It's only for an ally detachment at the moment which will be 16 guys and 2 drop pods but I have a plan for those.

I need to find a kit with a good spear in for a counts as Vulkan, any ideas?

Unfortunately, the photos make it difficult to give you a good opinion. They're subtle.

Cheers Nash I'll look into them

It's a bit strange they stand out a mile on the table I think its because Micron pen ink doesn't show up very well in photos, its kind of reflective.

------------------------

Here's my latest piece Alfred the Great from the SAGA game, he was a nice break from all the power armour I've done over the last few months, I tried to make him have a dirty look as thats what I think they would look like in those times with lots of dark browns / leather.

I have loads of time to paint this week as I'm on holiday Only problem is I'm still waiting for my paint order which has my much needed plastic glue in lol, looks like I'll be just using super glue for now. I'm currently working on a restoration project on a Thousand Son's squad I picked up off ebay ages ago and converting them into a Havoc squad.

Also a selection of my Death Guard army are up for sale on my website if anyone's interested, I'm keeping the Heldetta for now as I plan on building a new Nurgle force if I can sell this one.

Beautiful job on Alfred there. Realistic, somewhat muted colors but still vibrant enough to be interesting. Nicely done!

Cheers Git's. It felt a bit strange painting cloths for a change, trying to highlight them without making the highlights look unreal was a bit of a challenge.

Thanks Nash. The T Sons are making a come back after playing Death Guard for most of last year, I feel a change is needed. I wish I had done them with Sandy bases rather than ice but I don't fancy re-basing them all.

Well the Thousand Son's squad I said I was going to re-store is now ready for some paint. I finished gluing them all together today it wasn't as bad as I thought as most of the body parts stayed intact from the first owner which is a relief as they are a pain to line up in metal.

Here's the squad shot with the Champion with his trophy!

Thanks everyone for the comments the champion of the Havoc squad has now been painted, I spent more time painting the banner than the champion but never mind

Cheers bubble I'm sure the temptation of chaos will put you straight

I did the UHU blood effect ( same as on the Heldetta teeth) on his sword to show he's just dismembered a lowly Blood Angel but you cant really see it in the photos. I also thought about doing some blood splatters up the banner but decided it was too dark to really stand out and I didn't want to ruin the banner either .

Onto the lascannon guys next and a Mantis Warrior or five in between for Gitsplitta's comp which you can find here http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/10950/289929.page#5619457.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone I never expected that many positive comments on the banner

Just hope I can make the rest of the squad fit in with the champion, I do plan to try some OSL on the lascannon coils to give them an extra spot of colour.

Sorry, hadn't refreshed the browser in a while and lots of comments beat mine. I had been looking at the dragon warrior guy. His helmet has the arrow on it where the top vent usually is. You had it painted the same as the rest of the helmet, and I was wondering if you were going to paint it separately or not. Sorry for the confusion.

Switching between the iPad, iPhone and old desktop they are not always synced, so I was a page late and a week or two behind when I posted.

lol no probs Theo, I was going to leave it the same colour but I could do it red or black to break the colour. I'll see what the rest of the guys look like painted up before I decide. They really look like a motley bunch made up of all the spare bits I had laying around at the time.

Today I finished the first of the Lascannon guys from the Havoc squad, I'm not sure about how the coil turned out I think I need to practice a bit more on painting lighted sources.

I was going to start the next one but got distracted by Git's MW challenge and added a banner to my entry guy and also the rest of his combat squad

The guy on the right is waiting for super glue as he will have a FW Plasma Cannon.

I'm currently trying to think what to do for my next army project, you may end up helping here as I will most likely need some input after I've compiled my long long list of ideas

Thanks Git's and Nash I'll try to get the other three done this weekend then I can start on the Mantis Warrior combat squad.

A question for you Git's what sort of army would the Mantis Warriors use from a fluff point? just in case I buff these guys out to a full 1750 point army.

---------------------------

Speaking of armies my next project will be........................well thats the problem I have too many ideas so I'm chucking them out there so 1 you can see how mad I am and 2 you might help me decide on which one to go for next. I've listed them in order with the parts I have most of ready for painting or interest in.

Exorcists (Grey knights) - Full army of custom shoulder pads and a CH Storm Raven conversion kit.

Eldar Biel Tan - Fire Dragons, Farseer, Warlock and a few Harlequins, oh and I just picked up the paint for these guys.

Tau and khorne daemons army - This could be an exciting project

Celestial Lions and Mechancium - some Lions and Mr Celestial awesome (Painted by NF09)

Skyrar's Dark Wolves and Dragon Warriors (new version of army) - Grey Hunter squad, Dragon Warrior combat squad.

World Eaters (increase to 1750 points) - Vindicator (which I dont have listed lol), army list written

Night Lords - I have most of the parts for the first Sang Guard squad

Sisters of Battle with Guard allies (increase to 1750 points) - 1 Sister

Iron Warriors and Death Skullz - Army list written

Emperors Children - Army list written

Thousand Sons - Still some more units I want to add

Death Guard - complete re-do not happy with what I have from a model perspective from the changes from the 5th to 6th edition codexs

Red Scorpions - Some special storm shields
Necrons - Some good modelling ideas
Slaanesh Daemons -
Sons of Horus
Omega Marines (Drop dreadnought army)
Dark Angels - Asmodei
Dark Eldar - Lelith
Deathwatch
Angels Encarmine (Death Company army)
Howling Griffons
Ultra Marines
Snake Bites
Sam Hein
Corsairs
Imperial Beastmen - Victoria Lamb models
Genstealer Cult
Nurgle Daemons
Tzeentch Daemons
Blood Axes
Tyranid
Fire Hawks
Mantis Warriors

So what do you think
