I was being petulant when I asked for both. There was never any promise of both.
I know people would have asked for both anyway even if I didn't. But since I said it first I feel obliged to point out the above.
With that in mind, since it's a choice between the two, I say universal rifle stocks. Dedicated matching gun arms would be far more useful then mauls since they'd be harder to make fit they shields. CCWs are comparatively easy to make.

Five squads of penal guard are on the to-order list somewhere down the line as conscripts. Leave it to GW to remove a perfectly viable option from the codex.

Also it's not a component any other company is offering as far as I know. That, and the shield has a gun loop, so we might as well have a gun to go with it.

But seriously Vic. You make females of all your stuff, you've got guaranteed sales to me. I'm loving my arcadians.
Love the Daniverse, and I suspect many in this thread do also! The Ghosts' novels were a great inspiration to to keep painting when I was making my guard armies. Abnet isn't Shakespeare, but he's better than most pulp-sci-fi writers and certainly one of the best that the GW has access to. The Eisenhorn and Ravenor are some of the best fiction GW has ever had and Dan's work is some of the only (alongside the Horus Heresy books) Black Library writing that I keep after reading.

Well, I have to say I have lost quite the number of men in CC with potent troops, but when mobbed up in a platoon of say 30 some odds and sods, I still managed to take out SM/Eldar/ DE/and such mainly due to attrition numbers which is so much part of the Guards' flavor. Oddly enough, I only had to use the Commisar rules once in all the battles(The head shot one that is).

With a priest they do really well against most units except for really powerful CC ones that can be tooled to counter them (something like warp talons that have shred and an AP weapon would be devestating). For example, verse 20 regular boys with sluggas they will generate around 80 attacks total with furious charge. Mathematically, thanks to Toughness and rerolling saves due to the priest, the bullgryns will suffer around 2-3 wounds total. The Bone'ed is likely to kill a Nob with a Power Klaw during a challenge before he attacks especially if he has a maul.
The problem is they are expensive. They cost more than terminators with whom they should share the same price. Their cover save rule is pretty awesome. The Ogrynstar unit is pretty great as well.

Well the good news on the wheels is that the new, missing parts, should be at the caster's already, or there tomorrow. Which means in the next few days she can start making the moulds (which surprised me as to how complicated it is) and then casting replacement parts for V.

Holy smokes there's a lot of things in the new releases section that I hadn't noticed before. Spare chainswords, ranger and highlander specific torsos, scopes, new pieces of kit, holy shmoley. Was this all added in the most recent update?
oh yeah and my vote for the shields would be universal rifle arms. I would probably model some guys up with shotguns to represent a carapace armored vet squad or arbites if I had that.

ninja'd ! Thanks for posting BrookM.
Here's the blurb:
Following hot on the heels of last week's Heavy Artillery release I'm very happy to present a great new wave of Victoria Miniatures hand weapons sculpted by Jake Schneider. This includes a terrific new digital version of our Fusion Gun, plus a Bolt pistol, Chain Swords, Sabres and Laser Gun Mk3. This is a pistol grip adaption of Laser Rifle Mk1. There is a set of gun sights that can be added to these weapons, As well as a very nice guard sized Riot Shield.
Empty rifle arms are on the way in a near future release that will fit all these cool new rifles.
Also this week are two new additions I've sculpted for the Torso Range. The Highland Guard now have a special Highland Torso sprue and the Border World Rangers have new Ranger Torsos which have cloaks attached.
cheers, V

I'm not sure, only Vic can say for certain, but I think she's waiting on releasing the bikes until the legs are done. I will be sending her renders of legs (and arms!) in the next few days to get final critique and have my guy make any last needed changes.
Yes, I have a minion now. It's friggin' SWEET!
BTW, those sights are designed for the Autogun/lasgun/sniper family Vic premiered a while back, but they should, with minor work, fit onto the Mk III as well (I can't vouch for what you'll have to tweak), and will also fit onto things like SM Bolters.
You can't see it in the picture, but the hoses on the fusion gun sit a bit off where the hand would go, so a hand can still fit in there and be used for the greater good of weapon aiming.
The chain swords are two sizes, one for the men, one for the women.
Riot shield slot is sized to fit the auto rifles.
Some of the swords have a lovely skull pommel on them. All the better for braining heretics!
And a special shout out on that pistol, it was sketched out by Ben Spaulding, aka Splod. He was richly rewarded for the concept art with both fine craft beers and some free minis.
Which moves me on to a point that V has left me to raise at my leisure, so I'll raise it now.
If you come up with a good piece of concept art (and it doesn't have to be masterfully drawn, I just need to be able to see what we're looking at and going for, and you need to be able to explain any questionable bits), AND we both like it and V wants to put it into production, you will get a shout out on here and some swag of your choice (value limit to be determined by V, and if I really love it, I might kick in some too), and get to see something of "yours" in production. What needs to be understood is that some times things will need to be changed either for moulding, the technology, or tweaks to fit V's aesthetic senses.
If you have good ideas, send them to me and I'll take the good ones and the ones with potential to V, and knock heads together. The reason I say send them to me is that I check more often, I have a better idea of what's feasible with the technology, and V is busier than a one legged woman in an arse kicking contest most of the time.
Cheers!
Faolan
