Cheers boys! I've been playing around since then with some stronger highlights on the scratches and they look pretty good now! a bit of metal here and there and i'll say the weathering is done. i've ordered his fist (good for punching things) and I'm still scratching my head trying to find the head for him! it's being suprisingly hard to find which is frustrating!

Also, since I'm pretty up to date with my models i'm free if anyone wants me to paint anything for them I feel like doing pretty much anything so send me a message if you need me!

should have some more updates on Constantine this week, I reckon I'll finish him except the head

Beautiful work. Turning the bright eye-watering yellow into a dirty ochre really works for the Fists in making them look much more "realistic".

Drum roll please! another finished model, I'v done brother Constantine the Contemptor dreadnought! I didn't like the eye lens helmet but I cut the eye piece down and drilled in a small rounded head nail as a new lens and I like it much more now!

I really quite like the chipping and weathering on him it suits the size of the model and he looks great next to the other models in the collection

So now i'm just working on the last two turrets for RiTides and waiting on the next snot drop of green models for Whaley!

There's actually two of these! You can see the last several pics have the front leg raised (and the clear rod nerdfest added to support the body is much taller than on the first). I'm guessing both didn't fit in the photo booth together though, they're rather massive!

I'm super happy with them and think they match the aesthetic (especially the Vultarax) really well! These are my long range fire support, and nerdfest added a barrel to the chin gun since the one that came in the kit was truescale and tiny (it blends in a bit on the black background but obvious if you look for it).

Fantastic work nerdfest, and thanks for sneaking in the moment to post pics

Hey dudes it's nearly home time at 1:30am here and I decided to sneak a look and see what you thought! glad they are well liked! :-) yes RiTides did indeed find some very cool models as stand ins for his little army and I've enjoyed painting a few different things I normally wouldn't have seen or had the chance to paint!

How is the size compared to the original tank?

Where is the main gun? Under the chin? If so it's a bit underwhelming compared to the original. The model is very cool though and I'd be happy to blow them up!

Solar, you're right about the gun, but it's partly because these models are just so big! Nerdfest never takes group shots so I'll take an army pic when I have them all together. But here's a WIP that he sent me of just the legs with the Thanatar and Vultarax:

Spoiler:

I had thought about laser cutting a base for them at first, but that's obviously not possible given how far their legs stick out . Also, while they're bigger than the original tanks, it should be a disadvantage if anything - they're just bigger targets! So hopefully my opponents won't mind

Justaerin - These are from Industria Mechanika, they're getting more back in stock in a month or so, too!

Wow. they are massive.

No I wasn't worrying about Model for Advantage, but just in general scale. As for the gun it equally doesn't matter as long as it has a gun that you can determine range and firing arcs.

Yeah.. forgo the base.. very cool collection.

I don't comment much (my apologies for that) but whatever that thing was (and now meant to be) is truly spectacular. You should be very happy with how it has turned out.

I have done a lot of painting (generally for tabletop effect) but I have no idea how you can paint the battle damage like that.

Sometimes it makes me want to put the paint brushes down permanently when I see work of this quality, but then I remember that I enjoy painting and improving and its guys like you that give me the greatest tips, tricks and motivation.

Keep it up.

Hey Archer! Thanks mate, but honestly the technique used on them was pretty basic for the most part, it just takes a bit of personal taste and patience the rough idea behind it is to give the weathering some depth by adding layers of weathering using just washes and Vallejo metal air silver. start with a full silver base coat whether it's a metal primer or a base of paint then wash with Agrax Earthshade, Nuln Oil then add some patches of metal by both fine detail brushing scratches and also using a slightly more watered paint and sort of blotching some parts on and wiping off to get an effect you like. then follow up with a liberal wash of sepia with the final scratches done with a fine brush. you can also go back with black and darker certain areas in shadow and use different inks for certain parts.

hope that helps you have a crack at it? like I said the theory is basic but it's a personal taste effect and you'll get a finish you like by playing around with that method if you try it please chuck up some pics here for us to see!
