See, my theory is this: If they'd made the Gungans actually speak, you know, an alien language, instead of giving them that weird accent, they'd have been much, much more tolerable, and possibly even good!

Look at it this way- we've got Chewbacca, who does almost nothing but sit around and occasionally shoot stuff, and roar/growl/warble. He's a more calm counterpart to (English speaking) Wisecracking Han. We've got R2D2, who beeps, burbles, and whistles, and is adventurous and somewhat foolhardy, who acts as the counterpart to fussy, chatty C3P0. We've got Nien Nunb, who is, again, a calm, confident counterpart to Calrissian, speaking Haya and Kikuyu, instead of English. So, here in the prequels, we have a couple of calm, confident, highly skilled Jedi. Who should their counterpart be? The one to highlight their best qualities, but also subtly make fun of them as well? A bumbling, good natured, clumbsy outcast would be perfect- if he didn't speak English, and instead needed to be interpreted through body language and other's views of him. Also, he should have been a bit more free-spirited, again, to counter the Jedi's more uptight nature.

totally agree with you... it sounds as if lucas took writing lessons from a disney developers group... thnka the lords that he skipped the singing...

being from the young generation that isnt as angry at episodes I, II, and III, I still must admit 2 things pissed me off, 1. HAN SHOT FIRST! 2.Last scene with all the jedi ghosts.. old Obiwan, Old Yoda.. young Anaken??!?! wherest the logic?

Well to piss of the fans ultimately but in reality to tie the films together for the new fans, what a load of crap merchandising was the call on that one .

I understand they are George Lucas films but it was the fans that payed his bloody wages.

as a fan of the novels beyond the movies i can tell you pretty much his writers are out of ideas too:

1. SECOND CIVIL WAR! with Lukes Nephew turning to the darkside
2. Killing of Chewie
3. Killing of Anakin Solo (youngest son of han and leia)
4. Killing of Lukes wife Mara Jade
5. Firing Karen Travis from the "Republic commando series" for her visions not agreeing with George lucas
6. NEW MANDOLORE in the cartoons (WTF??!)
7. New Jedi spiritual Ghost Influencing politics in the star wars galaxy (See: Newest series of books)
8. Yuuzhan Vong (which was pretty cool, but fethed up the whole galaxy in universe)
9. Killik wars (Filler)
10. Star wars: The clone wars series (Burn it with fire )

Hey guys! Kick Ass conversation! I totally agree with you, Star Wars has gone WAY down on my favorite movies list. Sad really.

I finally got some pictures taken! I had to wait for a nice sunny day that I wasn't working. Doesn't happen often here.

So here are some pictures of the Heresy investigator: Fist few will show all the different pieces, and the last ones will show it assembled.









I still want to do something with the lizard's head...it looks off. And I have a few more rivets to add to the hammer head.

what??? i read the new young jedi storyline for quite some time... then it somehow faded out of my view... but that... i always assumed young anakin would be the new luke... also i thought he would be the savior as jacen went to the dark side... poor sod... and thankfully i haven´t read that yet...

the femal heresy investigator looks very ace!...the backpack is looking really cool...so much detail!...the lizard is an awesome touch... if you want to do something here i only can think of optics for that critter...fitting as he already has bionic limbs as it seems...

both arms of the FHI look so cool...fingers of the powerfist are high detail... and the other arm... is that pure bionic? very good looking!!!

also... dunno if we have seen the hairdo already to that extent... looks very cool... i bet she is a stunning women...

sorry for taking a step back in conversation for a second but if han was in fear for his life he could shoot greedo without it being murder, Han's life was in imminent risk (either greedo was going to shoot and kill him or he was going to kidnap him and take him to Jabba who would have killed him) he can act in self defence... so he's not a murderer after all.

Guys... I made a mistake of reading that SW chatter and now... I'm ruined... WHY?!? Why should I want to live in a world where is no logic?!? How can some one care so little about his own finest creation? Burn in hell Lucas... Indifference is the worst of crimes! I knew about Chewie's death and I naively thought that Yuuzhan Vong is the worst & lame thing that can happen to a setting... But doing such things to KIDS?!? That's not 40k! There should be HOPE... please.... hope...

well lucas named the first movie a new hope... wellwe moved on from that one to despair i guess...

Honestly, I'm happyto stick with the movies and let my OWN imagination take care of the rest.

This was the point I was getting at (in around about way ) George suddenly decided that it was portraying Han Solo in the wrong way, it gave young viewers the wrong ethics in life that it was ok to kill, never mind his own life was at risk and certain death would be his outcome.

His only option was to kill or be killed simple, I have no issue with that or kids watching it.

However the left arm ( looking form the mini perspective) the fingers look a little odd not sure if it is just the camera angle, or is it meant to be more a claw than a hand ?

The legs are full of great detail and I like the fact actual movement has been considered when it came to detail greta job mate

Yes Jake, sorry... I was too heartbroken to comment on something else... I love the torso part without questions and I think with the other parts you'll do just fine. The haircut is also lovely and fitting.

Hey everyone! No worries on the Star Wars Thread Jack. If it was something silly or too far off topic I would have said something. I think Star Wars and 40k go great together! Even if we all seem to not like the current direction of the SW story line. Episodes 4 5 & 6 will ALWAYS be 1 2 & 3 to me!

El Vik - Optics for the lizard is a great idea! I'll work on that!

LDD - The model's left arm is supposed to look kind of claw-like, sort of. The actual fingers would be inside the wrist area, and the power fist fingers are only mechanical prosthetics. At least that is the way I have always thought of them. So, yeah, they are supposed to look kind of un-natural.

Or just think of her as flexing her fingers in a kind of "Oh I am going to hurt you" sort of thing.

Skalk - Yes, I am going with the "+5 Bikini of Protection" theory here!

I have done a bit here and there on my Plague Bikers too, but nothing to show yet.

I have some time to work on the lizard head today, and if I can stay away from Call of Duty MW3, I might actually get something done!
