I like it alright enough, but I have to admit I like the commander figure from Warpath better as a large power suit among Vanguard. Not looking a gift horse in the mouth, though.

Small snippets of information in case anyone doesn't look at the Studio McVey forum

Angel Giraldez painted Gnosis Kara he is also painting Aphid Suit Barker.

"No (cover) Carapace for Kara I'm afraid, you'll just have to wait until we do general Gnosis troops..."

Ah well, I am sure I can rummage around in the bitz box for a decent looking helmet for her! Looking forward to seeing what Barker looks like, he is my favorite sculpt in the box so far imo.

It looks easy enough to cover the canopy with the THI suit bits and some green stuff.

It personally looks ok, doesn't seem to match the artwork wholly though. The art seemed more rounded if I recall.

Ah yes, that explains this:

The paint job is still exceptional. I don't think anyone is doubting that.

Jeez that is a good paintjob.. that Angel Giraldez is a spectacular artist.

I kind of like the mini actually (although I am looking forward to the standard, helmeted version), makes me think of the Starcraft grunts

Love the Gnosis Kara, in particular love the pose.

Went to go see the kickstarter comments for the first time since it closed almost a year ago. There are some VERY pissed people over there.

And yeah, it's about 50/50 but the ones who don't like something really hate it. Oh well, maybe more will show up cheap on ebay. I might need a few depending on the size

Seems really odd to get pissed over a model that's being given to you for free, but that's gamers for ya.

I doubt I would ever buy the model, especially for what it would cost, but as it's free, why not. It obviously never had a bearing on my pledge- by the time it came up in the Kickstarter, I was in the middle of my own wedding reception, lol.

It's not free - it and every other component are being sold to you as a package. You cannot single out any single part and say that it is the free model, so you can't complain if it's gak.

Actually, the Biohazard pledge was the basic purchase to obtain the extra figures, so technically you can compile a list of all the individual pledge goals, and then divide the amount the Biohazard Pledge is more than the retail game alone (about 20 bucks I think), and that would be your price-per-model. Which isn't very dang much, especially when factoring in the minis from the base game that we got doubles of.

Actually, looking back at the concept art for armoured Kara I have to say I liked it much more back then. The sword was much, much smaller and her head fit much better inside the suit. That being said, I hated the concept for Akosha and her sculpt turned out piles better!

I also checked out the KS comments, not a nice place to be in that's for sure.

Just to let folk know CMON have supplied replacements for my missing figures (3 glow in the dark strain),

so thanks to Ginger for getting that sorted out for me

(I didn't get any email / tracking telling me they'd been sent, so if you're waiting I'd imagine the stuff will just show up)

Actually,it was added (as a goal) on the last day, after around 80% of people had already backed it. Those were people who bought in before the model was released, so probably not a ton of them had their minds changed by the final additional model(s), so for them it was effectively free: everything from the day before would have cost them exactly the same amount as that, which was what they were buying (ahem, I mean, backing), then, the last day, what they were receiving for the same price included the Gnosis suit. That's about as free as you can get without not needing to purchase something in the first place.

There is also a difference between whether that was a bonus on the first day as a selling point for the whole campaign vs. getting released on the last day. In the former case, yes, it's more considered part of the package because more people would have it influence their purchasing choice, and they'd be implicitly marketing it as part of the core package.

Some complaints are rational and warranted. Others seems to exaggerate. Though I wonder where most of the complaints come from. Miniature games or Board gamers. Would make more sense coming from board gamers.

I personally wish Mike and CMON went for quality and new components over throwing a truck load of miniatures I'll never paint.

Do have to say, the complaints on delays are complete over reactions. Do delays suck? yeah, fact is, the overwhelming majority of KS are delayed, over 80 percent. There seems to be a need to have some sort of satisfaction and apology for the delays.

Mentioned it before, if Kingdom Death is delayed, and I think it will be, I feel sorry for Adam Poots if he has contributors with the same mentality.

I didn't get any bases, but I didn't ask for them (as I was just missing the figs & cards)

Edit; The KS comments section does seem to be full of the angry brigade now,

some have had real issues and you can understand their frustration,

but others seem to have decided the game is rubish without even giving it a try which seems crazy

Still haven't got around to checking mine, one of the two is still sealed. Been very busy so far this year mind and I'm kinda backed up on projects, so SW has slipped to the board games pile.

Not 100% what to do with it tbh. I got caught up with Kickstarter frenzy last year and now I have it, I'm not entirely convinced its going to see much use.

Going to read the rule book and see how it looks over the next few weeks.

The game's a bit rough still, but improving, and I like the core, and have had quite a lot of fun with it. I doubt a second copy will do much for you unless/until they release the rules for larger games. It feels a bit like a hybrid of Space Hulk and Malifaux- Space Hulk b/c relatively simple rules, overwatch and, of course, the forces; Malifaux because it's very objective focused, (mostly) small, and movement is both flexible and critical.

Honestly, a second copy won't do much for you as nice as it is.

Also I am not sure why everyone keeps complaining about CMON and replacements, Ginger typically gets back to you within a day.

I was unable to two of my tiles, emailed her and she replied the same day just recently. Before that I was missing biohazard bonus/lights out stuff.

Ginger got back to be moments after I contacted her.

She seems to be a one man rock band.

As I assumed months ago, CMON is understaffed. Not sure if they are cheap or can't afford to upgrade yet.

FYI, Today's Miniature Market Daily Deal is Sedition Wars for $50 if anyone is on the fence.

Also, Ginger is awesome. I had bad tiles and a malformed trooper and she was on top of it. Received replacements on Saturday and couldn't be happier.

Received my replacement items in a week. Guess there was a large influx of replacement part emails in previous weeks, thus delays.

I had one damaged board in my set (Corner was all smooshy). Ginger Sent an entire new map pack with counters! woot.

Also had couple of damaged cards, Ginger sent that as well with the respective miniatures for what ever reason.

Though, I forgot to check my light out miniatures and count them

now watch, there will be missing pieces.

Version 1.5 of the rules and cards are finished they are in final layout and will be available for download once done (no ETA on this yet). Rob has been ill hence the delay to date.

"we had just wrapped on a new version of the Sedition Wars rules. The pdf rules version we had been promising for so long?

Yeah, it's done.

Right now I'm reviewing the final in-layout draft before we get it ready for the second printing of Battle for Alabaster.

This is a version 1.5 of the rules that will be free on-line for all to read. This rules revision includes clarifications and enhancements to the rules to create a better play experience. We've added a glossary of game terms, and also a revision of all cards to add playability and differentiation, as well as address major balance issues.

Again, the cards and rules will be available on-line as a free download.

Rob."

From Mike today

"I'm exploring if we can make printed versions of the rules and cards available separately - that is certainly my preferred option, but ultimately it's not my decision.

I'll do all I can though - and keep you posted.

mike"

from that I'd read that it's up to CMoN as the publisher to decide what to do with the updated printed rules and I guess there will most likely be some sort of charge for it.
