Heldrake- no rush on that at all, and may not even matter by the time you do, was just wondering if you did have a reference.

Been playing with the MIG Absolute Chipping today on the Heldetta, I started at the easy end to see what it would look like.

So what do you think? It looks different to the sponge technique.

I also finished the Thunderwolves but I'll post pics of them tomorrow when there's some day light.

I just saw this stuff in Model Airplane International (or one of those mags). So, how are you applying it, Gir? It does look different. I'm not sure what I think of it myself....

I'm not sure if I prefer it to the sponge way, I could be doing it wrong though as I don't get the same effect as on their website but then My paint will be thicker as they use an airbrush.

I undercoat the mini first
Then paint on all the rust effects.
Next is a layer of the MIG solution
Wait 30 mins for it to dry.
Now paint on the main colours in my case white and blue.
When thats dry apply another coat of MIG solution
Now this is where I could be going wrong but after you apply it you can then use a brush or any other tool to make the marks / gaps in the paint to show the colour underneath. It does say to wait 30 mins to do this but I'm not convinced it would work after that long. The one problem I've found is it smudges the rust colours sometimes and makes a horrible mess.

I will be using the sponge technique on the rest as I dont know what it would do to GS.

More pics today for you, I've finished the top side of one of the Heldettas wings with veins on the side there will be veins under the wing as well.

Also a sneak peak at the nose art which will have the wording Lucky Lucy.

I think the Heldetta will take a few weeks to paint as its huge when your using a size 2 paint brush

The Dark Wolves I promised and nearly forgot again.

Very cool. I have some of those shields myself for my LoTD squad (just doing the Greek theme with them).

Thanks Git's glad you like them. I'm not 100% impressed with the shields mine aren't as round as you think they are, maybe bad casts or something.

Freaky and damn cool dude! :-) love the paint so far! with your veins, only suggest I can offer is obtain some blue wash and add some to the junctions of them and fade the colour out along the vein (like the helbrute I'm doing) but I love the feel of the model, it really gives off a corrupted vibe like a pure symbol of the imperium has succumbed to the lure of chaos and is slowly being transformed into something not entirely machine........

Cheers thats the look I was going for

The veins dont show up so well in the picture they are blue with purple streaks and black at the juncture, if we ever get any sunlight I'll try for a better pic.

Thinking about it the other side is veined but I haven't painted the white over it yet, I'll take a pic tomorrow before I go over it.

Back again with another Heldetta update

Heres the vein pic before I went over it in white.

I finished the top side of the second wing today, its all starting to come together now. I've also done basic colours on Lucky Lucy. I know she's not great but I have zero artistic ability, I'm impressed she looks even vaguely human

Will be cracking on with her tomorrow and yes she is a she, you dont get the name Luck Lucy for nothing with the amount of rot and mutation this girls gone through you would have to be lucky

Some more pics from the work I've done on the nose today, still need to do water effects to fill up the blind eye and add some coming out of the nostrals. Then its onto the mouth/teeth.

Also a WIP counts as Huron as I'd rather have a non finecast version that doesn't bend!

Some more progress shots for the heldetta, the top is mainly done now apart from touch ups and drool.

I've started to block colour in the underside today I'll post some shots tomorrow if anyone's interested

So here we go Lucky Lucy at her best

lol Cheers Git's. Never noticed the engines looked like eyes in the first shot, now I cant un-see it

I'm not sure if the tail end looks ok or not as its done differently to the rest, it kind of looks like its a dead piece of the Vendetta which is kind of cool

Cheers Glad you like it, I do think the teeth are great.

Had a small break from painting the Heldetta today and assembled my Nurgle Chosen squad. All of them are converted apart from the squad leader. I still need to GS the cracks where the armour goes together. The second guy has a grenade in his hand its not easy to see.

Plasma is the way forward

I also made up a Nurgle Lord on foot for my tournament at the end of next month.

I still have the Heldetta to finish then I need to paint up Huron the Nurgke Lord, Chosen and a unit of cultists.

Should be doable if I can get the Heldetta finished next weekend.

After that I'll be looking what to run for a tournament in June, I think I'm going to be using the Thousand Sons for that one so the Raptors will be finished at some point in the not to distant future.

Back with another update on the Heldetta this week, she's all finished just the base left to dry and it may need a few touches as well, so all being well next weekend she will be completely finished.

She likes lots of attention, see she's drooling to play with you!

I did add some UHU in other places that shouldn't get handled as well, I think it looks nice and icky

I'm starting the Chosen squad next, they were all primed today ready for painting.

Welcome to my chaos blog Nashbashem . The drool is just UHU glue from Poundland (no expense spared ), I applied it with the end of a paper clip its very sticky and dries as per the images. In some places I applied an ink/wash to give it a bit of colour.
