Thatwas insane - I loved it!

Speaking of insane, I finally started Kill la Kill... wow... words fail me.

They basically clunked the first three episodes into 20 minutes... And yet... Nothing feels like its missing (which is the point lol)

Damn you AoT why did you drag gak out so much XD

OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

TFS is doing AoT!?!?!?!

I know what I'm watching after class/Moot Court tonight! WHOOOOOOO!!

TFS is, in my opinion, far and away the best in the business. DBZ abridged has been amazing, and only gotten better with time. Hellsing Abridged is probably the best abridged series of all time, which makes sense because you've got the best in the biz spending a full year on each episode. AoT should be amazing.

Animes I'm currently watching:
- Kill La Kill
- Shiki (way behind)
- Needless (similar to Scryed in many ways, only 4 episodes in, and the ending credits are like o_0 wat?)
- Arpeggio of Blue Steel
- IS2

I have a few more I want to watch, but I think that's enough for now.

I've never really been able to watch any of the long Shonen Jump animes (Bleach, Naruto, etc., heck even DBZ), because they just drag things out. I do like reading them though. The benefit there is that I can quickly chew through them, and I can chew through almost an entire volume in the time it takes to watch an episode that is many 1/12 of a volume (or, if it's wordy, about 1/6).

I've decided I actually like One Piece - I's a bit kid-friendly so far, but it's good for lighthearted slapstick...
And Kill la Kill is insane but great fun - though it's not something I'd watch with the grandparents

To be fair, about 98% of animes I'd avoid watching with grandparents.

Unless you've got super cool grandparents.

Read I's waaaaayyyy back in the day, can't remember all the small points, but I remember it being decent, though perhaps dragging a bit. It might have had something to do with having to wait 2 months for each new volume, but I can't quite remember.

And all my books are in boxes in the attic and hour drive away, so I can't exactly go back and check

Aahh, I nearly cried with the Drill Sergeant part. So much laughter.

Well, since we are comparing what we are currently watching:

"Fall Season" - Starting Thursday until Wednesday:
- Kill la Kill (my favorite one this season, no doubt about it)
- Galilei Donna
- Golden Time
- Infinite Stratos 2
- Yuushibu
- Log Horizon
- Ace of Diamond
- Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai!
- Walkure Romanze
- Gingitsune
- Unbreakable Machine-Doll
- Non Non Biyori (2nd best)
- Tokyo Ravens
- Miss Monochrome (eh, this one is interesting. It's the first "gag" anime I ever saw. The eps are only 4 minutes each, and that's counting with the ending).

"Not fall-season"
- Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (only missing the OVAs)
Starting "Eden of the East" after that one.

Not sure on the seasons, but:

Kill la Kill

Desert Punk
And I'm re-watching Sora No Woto for Veterans Day.

I haven't decided if I want to start IS or Beyond the Boundary next. IS has been on my list longer, so probably that.

Well, Kill la Kill never stops being this Fall's best anime for me. Damn, what an episode

Spoiler:
Plot development, Mako being a badass with an equally badass uniform, Lady Satsuki, praised be her name, once again shows why she's the boss and next week seems to be a very funny filler episode from what we can glimpse from the preview.

And aparently Mako's uniform is one huge reference to Jojo's Bizarre Adventure... I really have to watch this one day, Touhou is filled with references too...

Was it just me, or was IS2 ep.7 really short? It was like 16 minutes, with 4 of those minutes being the end credits. Did I watch some promotional video and not a real episode? I'm so confused.

I think we always knew that Linda senpai wasn't going to be winning the day here. Koko-san might be a little nuts but the OP and EP make it clear that by the will of God Koko and Banri are OTP. Yes, you are absolutely right, it was almost a given, but still, Linda-senpai looks so much better in all possible aspects. It's going to be very interesting if his old-personality returns. gak is gonna hit the fan.

Contuining the Golden Time discussion:

Spoiler:
I don't think it's going to return, and if it does I think it won't kill off the "new" Tada Banri, he'll have the memories back, but the new personality is here to stay. I think there will be conflict from that if it happens, and conflict with Linda as she tries to work out how she feels about Banri (new) and mourn Banri (Old) while Koko hopefully will find some balance in herself, she's a tumultuous creature by her nature, and that type of relationship burns hot but burns out, it can leave everyone involved exhausted and tired and ultimately unfullfilled. Koko needs to learn how to have her own life and define herself, by herself, before she can really love any one. This is actually mirrored nicely in Banri as his entire character is seeking a new definition and understand of who he is, and where he fits in the world, especially a world that had a man with his name and face walking around in it so shortly before. Koko and Banri both need self resolution so they can actually give of themselves to each other. Part of Banri getting resolution will probably be sorting thing with Linda and giving her closure.

Just finished the season finale of Korra*. Gotta say, I liked this season a whole lot more than season 1. One felt kind of rushed but this one had much better pacing. The two parter of how the Avatar came to be may be one of my favorite hours of television.

Well, seeing as I was looking for 'dark' anime/fanfiction just a while ago, and the Avatar-verse has been brought up, I might as well put this up for 'review'.

Golden Time:
Spoiler:
I see you have given it some thought. It can very well go that way (eck, even her father didn't want her to date Banri because she's well, herserlf!) so we may see some problems in their relationship later on. Still, this anime is being fantastic when it comes to surprise us, I can honestly say I was expecting Koko to enter his house near the end and create instant drama... because that's what always happens! I'm very positively surprised each episode.

That was what I thought when I saw the first ep. I wondered if the author had someone in his family with the same predicament, maybe a grandfather after WW2. It just looks so much like it.

And this week's ep:
Spoiler:
The whole big store with extra low prices arc keeps reminding me so much of the old FLGS vs Online stores situation: In one corner we have their store, small, with no possibility of selling their wares extra low but with a fantastic staff, helpful, friendly, the whole social component. In the other, we have the megastore, the online stores, with great prices but without the social component, here we have God-Emperor knows how many employees trained to throw the "big words" and the "special features" of each device, unable to give special attention to each and every client and treat them as someone special. As someone who'd love owning a FLGS this is being very interesting and I wonder if they'll keep it semi-serious or go for the random-lulz.

I'm really enjoying it, fan-service and all and because I think it's the prettiest anime this season. So many colors, so bright, seriously, just the eyes blow me away, they are so full of color. I keep thinking about using some of their color combinations for miniature painting:

There are only 14 episodes in Book 2. Last episode is called Light in the Darkness. The season finale aired online last night (will air on TV on the 22nd).

Seeing people talk about Golden Time got me to look at it, and being in law school myself, I thought "hey, why not."

I'm at the start of episode 5 right now.

WHAT.

THE.

F%^&!?

Spoiler:

So there's a dude, who's going to law school, and he meets another dude, whose childhood friend is a tsundere and wants to marry the guy, and followed him to the university.

Pretty standard fare.

Then there's a tea club full of tsunderes who try to recruit the main character. And then a cult. And apparently the main character is an amnesiac. With a ghost of his former self following him around!?

What in the eff is going on? Can't. Stop. Watching.
