Roughing in Ada
Here you can see Ada as a WIP, she looks a little thick but trust me, when she is made into a real world object she will appear trimmer. It’s just one of those things about the translation from CAD to a physical model, what looks right on the screen will look too thin when you have it in your hands.
I have tried not to make the model too effeminate, no chainmail bikinis here, these are soldiers! I tweaked the profile, the hips are wider, the feet are smaller the shoulders more narrow and she is slightly smaller overall when compared to the male stormtroopers.
I will post more later as she nears completion.

Heh, I was about to say that is one of the most amazingly faithful transitions I have ever seen!
The proportions look just amazing: subtle, but a definite feminine quality to the bodywork.
A question; have you tried a version without the integrated belt/suspenders element? It does give her a slight square-ness to the torso, I'm wondering what she would look like without the vertical elements.
To think, all it took for plastic, armored females was... a start-up company and the power of the internet.

I think it's a pretty brilliant start. I'd have to throw a box or two of the "Black Widows" onto my order when the pledge comes I think mixing them in with the normal troops will be awesome and make for a nice, diverse force.

This is a great post
And I highlighted the part I'm curious about, too. I think it is looking great! But if anything needs a bit of tweaking, it's the torso. From the waist down I think you've nailed it, and the rest is looking good.

The Iron Core game is still in it's infancy. There will be one developed and playtested, but it's only bare bones as of now.
Check out the Dream-Forge Games website for Faction information. The only real bad guys are the Shadokesh and the Dar-Hazier alien races. Everyone hates Shadokesh, and Dar-Hazier are opportunistic predators.

I think it looks great. I also think the belt+braces stop it from looking too sci-fi sleek - will there be belt pouches, etc for the figures?
As for the thickness, I think it looks good as is. She is wearing essentially full plate armour, after all.
For some reason these renders make me want to add both male and female troopers to my pledge...

You should be glad, MrMoustaffa, it'll give you time to add the stuff you wanted! :-) When you think about it, November is really just around the corner...
That's the thing. i thought I was safe from buying more. Now they tell me I may have another month to add on to the pledge? My wallet! It hurts! Also, those new renders are awesome Also, How varied will the poses on the black widows be? Will they be fairly monopose, or will they have a bit of variety and customization (like the regular stormtroopers.) Also, will you be trying to make them compatible with the extra bits pack? Reason why is I'm on the fence between ordering a couple more black widow squads, or just buying some more regular stormtroopers, and customization is what will be the "dealbreaker" for me. If I can make them nice and varied, awesome. If not, no biggie, but I'll probably only get one box. Speaking of which, it mentions on the kickstarter page that you only get 1 free upgrade pack after your first $39 worth of stormtroopers. However, on the calculator, it shows you getting one free pack for every 20 you buy (I.E. I got the hold the line deal, and it said I was due for 2 upgrade packs) Which of these is "correct"? I'm cool either way, but if I only get 1 no matter how many dudes I buy, I need to know so I can add another 20 bucks or so for the relevant upgrade packs. And finally, in that heavy valkir package (the one with the heavy weapons) you only get 1 of each weapon right? Not 5 of each? Which would mean they all have a different weapon right? AGH I want to buy so much why whywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhy

....So
Ada
....
Goddamnit Mark!
I suppose I need to add another squad of Black Widows to my pledge. 20 bad ass girls with Ada at the head of the platoon? Yes. Please. Dammnit.
At this point I'm just getting paranoid because I think Mark's been reading my Diary or has gotten ahold of some of my letters to Santa Claus, affordable titan scale models, female infantry that look great/effeminate without being oversexualized/bad ass? The only way I could be happier is if they get to me sooner then currently projected!

Wait, those giant robot things are the same size as a titan? I mean, I knew they were big, but I didn't know they were THAT big.
How big is a reaver titan then? 8" or so? I thought all the GW titans were a lot bigger than that.

The FW titan line starts with Warhounds at about 10" counting stacks as I recall, the Leviathan Crusader comes in at 8.5" so it's in a similar weight class to a warhound. I believe a lot of people (myself included) are purchasing 28mm Leviathans specifically as Warhound counts-as.

Mark must be the lost fifth chaos god. I mean if he can design realistic scifi female troops in near days to satisfy the desires of the gaming community, he must be omnipotent. GW after all has been working on the same thing for years with no success......unless they've been lying to us about new sisters of battle.

Love the Ada render, but without the lines the male figure has on his thigh armour, hers give the impression of thunder thighs, at least from that angle. The proportions seem right for armour, just it doesn't really seem like armour being that smooth maybe.
Must resist adding even more troops to my order.... I'm largely sorted for infantry (over 200) but is 3 APC's enough? Should I add some walkers? Curse these sweet models!

MrMoustaffa: You get an accessory pack for every 20-man troop you buy. I do not see why they wouldn't be compatible with the ladies, I think I read that you can equip the black widows with regular rifles, I would assume submachine guns as well, then.
T'was a good question about the poseability of the black widows. Again, since he made everything modular, I'm assuming they will be. Ada seems to be the only monopose fig.
Yonan: Mark explained that the renders look thicker, because the product always comes out thinner.
