OK, not an anime, but a visual novel: I downloaded Corpse Party for my PS Vita. It's a fun game, and the puzzles are cool, but it's pretty depressing at times. Except when the chibi proportioned gameplay graphics aren't making the random acts of violence hilarious, rather than horrific. Obviously the PC-98 platform had limitations and it's unfair to gripe on them, but the poor teacher being squashed under the cupboard and Seiko hanging from a noose in a toilet stall looked far funnier than they should. Even the detailed drawing of Seiko's death was kinda ruined by the "deeeeerrrrrrrp" expression they gave her. I half expected her to start going "I'm not dead!" ala Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Actually, that's the best crossover idea ever.

Still, great game, and it is genuinely creepy and heartbreaking at times, if you can look past the limited graphics and chibi gore. It's available on PSN, and is also on physical release for the PSP.

I kinda don't. The two seasons that have been are some of my favorites in anime.
Adding more just increases the odds that they'd massively feth it up.
While it does increase the odds that something goes wrong, not doing anything is in itself a sin and is a guarantee that I wont be satisfied. I would prefer that they finished it off and I'm sure there are many that would squee at an announcement of a 3rd season. The light novels are available in English but are all but unobtainable from where I'm at. (plus a certain degree of money and effort would be needed).

Trying to read the different reviews hurt. It looks like you ether love it or hate it, and most people hate it judging by the average rating, however, the two review that support it the most are the most respected. I am so confused.

Yes, despite the internet back-draft that happened during the end of the series, I quite enjoyed it. I read the first few novels now and I still can't see what all the complaining was about. It was true to the novel and the pacing was realistic. I can't see how you could have gotten 2 episodes out of some of those chapters.
The last ones I saw... The remake of Appleseed and its sequel. I also saw Vexielle (sp?). Not too bad. Much better than the stuff I used to see in the '90's.
I'm feeling a Cowboy Bebop marathon coming on. Been a long time since I saw those.

@Grey Templar. The final 2 episodes are going to released together in march, after the current season is finished. It was the earliest slots they could get since all the winter 2013 spots had been timetabled in already. Its kinda sad that the studio had so much crap happen that they lost not just one week of productivity last year but two.

Reasoning: Manages a haram of lovely women, any one of whom can cause devastation on an interplanetary scale. And then there's these three.
There's also the fact at the end of the OAVs he becomes an actual God before the events that lead to it are reversed in a massive rewind of time.
Minato Sahashi, my runner up suggestion, has an amazing bevy ofsuper-humanly powerfulbouncy beauties, but he wishes he had Tenchi's level of personal badass.
In fact, one of the most common endings to a harem anime is known as the Tenchi Solution for a Reason.

The anime is toaru majutsu no index. I found it good, but some people found it dropping off in the second season. Based on a series of light novels so you could keep going after the series has finished. I believe the two seasons cover volumes 1-14. correct me if I'm wrong.
Edit: you might find Toaru Kagaku no Railgun good if you enjoy. this is one of the few anime I can name which has a legit spinoff. Its aimed more towards girls and is much more slice of life than shonen in flavor. gak still explodes every so often though.

I will second Tenchi though. I believe it's in the GXP spin off that they mention Tenchi's house is the largest concentration of sheer power political and otherwise in the known universe. (in the OVA continuity).

Ayeka - Crown Princess of Jurai and all the power that comes with it, not a slouch in a fight herself.
Ryoko - High powered space pirate, an international grade force in her own right who can fight Galaxy Police fleets and win in the time it takes you to get your morning coffee. "Daughter" of Washu, mad scientist and no gak goddess.
Sasami - Another princess of Jurai (bringing the royalty count to 2 so far in this list) and is alluded to being merged (okay they say it out right) with the Goddess Tsunami.
Mihoshi - Galaxy Police detective, bum, over eater and ditz, also happens to be the daughter of the man in charge of the Galaxy Police and part of an extremely powerful family.
Washu - Mad scientist, goddess, nut case, need we say more?
Tenchi himself ends up as a Jurai prince and can do EVERYTHING they can do, only better since he doesn't need to haul a tree around with him to get gak done.
Two princesses, a space pirate more powerful then a lot of galactic nations, a cop/heir to a powerful family on the galactic scale, and two goddesses.

I agree that tenchi muyo, the original series, is the best harem made. That being said I don't particularly harem anime, and the only reason I like tenchi muyo is because I remember it had other good qualities.
I think Sword Art Online deserves an honorable mention. It isn't really a harem, but the main character does get involved in the lives of several women throughout the show, and always seems to attract them for no reason. The reason I think it deserves mention is because one of the girls after the main characters heart happens to be his sister...ya they went there lol
Was a second season for Sekirei ever made? I only ever saw the first. It was amusing/possessed significant eye candy at least while being otherwise completely forgettable.

Yes, there is a second season of Sekirei, and a one ep OAV that came on the BR. The TV series gets us about 2/3rds of the way through the Manga, which has not yet concluded.
Like many anime, the Manga is better (though with significantly less 'boing').
BTW: Has anyone noticed that Pandora Hearts jumped the shark and is heading toward 40k levels of grimdark?
