I enjoyed Wings of War. I'm tentatively intrigued by this. It looks like it could be a lot of fun, but I do hope they release some other craft. As people have said, it'd be nice to have A-Wings, B-Wings, Z-95s, TIE bombers and Interceptors, etc.

There's definitely a lot of room for extra pilots (particularly EU pilots) as well, which could be cool. It'd be awesome to have Baron Soontir Fel for the Imperials, and guys like Corran Horn, Ooryl Qyrgg and Nawara Ven for the Rebels/New Republic.

I just finished re-reading Rouge Squadron the other day and with the expansions of named Characters I'm even more interested! I just want a release date already.

I'd think they'd have to do it as a spin-off, if they were hoping to keep any sense of scale - an Imperial Star Destroyer carries, what, six assorted squadrons of TIE fighters/Interceptors/Bombers?

I'm assuming on the Wedge set that the R5 unit is his personal Astromech Droid.
However, on his model he has an R2 and the profile picture for Wedge's X-Wing also has an R2 unit.

Talking with the designers at GenCon, it sounds like they're planning on working through all the options for starfighters from the original trilogy, then might foray into the EU for those. Given that they're already including the likes of Salm and Stele, I think EU pilots is pretty likely early on.

In any case, I'll be following this one with great interest.

Give me a squadron of A-wings and I'll be one happy dude. Would love to see a battle report video to see how the game works.

Agreed. The last Star Wars ship game tried to do that, and it mostly didnt work. Id like to see this game maybe get the Millennium Falcon, but nothing larger.

I'll hold out for some B-Wings, but I can see a couple of my group being interested as long as the investment isn't too high for them.

Clearly, this game needs a healthy dose of TIE Defender! It's the GK paladin of the Star Wars spacefighter universe.

So if one X-wing is worth two TIE fighters, one TIE Defender would be worth...

Sorry, while these are neat minis, I do remember the disaster of the Star Wars Starships minis from WOTC. They looked nice, but the system wasn't there to support it.

its weight in gold! Those things were so overpowered it wasn't even funny. I remember one time got locked on by a concussion missle and immediately shifted all power to engines; I actually outran the missle!

This time the rules are nice. Think Wings of Glory with quite some SW in it and they improved upon it.

The last two games by Wizkids and WotC were a joke, they were not even Dogfight games, you could have played them without the minis and there would not have been that much difference.

There are many nice designs, just think of the ARC and the Torrent.

It was also dreadful if I remember, of course this is based on X v Tie for the PC, loved it but dreadful

After looking at the prices, how much is it gonna cost to have a decent force though? It could be very expensive......

Me too, only just loses out to the A wing

Really looking forward to this, as people have commented the scale of capital ship compared to the fight in the last star war space game weren't great, the scale looks good plus the models look half decent so I'm a happy bunny

Without cap ships though, the Y-wings and B-wings don't have alot of purpose since they're bombers and any TIE can easily outmaneuver them.

The miniatures remind me of the Star Wars Micro Machines that were once available, except these look like far superior quality.
