this has been painted for about a month now lols, I tried to keep it hidden for long enough but when the golden bathtub came to my attention it seemed the most viable option... considering us nids don't have unit commanders... Thanks RW, well putting right what I saw wrong with it is going well, shouldn't take much longer... plus I'm using a toothbrush this time for the weathering  I just want it finished... and it to stop fracking raining so I can get other things sprayed up  Oh and to make myself clear about re-painting the small sections of it I listed above... I basically want some of the tails colour to seep through the mud and dirt, but also, I want the saliva to be clear and not muddy... it didn't look right to me, so I've scalpaled it off and will be redoing it last. it'll have its original yellow/green tinge to it again.

Oh and opinions people... I am considering for my Tyranid Shrike unit making a base similar to the ones that Forgeworld are making for their Primarch/Special Characters in their HH range. So basically I would take one large oval base for every two shrike bases and make it so the oval bases would be magnetised to hold the 40mm bases.
the oval bases would act as a movement tray of sorts...
what do you think? too much? or just stupid?

Also... As I'm still working on my Nids, and the Callope Protectorate force/relief force has yet to be started beyond the sisters portion. I'm currently wondering If I should do an Imperial Guard: Air Force as part of the Relief section...
As I can have Vultures for fast attack, Avenger Strike Fighters as heavy support.
so i figure for a decent Air force I would do and IG list with roughly the following (I havent done points yet, as I'm about to go out, but will work it out later)...
Hq: IG command squad with Aquila Lander
Troops: Vets x2
Fast Attack: 2x Vultures with Punisher Cannons
Fast Attack: 2x Valkyries
Heavy Support: Avenger Strike Fighters x3
roughly for vehicle points cost alone it should work out as: 1060pts... thats without vehicle upgrades or the cost of the HQ and Veterans... but, it seems like a viable list too
Bring on the C.S.D.A.F. (Calliope System Defence Air-Force)... you know... I may even stencil that onto the aircraft
and for those of you who don't know the rules for the Vehicles I've mentioned above... here you go:

Just finished scanning through.
I like your tyranid colour scheme, natural and organic = good.
And as for removing / covering the eyes... Brilliant! Wish I'd thought of that earlier, little beady eyes are a pain in the nether regions to paint without giving them eye shadow... I shall try something similar for some of the remaining tyranids in my army.
The winged tyrant is good, like the pose, says "dragon" to me and the paint job is good. Also, I like the mawloc bursting out the ground, best pose I've seen, most bearly seem to be disturbing the ground that they've just crawled out of...

Lol. I'll admit I didn't read everything, although most of what I did read was still entertaining, Just looked at the pretty pictures mainly.
