What exactly is a Wastrel? He looks fantastic regardless. Something very menacing about that model and the normal clothes you have given him make it all the creepier.

Looks like I missed last weekends update out

So without further ado I present to Sidir Alchibal from Malifaux and his hundred layers of white

Yeah lots and lots of layers from a black undercoat via grey to white, took absolutely ages but quite happy with the outcome.

This weekend I painted some scatter terrain for Malifaux/Frostgrave or anything else really.

These are from Mini Monsters from Poland, I picked them up off ebay really good service and the resin is really nice no mold lines at all. I also have a few of their buildings and a few other bits and bobs that will be on the painting table as soon as the weather gets better to prime. I managed to prime these quickly on Friday as I'm hoping to have another try at the game tomorrow to learn the rules. I picked up the starter the other day which is quite cool and has some very nice/useful minis in and and easy to use fate decks for each faction.

Boxes

Barrels

Had another game of X-Wing today as well really into that game, I need to do a bit of a re-paint on the Falcon at some point, a few highlights and the engine glow.

Hopefully I'll have more before the Easter weekend is out.

-----------------------------------------------------

I've been at the painting again today, continuing with Malifaux this time we have Angel Eyes from the starter box, she's a really nice mini and is supposed to be great in game as well.

Then I decided to have a bash at doing a few upgrades to my X-Wing Millennium Falcon, I really wanted to do the engine light source as it doesn't look great as per stock model below.

So I did the engine glow and a few highlights on the red and added some extra smoke as well and she now looks like this.

Which I think looks much better

Not sure whats up next there's still a few Malifaux models on my painting table so they could be next.

Nice engine effect on the Falcon G.
Also the more I see of Malifaux the more I like it, too bad what I've heard is the scale is off compared to most other 28-32mm games.

Cheers Theo, the Malifaux minis are really nice but yeah you're right they don't really scale nicely with other games.

They are also amazingly hard to put together due to super small parts.

I've looked at some of their monsters for other games, but having heard so many bad tales I've stayed away from even the clearance ones at miniaturemarket .

Not much done this weekend I'm afraid I got hit by a migraine Saturday so only cleaned up a few elfs.

Today though I got some painting action in and finished this mini thats been on my painting table for years.

This is the female bard by Dark Sword miniatures, something a bit different to the normal!

Nice job on Luco, he's got a pretty nice mysterious lone gunslinger vibe. I watched a game of Malifaux being played in my FLGS. I found the lack of using dice quite strange!

Thanks yeah Luco is a nice model, I need to sit down and read the rules again, its not easy getting into it after so many dice based games.

Januine wrote:Swet job on the gunslinger. Likeeeee a lot!! Malifaux do some gorgeous gorgeous figs.

Thanks Januine Yeah theres loads of nice Malifaux minis out there, I do find them different to paint than other models as they have lots of blank space to fill in unlike metal models.

Azazelx wrote:Gunslinger looks nice, and so does the Falcon touch-up/repaint. Makes me want to get out my X-Wing ships...,

thanks Azazelx, I found that that a lot of the X-Wing models don't really need much doing to them unless you do a total re-paint. I have seen some really nice models though especially a de-cloaking phantom.
