I simply meant for a lack of time, not because of stuff to be done in front of it, but if I wanted to clear out my current backlog it would be a very long time.
Off the top of my head:
1/2500 Enterprise C (needs paint)
5 15mm T-34 tanks (need paint)
5 15mm M4 Sherman tanks (need paint)
12 Warriors of Chaos, new plastic style (some need paint, some still unassembled)
10+ WoC, old plastic style (same as above)
8+ Metal OOP WoC (need paint)
10 Anvil Industries Steam Knights (unassembled)
Hordes Trollblood starter (needs paint)
3 Hordes Legion beasts (need paint, 1 unassembled)
2 Hordes Warpwolves (1 needs paint, 1 unassembled)
Several fantasy figures in various stages from unassembled to needing paint.
As you can tell, I have a bad case of ADD. I buy stuff, build some of it, paint even less of it, get another cool idea and move on.
However, the Leviathan Crusader will get moved ahead of a lot of that. Im far better about finishing a single model than I am about groups similar ones.

That's it? Lightweight.
I'm glad for the delay for the same reason myself. I'm planning on using my Dreadball stuff to learn to airbrush. It's the only way the huge mountain of plastic I ordered isn't going to overwhelm me.

Figure this ought to get put up;
A small update with some scale comparisons.
Update #76 · Nov. 27, 2012 · 5 comments
I apologize for the quality of the lighting and the fish eye nature of the shots but it should give you a fairly good idea.
Disclaimer: The miniatures from the other manufacturers are shown for scale comparison purposes only, all rights reserved by their owners.
First up, we have a SM and a DFG Stormtrooper, you can see with the added mass difference from the original metal miniatures, the plastic models hold up well in a scale comparison. The SM is 36mm tall from the bottom of the base to the top of the head. The Stormtrooper is 35mm tall from the bottom of the base to the top of the head.
Next is a Guard and a DFG Stormtrooper. The Stormtrooper is just a little taller but the mass of the model looks good. I used a leg set and weapons pose that closely matches the Guard so you can compare apples to apples. The Guard is 33.9mm tall from the bottom of the base to the top of the head. The Stormtrooper is 34.9mm tall from the bottom of the base to the top of the head.
Next is a Dust mini. The Stormtroopers have slightly more mass but are very close in height. The additional mass does not look out of place due to the armor difference in the miniatures, as the Stormtroopers are wearing full carapace armor. The Dust fig is 34.89mm tall from the bottom of the base to the top of the head. The Stormtroopers are 33.9mm and 35mm tall from the bottom of the base to the top of the head.
Last we have a couple of larger shots of the Stormtroopers.
To wrap things up I have a couple of images sent to me from the folks that are making this happen.
In the center, is Wai Kee, to his left, Daisy and Paul. The other people in the shot are the engineering team for WGF.
You can see some larger formats of these images here.

The stormtroopers turned out absolutely beautifully. The detail is crisp, intricate and well defined. The Space Marine looks like Mr. Blobby by comparison.

I had assumed those boxes of stormtroopers would be the same size as the Great Coats one. Which were nigh 4 inches tall, but these seem more like the regular fare from GW, so yeah, much bigger than I thought.
Well, only one more month (more or less) until January comes around and then maybe DFG can make me forget all the new Dark Angels shinies. These guys are gonna make some bitchin Sisters of battle.
All I gotta do is greenstuff a cloak/cape here, some more gothic looking backpacks, and some female heads, and I'm golden.
And sadly, they'll still be cheaper than if I bought metal sisters from GW

You probably won't even need to do that, remember that the female Storm Troopers will have a full range of interchangeable weapons, you will almost certainly be able to make whatever load-out you are looking for.

In fairness, that one is comparing a sprue not more than a few months old to one that dates back to what, the late 90s? I would use the IG one as its a much more recent kit and the contrast is just as stark (and again, I love the Cadian models). The DFG model looks categorically better than any shown or that I've seen in this genre, and as a hard plastic will be much more scalable than companies who produce fantastic models but never enough to offer them reliably at reasonable prices..
Where GW has prevailed is above average models at a massive production scale. Companies that compete on quality tend to fail on scale, and those with competitive scaling tend to have poorer quality sculpts overall. This is the first real combination that I feel throws down the gauntlet in the market. Assuming their prices are roughly equal, this will hopefully lead to more DFG products and move them up with the big boys in the market.

Also, please don't mistake my "these will make awesome sisters" for not thinking the figures have promise for a game genre of their own. Far from it. I just know that it will be a long time until the game picks up steam in my area. Once it does though, I'll have an awesome (hopefully) converted army to give it a try!
In the meantime, I'll support this company however I can, while playing an army that hasn't been supported in ages Just because the game isn't getting started in my area yet doesnt mean I cant buy awesome minis!
I feel like there's a message in there or something.

Words cannot describe how jealous I am. MULTIPLE super heavies! I mean I technically have two titans now, but I still covet a baneblade for my guard, and I want to do a baneblade conversion for my Sisters. Plus a couple more generic IG vehicles to round out my lists. A Vanquisher LRBT, a Manticore, another Basilisk, a Hellhound or two...
That's the best part about being a Guard player in my humble opinion, an unending tide of armor rolling forward to glorious victory!
@Moustaffa, I don't think any one in here doubts the viability of the coming Iron Core system. I know I personally look forward to playing Iron Core and am very pleased that my Leviathans can serve double duty for two games not just one. I think your counts as Sisters of Battle will make a sick army for Eisenkern as well. Which may make it even better, an entire army that can pull double duty? That's an epic win there. What female heads are you using for your conversions on the Storm troopers? I might take a leaf out of your book when I pick some troopers up after they hit retail.

That's not all of 'em either. My complete Super-Heavy Company is:
Hellhammer x1
Stormblade x1
Baneblade x3
Shadowsword x2
Macharius x3 (1 Regular, 1 Vanquisher, 1 Vulcan Mega-Bolter)
Those pictures omit my other Russ Company (Annihilator, 3 Exterminators, 6 Demolishers). And my 12 Chimeras. And the 20 Sentinels. And the 400-ish infantry. I have a very large Guard army... I'm a bit crazy.
I like tanks, and you're right, that is the best part about the Guard, and one of the many reasons I wrote the vehicle rules for this game. (/shameless plug)

Oh there's no doubt that the Space Marine is probably THE iconic GW sculpt and the natural comparison. I'm just pointing out the very credible defense that GW produced that sculpt around 15 years ago and technology has advanced just a smidge since then. Then they could switch to saying that the marine is even in the same conversation as a hot-off-the-press sprue shows how good GW has been for a long time. GW haters aside, those things are actually true. However, they gloss over that GW designs haven't dramatically improved since then, as the Cadian pic (which isn't a spring chicken either) illustrates. They're better now, sure, but no where near what Mark is bringing to the table in plastic. It'd be more interesting and fair to compare the new raptors or dark vengeance marines; the Chosen probably compete on details, but fall flat on versatility.
Thanks HBMC for making me feel better about my pile. I only have five super-heavies, so clearly I'm not the craziest for IG at least. I probably win on number of armies though...

Not actually used them yet, but certainly not a flat bottom surface, and they say they can stand on most surfaces.

I would be totally turned off by the idea of having so much gray plastic left in my army. I saw some eldar in there as well? It's a good thing airbrushes exist.
I was thinking about using them as SoB as well, but the lack of female heads on the market has me a bit turned off. I can't wait to try these out in a proper Iron Core game.
