Looking at the infantry sprue I noticed a few things.

1 back and backpack look to be two separate parts, which is nice, I was not sold 100% on that back pack.
2 I don't see any other weapons besides the main rifle, no rocket launchers, smgs or smgs with grenade launcher, not really happy about that as it makes the accessory sprue almost mandatory.

That is the ten man rifle squad, the 20 man Stormtroopers have another sprue for the other weapons and arms.... I would NEVER change somthing to remove items, but if there is space I may add items

Nice that the creator checks on here and posts to clarify stuff like this so quickly. Cheers, Mark

Aaaah...i wish i had enough cash this month to buy those right now...

Well gotta wait for next year...

Anyway congrats Mark, i was a fan of your Titans 10 year ago before the GW IP-Banhammer, missed the chance to have one, i will be so thrilled to see the whole range of your new models.

Also wanted to ask if you had an estimation as to when next year the mass production will gain enough speed for mass selling online, i definetly want to make an army out of it.

Ok great, I got the idea from your update that the 20 man boxes were just going to be two of the ten man sets for ease of production. I had no idea you were making a separate weapons sprue besides the already separate accessory kit. Nice.

Those are definitely WGF-style sprues. It really is a smart and excellent design.

I like how the Shadokesh has evolved from it's humble initial render. Not sure it's an army I'd acquire based on one unit, but it's awesome to see some really unique ideas for aliens in this space versus some of the more established motifs which are, shall we say, inspired by more traditional fantasy archetypes?

Awesome work Mark! December gets here way too slowly...

I'm from the future. The future of space

Can't wait for these to show up in my local store.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

Headclot, might be worth giving Mark an e-mail, but I wouldn't count on being able to get anything as the pledge manager closed on the 5th.

Very excited now! Shakodesh is looking great and I think that it will look even better in the flesh as those curves don't show that well in a 3d render.

The Shadowkesh is just marvelous... I was initially skeptical of the design, but it's really showing amazing ingenuity.

As an aside, that armored kilt (skirt?) looks quite good, and puts me of a mind that the excuse GW has given for not working on new Sisters of Battle is difficulty with fabrics. At this rate, Mark will have designed and produced entire ranges in the time it takes them to figure it out!

I just noticed something about that sprue, it's got round stacker things that don't exist on most plastic kits. Are you guys using the same plastic company that Wyrd Games uses?

I'm pretty sure they're using Ghost Studios - the same company that owns Wargames Factory.

I just realized, taking into consideration the remarkably good Dark Vengeance sculpts, that the "fabric is hard to sculpt/make into minis" line seems like total malarkey.

Yeah! All my shiny new Dark Angels have lots of fabrics to them! Albeit I kinda like my metal sisters, one of my IG falls off a table "Noooooooo!" one of my sisters falls off a table "Is the floor okay?"

While I'd like to see Iron-Core succeed on its own, it's not hard to see where some Black Widows and/or alternate parts for the Val'kir would address yet another gap in GW's model lines...

Just not sure it'd get enough to justify the cost for any new parts. Something else to watch for when the Black Widows get a general release I suppose; are they showing up as Sisters of Battle?

I don't want to play these as counts as anything, I want the iron core rules to kick GW in the rear and play it in tournaments. Shadokesh look awesome, but I want previews of all the factions with the next ks. Couldn't get myself to order blackwidows, as that was in phase 3. I need the quicker gratification.

I would love to see some tanks. Actual treaded tanks, done in the Dreamforge style. Im thinking Mark could draft up a pretty mean MBT if he was so inclined...

If there is another KS, I think fleshing out one or two unit(s) per faction would breathe life into this new universe much better than having a whole kickstarter hoopla for each faction.

I am assuming this KS will end up being successful enough to give Mark a good standing with Wargames, and they will be willing to support the line little by little. Call my a dreamer. We just can't expect a "codexful" of units every time, in such a short time span, from a one man show.

Even more than the KS will be if the leviathans & troopers sell when they hit general retail

They should do well, but the question will be how well once they hit the stores

On the other hand, this game will not take off, however good the rules might be, until he gets a distinctly different faction like the Shadokesh in production. the heavy troopers aren't so radically different from the marines as to make for good-looking opponents for each other.
Now of course they'll sell plenty for counts-as use but I don't think Mark wants to stay in that market segment any longer than he has to

Update #74 · Nov. 14, 2012 · 5 comments

Here is a look at some of the sprues and an assembled trooper. It’s a bit dark out so I needed to use my desk magnifier lamp to get some shots. I will try to get some larger clearer images when I can get some decent lighting.

I am quite frankly amazed at the level of crisp detail they were able to reproduce while dealing with the direction of pull from the mold halves. WGF did an amazing job…. My hat is off to them.

Wow, those are nice!
Too bad I already had a bunch of Kriegsmarine models in metal.
I ended up with a couple Leviathans, extra arms, and exclusives.

I would have been all over those if Eisenkern were to be my main faction for Iron Core.
