You're aware that there are no Combis in that box, just support weapons and a Boarding Shotgun?

Are you saying the two weapons on the left are the "new" combis and the four on the right (different sprues) are the "old combis?

If so, I think there is a vast improvement. Slightly longer, but that narrowed barrel is way better/more realistic. The arms are even better sculpted.

There are models in Infinity that are not the best in the industry, but as a whole the range is certainly one of the top lines, especially given the total number of sculpts.

Really? rear end of mag-well to end of barrel is 12-15% more on the bolt dude's rifle.

Now the model also happens to be pretty bulky so it's not that noticeable but I'd rather have seen differently as well.

Its combi rifle plus light shotgun, the weapon has been completely redesigned, the butstock is extended and the models are MI, which may or may not have an influence in the next generation design.

Only thing I do not like is the internal size difference, but I feel it is lost in the assembled models.

I agree it looks okay on the model, that's not the problem.
Greatly prefer the redesigned look, too.

However, it does rather remind me of the look on, say, the auxilia; not bad models either, but the lovely, delicate, even almost realistic weapons size looked so promising for a while.
In that regard, I share his disappointment.

and the rather substantial difference between male and female bolts is a shame, too - so far, aside from an HI model or so most PanO models had kept that subtle by CB's standards, at least (and even that HMG SG is acceptable IMO). these barely look like they're from the same unit.

I think that CB is aiming at teenage guy who whant boobs and bulky dude like in video game (WoW) - just look at the new morat !
This is new and i will no longer support the infinity game. If you like it (probably like a lot of people) fine, i dont.

It is not new, go to Infinity web site. There is a word that been there since the start that covers CB design concept for the game. Can you see it?

Wow those are great looking figures and great looking paint jobs. Very rare to be disappointed by infinity figures, hence the reason why I have dozens of different figures and haven't ever played a single game.

no its new. ATM the only bad sized (weapon/body/differancemale female) are 2 boxs of bolt and the new morat stater (in the case of morat look at the combi of oznat, well morat are alien i dont care)
never before female had smaler weapon than male ... look at the suiss guard HMG

So you make a trend out of two releases, one you don´t care about? Yeah, the sky is obviously falling and it is no longer worth to support Infinity. ;-) You are making a fool out of yourself. When they consistently change to this pattern you might have a case to complain. So far? Not so much. All ranges from CB have dud models in them, even the newer ones. Ballet dancing Hospitaller HMG anyone? ^^

I like the Bolts and think they fit in fine with the rest of the range. Just the inconsistency within them is strange but I didn´t notice so far. I do not really like the weapon design change in general but so far I could contain that to just the Bolts as I got the rest of the line mostly complete.

To my knowledge this is true and somewhat disappointing.

And no I am not blind, you could put a bit more effort in reading what other people typed.

That size differential between male and female's combis about the same as the differential between Kirpal Singh's asssault pistol and Stephen Rao's assault pistol. I think that it is a by-product of the digital sculpting. I hope it stops here.

Two boxes (of 4 and 2?) and one blister (of 1) to go. Could the blister be the Bolt w/Drop Bear? 8 Bolt minis, geez. Seems a bit of an overkill for a unit that still wants for the rules for its weapon, and its sectorial.

And how did I rack up 300 posts? Oh yeah, never mind. Dakka keeps stats on that, I see.

Those Bolts look fantastic. If I hadn't taken a vow to stop letting single releases make me start factions, I'd grab them and the combi blister.

So what's left this month - 2 boxes and a blister, with 7 models in them? Carlos confirmed this month was all new on the Australian(?) Infinity facebook page, so we're not going to see any repacks in there, so a repacked starter is out.

Angel has been teasing that pair of 55mm bases and what looks like a merc biker, so a box of 2 merc bikers and another box of 4, plus another single blister?

Unfortunately I'm not hopeful for anything Haqq, since the Druze spitfire is effectively the Haqq release this month. Not that that is a bad thing.

i liked the bolt myself too, I bought the blister. There are nice on picture.
The gak happen when i put the dude bolt next to my guarda di asalto, he's bulkier ! And when i compare the size of the combi with all other combi of the range etc ..

if for you, an MI bulkier than an ILO is okay
if for you, different size for the same weapon inside the same unit is okay
then I surrend.

Well, yes you have made the point several times now. Personally, I hope you don't stop painting Infinity stuff as your work in the gallery is fantastic (even if your table-manners could do with a little work )

Also, not sure I see the move towards 'guns and boobs' as you put it - the Morats 'character' might have changed, but they are arguably far superior sculpts to the original versions. It's no surprise to hear that they are selling so well.

It is a rare thing when I have to place a "Rule #1" reminder in any INFINITY thread on Dakka Dakka, but here we are.

I wouldn't even say arguably. Whether you like the new Morat design or not, the quality of the sculpt is far superior.

I suppose that fluffwise, one could argue that the Bolts are using weapons from a different manufacturer, thus their weapons look different. It would explain why the boarding shotgun and the spitfire look so different. I mean, geez, the spitfire's gone from being a a weapon that could be fired one-handed (Guarda de Assalto & Order Sergeants) to being the two handed LMG sized beast that Bolt is carrying.

I think we all agree that the weapon charts and classifications in Infinity almost universally refer to a class of weaponry rather than a specific make or model. There's no way in hell that PanO Combi rifles and Nomad Combi rifles and Morat Combi rifles are the same gun, they just have similar performance as far as the rules go.

The difference in scale has gotten odd. Should I put Rao next to my heavy infantry he will look bulkier. I don't understand why Corvus Beli decided to increase the scale. I am rather fond on the past scale and subtle differences across the range.

I'll get the box, eventually. Would prefer Fusiliers, Regulars, new Bagh Mari, missing light TAG, anything else really, wouldn't even mind if we skipped another month.

Hunh. I'm not a fan of those NeoTerra at all. Partly because the belly plate looks like like a boiler plate; solid and slab-like. I don't think the paint job helps.

Fortunately misses are rare, and I'm probably in the minority.

Weapons randomly getting bigger could be tied to some models being randomly bigger because CB wants some models to be bigger. Your example of Rao fits with Tarik. Tarik is huge next to a regular Ghulam - and his rifle and sword are proportionally bigger as well.

The female Bolt being smaller and having a proportionally smaller rifle - or the male bolts being bigger and having proportionally bigger rfiles - could be a side effect of 3D modelling. Someone decided either the female needed to be smaller in stature, or the males bigger in stature, and so they scaled it down at the 3D sculpt stage, either not realising or not thinking anyone would mind that the rifle scaled up or down too. Same with Tarik - someone might have decided he needed to be Ajax scale for impressiveness, so they scaled the overall sculpt up, but the same thing happened to the weapon.

It could simply be Corvus Belli still finding their feet with 3D sculpts for infantry.

Or maybe she has a carbine version of the males full size weapons...such as a M4 compared to a M16?? Just a thought...On topic though I think they are great and will need to get a Neoterran Capitaline Army soon with a focus on the bolts!
