I actually meant the blog posts he's got up showing how to assemble models from the box. Those are the characters naturally but they are going in every game box.
I'll just have to wait and see I guess. Hope it comes soon as I'm still excited. Granted I've spent the week putting together FW models and some other non-gw figures that don't fit so well but the internet images of the models don't seem to bad. We'll have to see.

After comparing them, I can say that the detail in the actual figures is pretty much the same as the ones he has (I was having trouble comparing with the small pictures on the KS page before), though the base is certainly different (they are very greasy and glossy, the one he has is too flat). The characters seem to go together rather well; the problem is with some of the other figures warping and the quality of the plastic.

Just got mine when i got home tonight. The quality of the figs is about what i was expecting so far (i have never expected a box o' resin-level figs, nor did i expect zombicide-type figs). It's fantastic sculpts cast in an ok mid-level material. I have not tried piecing anything together yet, but i did dig through the various bags like... well, like something excited that likes to dig through plastic bags. Maybe a feline hopped up on catnip. Anyways...
I took a quick cellphone picture of a few of the sedition wars figures and some figs from other ranges for size comparison. My apologies but the pic is not all that great.
The detail on the minis is actually quite good. The edges of the armor on the Vanguard are not as crisp as i'd expected, but based off the definition on the abs it might be the way it's supposed to look. The Strain fig has a lovely amount of gross detail as well. I didn't take a pic but my resin Kara is lovely and without flaw. Some resin-style flash tabs but that's normal.
The bases are a bit.. shiny, i guess, but again there's some nice detail on them. I also really like the way the infection counters socket into the bottom.
I expect everything to paint up well, the detail is solid. This isn't a box of forgeworld resins but frankly i'd take these over, say, plastic Cadians in a heartbeat. As a minor update while typing this i tried to put some together. The first trooper slotted together neatly but the big strain was a little off - nothing green stuff can't easily fix but not as nice a fit as i would have hoped. I'm sure we will hear lots of feedback on how things fit together as people really start working with the models.
Also i don't know if there's been much rules discussion, but after a quick read I think i really like it. In particular the way the Strain works, with infections and clouds of spores used both as a weapon and a currency, is pretty neat. Looking forward to getting some play time in.
another quick note- i cannot get a decent pic with this blasted phone to save my life but wanted to reassure people that the Vanguard visors do have nice edges/lines around them, it's not as soft as it looks in the pic. You can clearly make out the dividing line between the visor and the helmet and around the rebreather. The detail is a bit shallow so i think you'll need to be careful base-coating, but it's there.

Two tiles on my table, with a laptop mouse and some figs for scale:
A lone chaos marine standing guard in a dark docking bay, no doubt soon to be infected and / or eaten:
It's not *thick* cardstock but it's not flimsy. it would bow under a dreadnought (proper metal one, mind you) but any plastic figs would be fine. Also, why you would stretch it out over a gap in the first place i do not know. Board game tiles are for tables, not building bridges. From a quick flip through the manual i think you'll never need more tiles at once than can easily fit on even a folding card table.

I don't feel so confident anymore.
But I will not cry chicken little yet.
Was expecting to see the quality to be better than board game figures, but not as crisp as some of GW's minis.

Looks like normal Restik to me. But with Restik people need to get better files and stop scraping with a knive. A good quality clockmakers file with teething 4 or 6 cleans up those minis in a few minutes. Cheap files only rough it up. OK, the better files are a little bit expensive, but will last you a lifetime.
Also, as usual one needs to soak the plastic minis in soapwater for some time. That´s the usual prcedure to make sure that the removal agent is washed away and does not cause problems with paint.
Restik minis are hard tp photograph and only show their detail when primed and then photographed.
Why folks are starting to worry is beyond me.

Stat cards are 2.5 inches tall by almost 3.5 inches wide. Don't know if that's standard Magic size or not, sorry. Decent stock but i'm glad they won't need to be shuffled repeatedly. The printing on them is excellent, which is good since there's a lot of fine print.

Duncan makes a good point that they look better in person than in pictures. I've got some Trollcast stuff from Tre's kickstarter and i would say that although these are a step down in quality (not shocking since i know everyone tends to rave about trollcast), the minis have plenty of nice detail. The sculpts don't help either in the sense that these are not chunky GW figs with the sort of sharp edges and hard lines everywhere that people are used to. The Vanguard armor is sleek and the Strain are covered in organic goop, knobs, and nodules. Holding them and looking at them, i remain convinced they'll look pretty enough once they're painted up.

Another note after re-reading the manual and examining the tiles more closely. They used a thin red line along edges of scenery on the tiles to indicate low cover, and a thin blue line to indicate windows. It's a clever way to head off arguments about what is or isn't cover and the lines are not obtrusive enough to interfere with the art, although some of the blue lines were a bit hard to see without really looking for them carefully.

My box arrived today and have to say I'm very happy with the quality overall. No complaints here in the plastics, rigid and durable feeling. Can't wait to start putting models together. Did a few dry fits to see how the alignment was and all went together fine. Just some flash clean up to do but was expected. The tiles I expect to last through normal use, standard quality and very nice graphics.
If you aren't happy then don't know what makes you happy then. This is a good looking board game and going to look even better painted. Looking forward to building Mars station from worldworks to make new terrain.

Looking at the newer pics (thanks Dujek) the alarm bellsare ringing a little less loudly. Its definitely restic but lets be honest those miniatures are a step up from the majority of the boardgames figures out there.
They look like they will take paint nicely once cleaned up and that looks to be the time consuming point. I may look into some of those files mentioned if they are the way forward.
hopefully it will arrive today!! Anyone had time to play a game yet? Automatically Appended Next Post: Now that Sedition Wars boxes are appearing in the wild, team McVey has put together assembly guides for the figures. You'll only need to put them together once, but there are fiddly bits.
http://studiomcvey.blogspot.com
We'll be putting together a downloadable PDF of the assembly guide and if there's enough demand for it, include a hardcopy with the 2nd shipment due to you all.
A couple of tips:
Soak the plastic figs and bases in mild detergent to get rid of the release agents
Use super glue (cynao-acrylate) to put them together
You'll need a new craft blade and an emery board/file
Also, a few reminders - all the unlocked bonus characters, optional sculpts, DVD and terrain pack are coming in the 2nd wave. Some of the packing slips have terrain packs erroneously marked on them, don't worry we won't miss them next round.
Also, the alt resin Kara will have a hard copy card coming with the 2nd shipment. So don't waste time making a super nice high quality one, you won't need it.

These jeweler/clockmaker files really work. Back then I had problems filing the Alkemy minis and got the tip from a sculptor to try those files. Since then tehy have worked quite fine, for all kinds of board game plastics and Restik (Alkemy, Mantic, etc.)
I use "Grobet-Swiss Vallorbe Halfround #3008". One costs up to 20$ but since getting I can work way faster on projects (also works excelent on all kins of metals). Btw. the US-Army in the past used to use Grobet-files, so that´s probably also a way to nail them down.

Matthew shared this great thread on CoolMiniOrNot in the comments section, he's actually almost finished his assembly (the git).
http://www.coolminiornot.com/forums/showthread.php?52300
Here's one pic of the several he posted.
He's availing himself to questions on the forum and is an old CMON forum vet, so from the nice results he got I guess this qualifies him as our first assembly expert!
and from that topic, among others:
Warning - the Grendlrs do not fit well.
The plastic does hold lots of detail, but does not sand well.
Honestly guys? After having worked with plenty of mantic's restic and PP's plastic (basically the same stuff, more or less) I can say knives actually work *fine* as long as they're really sharp.
Lots of hobbyists, in my experience, use their (extremely cheap...) disposable knife blades for way too long before replacing them - with this stuff it's a bit more of an issue but try to teach yourself to replace that stuff regularly - it's dirt cheap (esp. when bought in bulk) and it'll save you no end of frustration
also files: well, don't use your GW/GF9/ AP/cheapohobbystore files - they can tear the material a bit, that's true (now I've never been a fan of files for anything but metal, so take this with a teensy grain of salt!) - those emery boards are said to do fine.
I wouldn't know; a knife is the only tool I need with this stuff and really, it's *different* to work with - not so much harder. Just takes a little getting used to! (and get used to it 'cause you're going to see plenty of this stuff in years to come - it's a great in-between material between hard plastic and more expensive stuff )
I can confirm the shiny look makes this material look bad and photograph bad - until you prime it - then it holds it's detail quite well. in my experience it can look a bit soft before priming - which actually makes that go away. Don't ask me how - just be happy
Personally I can't wait to get my box and if any disgruntled EU backer wants to get rid of theirs for cheap, feel free to PM I'm sufficiently confident to say that before having my own boxes in hand.

The quality isn't as good as a Trollcast/RBG fig or Alkemy figs. It's better than some forgeworld stuff (cadian accessories) and worse than others (enginseer). Better detail than GW plastic overall, but smaller figures and a lot less chunky too. I only have metal figs from Privateer Press but i'd compare these favorably to most of my IK minis in terms of detail. Looking really critically, some of the Sedition Wars figures could be accused of being a little soft on some details but i'm having trouble telling if it's the organic nature of the sculpts or if it's the restic. There's definitely no detail that is outright lost though and i really think you will need to be very careful base coating them. I had the same issue with the fine details on some Alkemy figures way back and with some Forgeworld stuff.
I'm going to mark the minis down as 'very good' as a final grade. I'm also tremendously excited to try playing it - i think most people here are going to be talking about the figures for some time, but the rules look they'll be a blast too.
