Nice score on those Plaguebearers. Yours cost slightly less than mine by volume, so you got a deal.
I'm also waiting for the new Codex. No doubt it's going to have some same ol' bland blah vanilla without sprinkles or a dip as options, which will really get me going because that was one of my #1 complaints about 5th. Chaos Marines are more limited in weapon choices / upgrades / overall equipment than Ultramarines. I couldn't put Heavy Plasma on my Land Raider sponsons, or use an Autocannon for hull-mounted turret gun, or anything of that sort. It was annoying, contrary to fluff, and completely lame.
I'm really enjoying 6th Ed so far. Looking forward to it staying that way.

I agree, Skalk. Those plague bearers were so cheap and buy it now to boot. I swooped like a raptor into a nunnery of the sacred hospitaliers.
Really have high hopes for the future of my nurgle army. If i am still able to mark me some havoks i have evil plans for a tourni army with some marked havok squads and epididimus. Once the tally hits 20, Havoks with no saves allowed HB would be golden. Not to mention plague marines with a 3+ Feel no Pain. Course i would never use this in freindly play but in a tourni, especially the ones locally where the meta is "broke as can be" it would be nothing but good stuff.
Got a lot of projects i have been working on. I will be home from Yosemite in two weeks, so i will be able to get some pics posted of what little i got done, and lookin forward to getting in some 6th ed games as well. Three months in the woods has been taking a toll on me.

That made me crack up out loud at work. Muuahhahaaa!
I've never been a fan of "do it because I can" lists. I've played them before, but it felt like I needed a shower after the game. I'd much rather stick to the fluff and lose the game than be one of those guys.
And on that same note, nothing is more satisfying than watching my fluffy Plague Marines stomp on a min / max army. It's happened one in 6th Ed already, and I'm looking forward
to it happening again.
One fluffy thing I'll be bringing back to my Plague Marines is Plasma Rifles (notice I called then 'rifles' instead of 'guns'). I stopped using them in 5th Ed because of the whole Rapid Fire 'can't move and shoot' thing. I know they Get Hot. It's a chance I'm willing to take now that they actually have a chance to shoot it more than once a game.
Hope the rest of your stay in the woods goes well. Looking forward to seeing your new work when it's available.

I agree with you Skalk.
Normally i dont field TFG lists but when everyone at the shop does for a tourni and you face Dark lance Venom Spam, Greyknights Purifier or Henchmen spam, leafblower spam at every game, something MUST be done. Therefore, i will stoop to their level, only i will do it with Nurgle fluff with added demon cheese.

So while i was in yosemite i started on the long list of projects that would lead me to finishing my Deathgaurd army.
The defiler that i recieved was missing some bits. Namely the front legs, and the weapons on the turret. No matter though. I am sculpting a new torso for it so that it can double as a soul-grinder and re-sculpting the legs so that it appears a bit more biomechanical. The demon spirit has lived in this shell for ohhhh so long. This is the second defiler i have in my army and both are close to the point where i feel like i could begin painting on them. I am magnetizing both so i can swap the torso out for a sculpted soul-grinder torso, that way they can be integral to my demon army as well .
Basically all that is left on this one is to resculpt the front legs from piano wire and GS. I also need to hit it with the dremmel and add corrosion with a mix of glue, sand and paint. More to follow.
I was going to work on getting a few more plague marines modified and sculpted but with new rules on the horizon i had best wait and just finish my vehicles.
So begins a new chapter in the history of my deathgaurd army. Thanks for all the support i have recieved to date.

Thanks gang. As always support for my endeavors is appreciated.
Today i spent some time working with my defiler. No pics right now but i did discover that one of the two defilers that i have is ready for some paint. The other one that i have posted here most recently i have to magnetize so that i can swap the metal top for the fleshy bits so that it can double as a soul-grinder. Lots of work to do there.
On a side note. I have often looked at my army and been disappointed. I have a touch of OCD and this coupled with my army ADD leads me to think stupid things like wishing that my army was a little brighter or more colorful. But absence makes the heart grow fonder. Two nights ago when i pulled my whole army out and looked at it i found myself really enjoying the edperience and feeling quite happy with what i have achieved so far. Like i said. The support that i get from you all is fantastic but moments like that where i can appreciate it myself are great too. I will try to get some pics up here of the work i am doing, as well as a tutorial of some of the nurgle GS work i do on my tanks and troops, that way loyal supporters like yourselves will benefit from what i have learned if you like.
Thanks again. Sennacherib.

In an effort to be true to my word, here are some pics of my latest work. I have been working on the most heavily mutated of my defilers. Just trying to get it put finished off. I magnetized the turret so i can swap it out with the torso i posted earlier to make it a soul-grinder. When i recieved it i only paid about 20$ for it so the fact that it was missing tons of bits was not an issue. It will mean that whatever conversions i do to it to make new weapons and CCW for it will be unique. I also finished all of the tentacles from whatever demon is trapped inside of it. That thing is fighting mad and its gettin out.
I also took some pics of the process of making nurgle blemish that i do and they are attached so that if anyone so desires they can do their own nurgly bits like mine.
The process requires making a whole bunch of little balls of GS first. Allow these to harden and then cut in half with a sharp boxcutter.
Smear a very small amount of GS on the area you choose to blemish, making sure that the surface is nearly entirely smooth and spending the most time blending the edges so that there is no lip or edge visable. This really detracts from the final product when its obviouse that you have a blob of GS on the model.
Use the butt end of a paint brush or some other suitable tool to dimple the surface of the GS extensively. Vary the size and deapth of the dimples.
Press some of the 1/2 spheres of GS into the blemish area to mimick boils that have yet to rupture.
Further distress the area with a sharp point to add detail to the bottom of the larger, deeper dimples. I also use a ball point pen tip to make very small dimples here and there.
Remember to use wet tools, do NOT lick your tools since the toxin from GS bioaccumulates. Dip them in a paint cup or some such. Keep your tools clean.

@ cormadepanda I hope i dont dissapoint you cormadepanda. Painting for me is something done in bursts of frenetic activity. Usually a week before some grand event. Still i may just be able to pull something off.
@ BladeWalker ~ thanks for the props. I'm really enjoying this particular project though it was a headache to start. The fore limbs are going to be a handful. Maybe i will start those tonight during a break from work on the Heavyflamers.
Began work today on the Heavy Flamers that i am building for the left shoulder? . Pics wont get posted today, but i am in the process of making GS spouts mounted to a HB frame. There are going to be some pipes twisted around the whole conglomeration leading to a large corroded barrel. Then the whole thing is going to recieve a semi organic mount attatching it to the frame of the vehicle. This whole mess is in part an act of necessity since the defiler came without side mounted weapons or forelimbs. when in need. Make do.
The Reaper auto cannon i also have to build. That is likely going to be built up from a spare CCW, and some muzzle bitz from the chaos vehicle sprue. Likely i will magnetize it as well so that i can swap it out for another weapons should the chaos codex come with a better option. Either that, or i will make it of indeterminate designe so that i can just call it a counts as without probs from my gaming buddies.

For what my advice is worth, mount the HF as far forward on the model as possible. That template goes only so far and you're robbing yourself of an inch or two at least.

I agree entirely Skalk. After playing around with the flamers that i am working on it came down to the easiest and most secure mounting method. They are no where near finished but i have secured them to their mount along with the pus barrel that feeds them. Still need to attach the hoses that run between the guns and the barrel but that wont take long.
Started work on the fore limbs for this beast. Bio-mechanicals are not my favorite thing in the world to sculpt. I am going to try something i have never given a shot. I am going to use tow different techniques in order to build them up. If they both look good i will use them together. Otherwise i will redo one of them to match the other. Either way progress is being made.

@ cormadepanda ~ Thanks. I am shooting for a look similar to the biomechanical mess that often sprouts out of villans in comic books and movies like Akira.
Last night magnusthered and myself had a fun game of 6th. I lost but it was a ton of fun. Highlight of the game was my 7 nurgle termis taking on his entire side of the board and loosing a man. Then later in the game, a DP and Typhus had a nasty frag down and Typhus successfully healed two str 10 hits with FNP. moral of the story. Typhus is tough as nails. Dont mess with the Deathgaurd.
Below are pics from the game as well as some shots of a building that i have been using in my games, as well as pics of some of my recent work. The Land raider is going to be a handful. It came minus doors, though luckily i had a spare set laying around. I am working to make everything in my army a bit different from one another. This shouldnt be to hard with the land raider since the guy who assembled it mounted the las cannons in the forward position. The tentacles i am making for my defiler/soul grinder are coming along. So far only 1 is still in the works but tonight ... provided that everything pans out like i hope, i plan on getting some more stuff done. Since i am currently working on no less than 4 vehicles, i have the advantage of being able to work for a half hour or so on each one. Normally things progress slowly because GS takes so long to cure, but with so many projects in the works at one time, i can spread my work around and get lots done.
Tonight i plan on cleaning up my second vindicator and sculpting some pustules onto it, as well as sculpting a raised relief of a giant nurgle fly on the door pannel. The land raider will also get some pustules sculpted onto it.
Also in the works are three or so camo nets made out of surgical gauze and pva glue. These will go on the land raider and vindicator.
The other half of the bio mechanical tentacles is going to begin getting sculpted tonight. I plan to have it wrapped around the chest of a dead blood angel, and then my second defiler is going to need a bunch of work done. I am just not happy with it in light of the way that the other one is turning out.

That was a great game! If it had gone to turn 6 the Death Guard would have won. Deny the witch saved my ass on the last turn. His Daemon prince attempted to cast winds of chaos on my guard unit holding the objective but I was able to roll a six. There were 4 or 5 guard left!
Thanks again the for the game. The terrain was excellent!

@ magnusthered. That really was a fun game. I have come to the decision that i really dont mind loosing as long as i get to do stuff. Getting a mudhole stomped in you while you do nothing is never fun.
Got some work done as i promised. The Camo nets turned out pretty well. Two are going onto my vindicator as well as some ammo crates and a jerry can. Mosely i just want it to look like the Vinid has been around the block a few times and that its been locked in a protracted campain. Worked on the fly on the door panel some. Not really happy with it. but i'm gonna wait and see how i feel about it before stripping it off.
The second tentacle for the defiler is in the works and the first tentacle is almost done. Need some feedback here. What color should i paint my nurgle tentacles. Pink, green, yellowish. I'm leaning yellowish or pink but i dont want too much color in my army or it will start to look a bit crazy.

@ Cormadepanda~ Thanks for the feedback. I will take your vote under consideration, but I am trying to stick to a somewhat limited palate. So maybe a vote for dwarf flesh?
Got some work done yesterday. I will try to post it soon. Mostly just trying to get enough done on the tentacles that it does not just look like more of the same, unchanged. Started work on a GS and bitz nurgling. I plan on making a few for the base of my Greater unclean one. That figure got a couple of shinny new pins to hold it together and a ton of GS to cover the gaps. Also been working on the Vindicator some. It takes a long time to make a noticeable difference. Next time i am on here, i swear, lots of new pics to update the progress.

@ cormadepanda ~ I have more than just a tentacle tip. The whole deal.
SO this weekend i was pretty productive. For me that means that i can actually take pics of some of what i have been working on. Work progressed on many fronts. I drilled, scraped and otherwise distressed a bunch of stuff that needed work. namely the Vindicator and the Landraider that i have been at work on. The land raider i am still not inspired by. I need to hold most models in my hands for a while to get a sense of what i want to do with them and the LR as well as the sencond defiler are both models that are proving to be a challenge. I did however finish assembly of my two demon prince models that had been on a back burner one of which (carrion) has a hand sculpted nurgling on its base., I also finished the rolled tarps that are to go on my LR and my vinicator. Currently i am trying to work out where to mount a few banners. My deathguard army has banners throughout and i want to continue the trend. I am almost at the point where i can begin painting (? really) my demon prince Carrion and Bile, as well as the defiler (do they have names, not so sure they do).
anyways. Enjoy and any Q&C are encouraged.

Not sure eldartau 1987. Likely it was a pain in the butt though. Thanks fo the props.
I cant wait to get to assembly and painting on the final stage of my defiler. Cant wait. Its been so long in the wrks that its really hard to believe that its almost time for primer. Almost.
Still on my list of things to finish are about 60 troops, but since i already have 21 deathgaurd plaguemarines painted, i'm gonna focus on basing and painting 7 bases of nurglings and about 10 more plague bearers. Stay tuned.

Last night i did a bunch of work on my Vindicator. I estimate one to two days before i can post some pics of it primed and ready for painting. The same goes for my demon princes Bile and Carrion, as well as my defiler. With that much to paint i wont be getting anything done for a long time but at least i will have a lot of little stuff that i can work on. Next time i post, pics of at least one of those four previously mentioned projects primed and with painting under way. stay tuned.
