Just watched the first 14 episodes of Hetalia: Axis Powers. Don't know if that counts, I'm new to all this

Really liking Germany and Japan! Austria's a laugh too.

I've only seen clips of Hetalia, but I love it. My favourites are probably England, Japan, Russia, and of course Italy. PASTAAAAAAAAA!

I do have a bit of a soft spot for China and his hilariously obnixious attitude.

Hetalia is one of the few series I have seen where I have preferred the dub to the sub, mainly because the dub voice actors actually sound like they're interested, and partly due to the nature of the show (absurdly overblown national stereotypes and deliberately exaggerated accents are funnier in your own language).

Episode 17 0f SAO, really liking it, also watching clannad afterstory (I will finish it eventually) and Akaneiro ni Somaru Saka. And gonna start angel beats

Edit: also watching Tonari No Kaibutsu-kun, love the manga so giving the anime a go

Yeah I noticed he switches out female companions pretty much every episode.

The best part is when one of them comments later on that he obviously doesn't have many female friends. I'm pretty sure it wasn't even intended sarcastically but was supposed to comment on his social awkwardness and they meant it as some factual statement about the character.

Yeah... considering he has about as many female friends as there are episodes... XD I actually just saw the ep where Asuna says that, I think she might have meant it hopefully tbh

As an aside I love seeing a legit battle couple trope played out as fully as they do in SAO, it's epic. Not to mention it's an actual healthy, developing... human, relationship in an anime, that's fecking awesome.

Edit: Just finished the Yui episodes and I now have ALL the feels.

Wait is episode 15 the start of the the new season or not? I also felt the same I agree with what was said before, that the second arc isn't looking as good as the first for me, and that they will have to do something to keep me interested. But if you all remember correctly there was quite a bit of filler in the first season towards the end, so maybe they are just getting it out early?

And the incest thing is a common trope in Japanese juvenille fiction. We all know he won't because the ending is kind of a forgone conclusion we've already accepted, but she still has a crush on him.

I was worried based off of the beginning of the first season that the show might turn into a tenchi muyo harem thing. Luckily that turned out not to be the case.
Also are the novels any different than the anime? Like did they cut stuff?

I'm leafing through them and it seems like a very faithful adaption so far. Especially with the CANON COUPLE and their CANON status.

Another nutty visual novel I want to check out is Yandere-Chan. It's a relatively short adventure where you control a hapless schoolboy who meets his childhood friend in high school. The catch is that despite being adorable, she's violently insane and murderously clingy. Literally. If she thinks you're cheating on her she will stab you to death with a pair of scissors. For that matter, it takes very little to set her off. Offering to wipe off a patch of dried blood from her calculator, not seeing her often enough, or even getting her name wrong when you reunite with her at the start of the game can all prove fatal.

Simply put, it looks sheer brilliance. Melissia would probably hate it though.

There's probably plenty of sane, perfectly normal ones out there, but nobody is interested in normal, so only the weird/disturbing/violent ones get imported.

Also, Yandere-Chan is a parody of the "murderous girlfriend" stereotype.

On a side note, I want to restate my recommendation for Girls und Panzer, this is awesome.

Indeed. It's been running wild in the World of Tanks forums. Mostly because, well... it's world of tanks, the anime.

Girls Und Panzer does look fun, might check it out.

It's good, absurd fun without too much cheesecake (so far). It takes itself just seriously enough to not be obnoxious but not so seriously that it quite becomes creepy.
