How did you build the weapon?

Hey thanks! The gun was built primarily with plasticcard and plastic tube. Brass rings, I forgot where I got them from but they are straight out of a bag nothing fancy converting here. And the aquila is from the Small brass aquila set from Forge World. Hope that helps!

And now.. Before I start painting the Ogryns.

Tanks!

Here is the Eradicator finished:

Nice work, those tanks together look even better. I love the freehand on the Eradicator.

Those thanks look great. I have to say, most people who scratchbuild their own stuff, or base their stuff on other models do not have vehicles that look very 40k, IMHO. But those look different and cool, yet would fit right in. Great job!

I totally agree with Valhalla130. Your work really keeps the feel of grimdark. And, again, your painting is fantastic.

The latest tanks is amazing! Loving the subtle battle damage and all the freehand details. The ogryn looks great as well, some excellent blending going on with the fabric by the looks of it.

Finland... the country next to Sweden? No! That's Norway! Finland is to the east! No! That's Russia!

I'd love to play a game against your army with my DKOK.
Really nice work on sculpting the ogryns, and your paintjob is smooth... maybe even a little cartoony, which is not a bad thing at all

Sweet Jesus, Nurgle and Slaanesh in the same box!?
No, just Nurgle and Slaanesh, Jesus will be sold seperately in a blister.

All the progress looks fantastic. This is one of my favorite threads here on dakka. Your bright painting and heavily stylized approach is really inspiring to see!! Thanks!

Woow! some great dakkanauts commenting here, really means much to me guys!

@Slugga: that's one of my painting traits I guess, been hearing that for a long time now :p I Don't mind it though!

I have painted the second Ogryn:

@ Migs, I wanted to make a comparison shot but not with the first one though. this comparison shot is a little cooler IMO because they kinda look similair in posing

Now all that's left are the Ogryn Banner bearer and Bone 'ead

Comrade Ogryn is looking real dapper there. and i do love the tanks, but what kind of stuff did you use as a base for them? or is that just a mediculusly crafted shell made out of plasticard too?

Keep this one up mate, it's jaw-droppingly gorgeos all the way through

Yes, It's made entirely out of plasticcard

Thanks man, glad you're enjoying it!

Nice ogryn, and the idea of giving him a chainsword is also neat, and not something I've seen before. Both of them look really cool, and next to the guardsman, properly bulky, while still remaining in proportion. Again, nice work!.

I love the painting for the ogryn. It's so crisp and picks out the details perfectly. Well done!

Little preview of whats to come after the Ogryns:

Objective markers painted:

And also a Relic marker. Found a pillar I bought some time ago, cut the base of it to make it look like a plateau. Added a broken sword (little lame, but ok) and voila!

Love the objective markers, and the sword is definitely going to remind people of LOTR. That's a neat touch actually.

First thing I thought was Lord of the Rings and Aragorn's sword. I really like that objective marker. I'm stealing that idea.

Thanks guys!

This is the start of the end of this project.

Here is the Commissar tank turret almost finished:

Need to fix a Hunter Killer missile to the turret, don't know yet how I want it fixed on it though..

Enjoy!

The work on that Commissar Tank is great, the freehand is cool and the commissar on top is full of character. I can also imagine him using that storm bolter for mass executions... I bet no one fall back while he's around, he'd mow down the whole platoon, not just the sergeants!

Gorgeous. What a great choice with the sea green to compliment the palette. As far as the missile...youve somewhat painted yourself into a corner eh? Youve got so much great detail on the one side, and as far as balance is concerned, you dont want it too close to the busy areas on top, id imagine. (not to mention, realistically, itd probably kill the commissar upon ignition). Id say your best bet is just above the 91 (assuming that panel is flat and even with the chassis, and not at an angle, its hard to tell). I dunno sir, quite a dilemma....well lets see whatcha do?!

Very nice models! Particularly the ogryn, the mirrored pose is a nice touch in the scale shot! however it's those tank turrets which are the best, they add a really distinct identity to your tanks. My only criticism is that the plasma coil on the commissars tank could be a bit more glowy, maybe more intense highlights or a go at OSL?

Yeah I have been thinking about adding an extra light layer to make the glow stand out a little more, when I painted it I thought it was good enough, but now that I see it on the pictures I'm having doubts too. More on that later!

Yeah Dev, great placement on the missle. You tackled it perfectly. As for the osl idea, ...im against it. i think it looks just great the way it is as your style is neat and very tidy. Adding osl i think would contradict the overall design of your palette. Thats just my two cents and clearly whatever you intend to do will look great.
