We just submitted our events for GenCon. Planning on the same thing for both friday and saturday..

1-5pm will be 4 1-hour blocks for demo/intro games. These will be 2 1-on-1 games where you and a friend or stranger can play the game and I'll talk you through the rules as you go. We'll supply the minis and everything you need. We'll leave out some of the more advanced rules like morale, and mostly just focus on the core mechanics. Mostly meant for new players.

then from 6-8 PM we'll have the Gang War game both nights. This will be a 4-on-4 team game, 5 models (1 starter gang) per side, or maybe 6 models to throw in a hired gun for each. The object is just to wipe out the other side, last team standing wins. Points will be awarded for taking out enemies, holding objectives or collecting loot. Whoever gets the most points at the end wins a special prize, plus glory and fame. This winner could be someone on the losing team if he happened to score enough points before getting wiped out. This game will be on a 8' x 2' board (well, 8 x however wide the table is), with a train going down the middle if I can get a suitable model in time. We can supply the minis and everything else, but if you bring your own fully painted gang of BWG minis you will get extra points New players welcome, but experience will help make things go smoother

So, Game Salute has closed down the Pledge Manager. They're going to be gathering up everyone's orders so we know what we need and start ordering the 3rd party stuff. I know last time around it took a good 8-9 weeks to get the dice made, buildings took just as long. Hopefully when they're done we'll also have a bunch of figures ready to go too so we can start sending some orders out early

Automatically Appended Next Post:
oh .. 1 more thing. I have an explosive new scenario I'm going to be finishing up in the next week or so that will be a downloadable PDF. Planning to add something new like that, or a painting or modeling guide or whatever else at least once every month. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions for what you'd like to see let me know

Can you please PM me a timeline of when this stuff will be in stores? I'd like to hurry up and get some stuff up and running. I have a few people interested in the game and I want to demo some right before it comes to stores.

So far, my Reaper crews are up and running, but it would be more fitting to have either some boxes, or some figures along for the look.

Miner 49'er Vs claim Jumpers is always a good one. I took some pebbles and glued them to the smaller square bases and painted them gold. Spread them around the table and run those varments off, while you run around the table gathering up the gold. Easy, quick, and has a good feel to it. You can easily teach basics, and have a work out with the combat rules.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Everything from the original campaign is in stores now Not quite sure which stores are actively stocking it yet, but at the very least you can find a list of stores that could order it at GameStoreLocator.com.

I'm hoping we can have all of the new box sets from the new campaign ready for retail in time for GenCon in August. After that I'm hoping we can start doing regular releases with new figures coming out each month.

So, if we hadn't filled out the pledge manager, they'll be contacting us?
I'm only asking because I don't know which ones I'm getting yet. I won't know until after all of the sculpts are finished, as I can be a bit picky. For example, I was going to get Bloodwolves in the last KS, but decided against it, once I saw the sculpts. So, at this time, i don't know which crews I want. The only one I'm certain about are the Rangers.

Or, are you saying that they'll just be checking on add-ons?

Thanks.

Eric

They closed it so they can start figuring out how many of each item we're going to need. But they also said they will be contacting everyone manually who didn't use the pledge manager so you'll probably get an email or KS message from Game Salute soon

I'm hoping we'll have most of the sculpts done by the end of the month.. that was my deadline, let's see which sculptors decide to be late ... The only one that might be late for sure is the Widowmakers, they ended up getting handed around a bunch.. they went from the very top of the list to the very bottom. Hopefully saving the best for last then...

If I may?

The lady's face screams caucasian, for some reason. I think her features are a bit too strong.

And her boots, can we square the toe a bit and make it less of a bulge? It looks like she is wearing modern combat boots, more than anything.

Yep 1 step ahead of ya. Boots are going to be more cowgirlish. I think the artwork had them more like a laced-up ladylike boot but it got lost in translation.

Still have to add the bottom tabs and the separate some of the arms. After that we'll have the Widowmakers done soon after The art for them was a little more modern, so expect some more trench coats and more westerny things for them too.

Nice looking models, but not my cup of tea.

Speaking of bottom tabs... You might want to use smaller tabs. Every model I got with the first Kickstarter (18 of them) had foot tabs that were wider than the base. I had to trim all of the tabs to be about half as deep as they came... they just stuck out from the bottom of the base.

Yeah, noticed that too. We're fixing that with the new sculpts, so newer ones won't be like that. For the 3D sculpts though we're making the tab longer so that we can add extra bitz to it if we need to.. like Corporal Thompson in Wilde's Rangers will have his rifle attached to the tab. Makes it so we can do each figure as a 1-piece cast instead of needing extra mini-sprues that drive up the costs a bit and also could get lost or they could forget to add it to the box when they pack em up. Just more efficient all around. So you might have to trim some tabs on the sides but they shouldn't be taller than the bases anymore

That's cool.
Longer would be absolutely fine with me. It makes sense. Also, it's easier to trim length than height. LOL

Good to know you're on it. Don't know why I didn't automatically assume that already were. : )

Howdy folks!

We just put together an all new scenario for you to play, Boom Went the Dynamite. In this scenario, your gangs will be fighting over crates of dynamite and if you get close enough, you can toss sticks at your enemies!

This scenario was inspired by Aetherwork's terrain, namely their crates of TNT and carts. They also make a lot of great laser cut wood building kits too.

So, you can click below to download the PDF. Have fun!

Is a bunk house where one would bunk, or to buy bunk (train fuel)?

Those are pretty cool signs... me thinks an order is inbound as I finally have my gaming table back!

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

In Western usage 'Bunk House' refers to either

a building on a ranch where the hired hands (cowboys) sleep, usually in a single open room with multiple beds

or less commonly in a town to a building where you can hire a bed for a night at much lower prices than a hotel (again this may well be a single room with muliple beds, but could have blankets/cloths hung up to act as 'walls)

Yeah it's basically like a hostel nowadays.

Guess we need a story about a bunk house where travelers stay and then get drugged and kidnapped by supermodel grils and little kids that work for candy. They wake up in a crusty old werehouse where mean skinwalkers chop them up and eat them for sport.

Celebrate International Tabletop Day at Little Shop of Magic in Las Vegas this Saturday!

Mike Edmunds will be running some special games of Blackwater Gulch. Lots of gunfights and the Clint Eastwood Challenge, see how many henchmen he can kill before someone takes him down!

So stop by and play if you're in the area!

We got photos of the last sculpt for the Tranquility Crew today, Adam James. He was the last figure we needed for the last gang and for the Kickstarter campaign.

Here's pics of each sculpt. From top to bottom we have Captain Nathan Reinholdt, Dr. Simmons, Adam James, Julie the ship's mechanic and Reverend Shepard. The whole gang was sculpted by James Van Schaik.

Also, we have the character cards all ready to go for the gang, click below to download a PDF, if you want to see what they can do!

Hey folks, got some pics of some new painted models

Here are the Dockside Drifters, followed by the hired guns Nevada Dave, Marshall Stewart and Father Al. Yep, I know I need a better pic of Al, but my camera battery died so I gotta wait for a recharge.

Anyhow, they're in the dakka gallery so you can click the pic for bigger versions. Next up I'll be working on the Secret Fist

Everything is right on schedule

We're ordering everything we need now. Iron Wind is about to start producing all of the minis and we'll have all of the 3rd party add-ons in stock soon. Backers that ordered the Battleflag building bundle will be getting their buildings separately, directly from Battleflag, but everything should be arriving around the same time.

Some day I'll actually have time to finish the redesign on my website that I started 3 months ago. For now, I'm doing 1 page at a time Here is the new Dockside Drifters gang bio page, along with a photo gallery and PDF for the character cards.

http://www.blackwatergulch.com/dockside-drifters/

Eventually going to allow players to send in photos of their own models to add to the photo galleries too. I'll have to see if there's a good automated way to do it with Flickr or Instragram or something.
