hmm, niche product, but the price is quite reasonable.
That makes it $32 for US customers...several dollars cheaper than a GW Rhino or Chimera.
Very smart price point. Now I just need some money...

I recommend buying from Tomash and Bitspudlo, they do quality work and I've bought from them in the past but I'm sorry to say I won't be buying any of these APCs.
I have to disagree. Slightly cheaper than GW-RRP is the perfect sweet spot for something like this. It makes them both a cool alternative as well as a viable substitute. (different from "cheap")

I'm not trying to discourage anyone from buying the "Bison", I was just saying that it wasn't a good buy for me. I can buy a rhino, new on sprue from the warstore off of ebay (sans hatches but I have extras) for about $24 (usd) shipped. I know your folks in Australia have a different perspective though due to currency values and how GW hates you all for some reason.... Anyway, I'm off topic and will get out of the way.

You've completely messed up the quotes above. Not sure if it's a deliberate attempt to misrepresent what either Mad4Minis or I wrote or not, but it's a bloody mess and incorrect. I've never bought anything from the warstore, nor do I have a problem with the final price of this model.

Yeah, there's definitely some quote tag problems going on.
When I started 40k back in the late 1990s, the Canadian dollar was in the toilet. Rhinos were $35. Something that is cooler than than a rhino is now pretty much the same price as what I paid 15 years ago in 1997!
The best thing to happen to the wargames hobby is the proliferation of smaller manufacturers over the last half decade. I absolutely love them. And the best ones all seem to be based in Poland-- which is no surprise given the dedication and talent of the wargaming and model building hobbyists there.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better. |

@ Commander Cain: I'm not "complaining", not sure how you would think my saying it's not a great value to me but that I love the company and what they make and even give them my money for other things a "complaint" but to each his own...
@ scipio: Not sure how you would infer that I was intentionally misquoting you, it's obviously a system or human error issue; there would be nothing to gain from something like that. I just used quote in the system and that's what came out. *shrug* I've edited the post in question to remove any quotes at all. This new system that adds use icons to quotes is kind of a pain IMHO.
@frozenwastes: I couldn't agree more with your sentiment regarding smaller manufacturers. I've become a kickstarter addict lately supporting some great companies; to be honest I'm not sure what I'll do with all the models that will be pouring in soon. Maybe it'll all be some good practice and I'll finally improve my painting skills.

I eagerly await the first customer reviews of the Bison.
I don't really need any more Rhinos but if I did, I wouldn't have a problem getting these instead for about the same price.

I really want a Bison but as I have said, the wheels just kill it for me personally. But I have found a site that has a plethora of resin military wheels in 1/35 scale. I am thinking that depending on size, I could use some of these wheels on the Bison. However, this obviously increases the overall cost of the Bison by up to half. :(
Here is the Site: AirConnection
And the wheels I'm looking at here

I agree completely. Its awesome the amount of stuff coming out that allows a person to make an army truly unique to them. Especially true for those playing GW games. If only GW would learn to embrace this and not try to squash it. Many of these products require GW products as a base, so all it does is help their sales not hurt them.

The squashing approach only makes them more competition. For example, if a maker looks around and sees another maker get sued, they might realize they need their product line to stand alone so there's no doubt about trade marks and the like. So they might make a squad of infantry to go with a transport and suddenly you have a competing product line where you only had accessory parts before.
For example, if I ever wanted space orcs, I'd get complete ones from Kromlech rather than GW's plastics. I can't say for sure that any of the European based accessory sellers are worried about GW's legal bullying given how difficult frivolous lawsuits are there rather than in the US where they are easy. I'm just sort of noticing a trend that the accessory makers seem to be making enough arms and legs and torsos and armour plates and power packs and whatever that suddenly they have complete miniatures they can sell.
I'm far far more likely to add a Torqemada Launcher to a Bison than to go for a GW Whirlwind as it's cooler and costs 20% less than Canadian GW prices.

This intriguing picture was sent to Us by GENERAL_CHAOS (one of our supporters) - copying his description: "the girl was found on some abandoned Imperial Colony by Kroot Mercenaries and rise among them us a Kroot" - lot of inspiration from first "Alien versus Predator" - but isn't it awesome?

Even if I don't post that much in the BL thread, I can still read, thanks!
Still a letdown when a Kroot Girl conversion is announced by a conversion bits manufacturer in the headline, then some customer just glued a Kroot rifle to a human.
Imagine Bidspudlo announcing a female Guard conversion, then presenting a hen that lived among IG soldiers.
