Pic links are all broken right now (I"m at work), but I'm investigating making my own transfers. I just need to read the instructions carefully at some stage.

Also, a place called "pop goes the monkey" over on Shapeways offers both custom Minotaurs pads and also glue-onable chapter icons made for shoulder pads. I'm planning to do an order with him this week, so you can either investigate and go for it right now, or wait for me to pull the trigger, get them in hand and report back.

Hecaton Aikios, love his history and his rather straightforward demeanor when it comes to battle a great looking model as well, maybe a little too much purity seal clutter near his head but I can live with that as long as he kicks ass and looks good!

The colour and style on him gives me high hopes that on larger vehicles this will look pretty good! the red is a good pop of colour and they can be as clean or dirty as I want! so here he is for your perusal and hopeful pleasure (not in a Ba'al sak type of way) is Hecaton Aikios, Contemptor Dreadnought of the Minotaurs Chapter













So now he's done and dusted, it's more washing of the RiTides fleet of shooty laser death in space! and I might have a go at one of the SM casualties or prime Leman Russ and start him with the Warhound? not sure yet, gotta get my head in the game i'm a bit sad with the new releases to a point, it feels like GW are re imagining Space marines for a younger audience and the quick fit models and styles of them aren't appealing to myself although the intercessors look good that's about it and i'm worried i'll never again see any nice normal marine models produced which will greatly diminish my enjoyment of the hobby knowing everything I have is everything I can use for inspiration.

But hey! we've still got a whole Minotaurs army to get through! so let's get excited people!

You're SM worries are reasonable. I doubt we will get many new kits that aren't Primarus Marines in the near future. You are forgetting one important thing though, and that is Horus and his heresy. At the very least, you will see FW continue to put out models for that in the traditional Marine scale. And with both box sets from GW proper selling very well, don't be surprised if they do more. It will just take a minute for the hype to calm itself.

Very nicely done Damo. he's beautiful! Battle hardened and worn, yet doesn't look like a fugitive from a scratch-n-dent sale.

Now some actual work on the Fleet of space time laser pew pew death! and a couple other little updates! the process so far on them is prime silver then wash all with nuln oil, then dheneb stone washed with a nuln oil and lhamian medium to slightly dull it down and smooth it out, now i've sponged some Dheneb back on and then some dark grey and started chipping, also painted some glowy blue engine panels still a little bit to go on these two but I wanted to finish a couple to make sure they looked right and i knew what i'm doing on them all!

I also started washing my first Tac squad with Nuln and then Agrax and primed Leman Russ and a Lone Wolf, who i'm painting because I've taken ages to get to the Primarch for the guy i'm painting it for!






And I started the first casualty for an objective marker two will be Minotaurs and the dead guy will be either an Ultramarine or a 'Space phnatom' in the purple of my mates army (and yes it is spelt 'Phnatom'

Damage on space fleet looks awesome . My only question was on the overall brightness / color of the hull, are these darker than the test model or is it just the pic (or do they brighten up in the final step)? Great work

This is true. Expect no respite from Forge World's Horus Heresy line - and frankly all of the new marines we've had in the last few years have been either from FW or FW-based via the boxed sets, so it's all good.

Hey guys, i'm gonna leave the talking up to you this post I've just got home from work at 2am I was going to update if I had a chance during my shift but the work computers block the postimage site

So here's a couple of quick pics of my Minotaurs casualty/pbjective marker, not the best paint on the details but meh! he's in pretty grave condition and I still hope he's cool I like the head swap from the original skull to a similar scratched visage as his chest.




and for some more Mino love here's the armour done on the first Tac squad! great technique for a quick main colour scheme and I love it!

The glow on the bionic eye is a great touch. I love this color of armor so much I'm thinking of doing it for my Ghar even though I just repainted them all in iron Warriors motif.

I know he looks cool doesn't he! I've just done the reds on the bolter casing and the chapter symbol but haven't had time for pics yet, now they really pop!

See! that wasn't hard was it! :-) and for a face that hasn't got much deep detail to it I think it looks really good! enough tone and shading without being chalky or boring, I say leave the eyes and perhaps was them slightly with Nuln oil
