I think you might be right but I think they are trying to use more original aspects as to design and effects, although I will believe it when I see it and it is just rumours at this stage.

Yes but thats just location shooting, the majority of set and studio work was done in the UK although the CGI work was all US based I thought.

Well, location shoots are usually a small part of any movie, as set and studio is a larger section of the movies make up.
Plus location shoots cost more money and drive up expense, which is why they keep it to a minimum.

I ruined my back last Sunday, which has meant no fight work and no bending over a hobby desk, I have missed you all. Gingerly tried some kit bashing today but only managed about half an hour.

Both WIP, nothing particularly new or exciting from previous work, just another scavvy and bounty hunter.

@theophony the top half is from one of the heads in the chaos spawn kit, the jaw is from one of the tied up severed heads from the vampire counts sprue, I think the zombies???

@LDD - thats right you are bang on dude. It works really well actually and could be for either universe. I'm thinking of trying the same combo to make a witch hunter for Mordheim.

1am inspiration. I have been producing a steady stream of bounty hunter models with no real purpose, then I realised I could tweak them and start a freebooter gang.

I am massively excited about this idea. Space pirates have always filled me with joy and I don't know why I have never tried to make this gang before.

Working off the two miniatures produced today I think I may have a captain and an astropath / navigator. It is an excellent opportunity to build all kinds of low down dirty xenos scum suckas. This s going to be fun

I like him a lot, although I'm not completely sold on the sword arm - look a little unwieldy. A Cadian arm might work better?

I like the idea of the freebooter gang I might even join you on this trail of thought as I have been mulling over Space Pirate idea for a while myself

Also the witch hunter is worth experimenting with I just love the concept art GW has for them, you may have hit on a good way of developing that look into minis

I think the arm works all right for the freebooter theme, maybe add a parrot though

Sounds like a good idea motivation is not a strong point of mine maybe with a push it might help me put my ideas into effect

What kind of approach are you intending gang, character, vessel and crew ect, or was you referring to the witch hunters ?

Either way might be nice to try this approach, plus I like the idea of bouncing characters of others creations and themes

I will drag my bits boxes out and start the rummage

@LDD I have a couple of ideas that I will post on here presently, eitger revolving around the ship being damaged so they are marooned until it gets fixed or that they are searching for a missing crew member that stole a valuable piece of archeotech and they have been tracking him for years across the galaxy

I kind of had an idea based around a crew on intergalactic hauliers that turned rouge, based on criminal intent with a knowledge of wealthy shipments and space travel routes.

This way it leaves it open for alternative races and equipment design.

I like the new guy I am thinking a mini gun of sorts would be cool.

I was thinking beastmen as a loader but was going to the Tau root rather than Kroot for one of my crew, also an ogre as the heavy loader and ship muscle.

Maybe even invent a few races my self, I am hoping to start this weekend coming on my crew might have a little spare time

BTW, I was hunting for other random stuff this morning and found a harpoon head from the WM black ogrun pirates. If you want it, lmk, and I'll dig it out again and stick in the post. Alternatively, a deldar harpoon would work.
