up a bit. They all look good base colours, sorry to suggest this, but I like them when they have freckles. yet another contrasting variable.

Agree with comments above. They all look pretty similar except for the dreads, perhaps that can be the difference, do similar browns and reds for all, and then have some fun with the dreads as perhaps that's what these Kroot use to express individuality, or family colours or something.

All under the umbrella of the "Greater Good" of course.

@Casey - I agree a mixture might help break up 60+ Kroot and Throne knows you need that when they are all so similar

@Miss Dee - Good call!

@Graven - tough call on the highlighting, I've spoken to my mate and suggested that this stage is his table top ready and after he gets all of them to this stage he can go back through and highlight them.

@Cam - Cheers, I think I know what you mean, they have splotches on them? I would totally do that and I think I might on the Kroot shaper once I get some base colours on him.

@Mad - Good ideas, I'll float them past the owner, I had another idea which I'll pass on is perhaps having the shoulder guard another colour to help further the differences.

Update: Well another big model underway, the drop pod! I started edge highlighting but boy is this a big model with lots of area. I might have to apologise now for the slow progress I forsee
