No hair splitting please. Define "end of September". If it's all the way at the end it's a really an October release isn't it?

The new White Dwarf has no previews of a major Chaos Marine release, just Dark Vengeance. And GW does not in their recent history do two major releases too close together. Keep dreaming. Reality will intervene though.

Faeit has actually addressed both these points. First the Chaos WD is going to be October. The list ends September 15th. There are still releases post September 15th but GW is being SUPER strict on information at the moment. I thought the rumor was the preorder for Chaos would go up the 15th, a week before launch.
I always hold the possibility of an October launch. But if GW wants to get people to play 40k with the starter, which is the point of the starter, then not having a codex with the models you're using is going to ruin that idea.

So a box of 5 plastic Wraithguard for $59 (USD)...thats about $47.xx after the typical 20% internet retailer discount...Im in. Ive aways loved Wraithguard, but the prices of the metal kept me from buying them, since I dont play Eldar and these would likely be a "just to have" purchase. If I can pick up 5 of them for $50 or less shipped, Im in for at least 1 box, maybe 2 over time.

This^^^ I was gonna be all stoked, but then I thought......

On other fronts I don't see why this would delay a September Chaos release, it's just a bunch of recasts. Maybe I'll pick up a Yriel.

I was stoked to see the new Chaos stuff released this month but I guess my emotions got in the way of logic, GW has never done 2 major releases in one month and this list goes to show that there are NO new Chaos releases coming. Guess I will have to see what October brings.

Indeed, I heard plastic WG is up right after plasic sisters of battle, and those are apparently just around the corner!

Disclaimer: no, Im not trying to spread rumours about SoB, just pointing out we cant be to sure about those plastic Wraiths anytime soon.
Anyway, I got 7 WG as it is, Id like to have a full squad that look all the same, and I would like them soon/now, my Eldar are on a vinning streak!

Yeah but waiting the the plastics will mean you'll have cool new wraithguards. If you're going to go for the older moulds pick them up second hand or ebay for cheap. And IMO with only a 12" range, they're kinda gimped now. Kinda cool, but kinda gimped.

Their weapons work great with the new rules, imo. 2+ wound with ap 2 plus 3-4 glance 5-6 pen. Geez man. I seriously expect them to be super bad when they "fix" them. Either changing the rules of the Wraithcannon or Wraithsight, or just adding something new. Because I don't know anything with an ap 2 and 2+ wound. Put a Warlock in there with Conceal and you're gold.

Seeing as the rumor is Eldar release is after Sisters it would make sense that plastic Wraithguard are coming then.

Edit: just saw a list posted today of codex releases and Eldar are most likely before Sisters. GW really doesn't care about Sisters at all.

I'm still looking forward to when GW stops dragging it's feet and releases a Chaos Codex that is watered-down, "renegades" and more focused on what chaos does best...chaotic ruinous powers and all!

Finecost!!!! *Throws up in own mouth*... sorry... I thought you said finecost...
No, definitely only in plastic or GOOD resin.

Must have misread the "comes in groups of 5" then,

Haha, finally, some BA shoulder pads, want all my marines to have the same shoulder pads, but with the DC set it was ridiculously expensive if I wanted to do that.

Also the finecast BA models sound nice (as long as they are well made), never forgiven GW for selling me a dodgy metal Corbulo with a dodgy chainsword, which I ended up breaking >.<

Resin Ragnar shoulderpads for $10? Man, why couldn't those have come out before I built my wolves? Never liked metal shoulders on plastic models, but resin on plastic is just dandy! And they're cheaper than the metal pads used to be as well. Until they released 10 in a blister they were $1.25 each. Resin meltas and plasmas make me happy for the same reason.

Mostly out of 40k, but it's good to know the models are gonna be the way I like em if the game ever sucks me back in. 40k is like cancer, you're never actually free of it, it's just gone into remission.

I think it's the method of production that Battlefoam have copyrighted, other companies like KR and Sabol do it but obviously using other methods I guess...

They most likely use similar methods for cutting the foam but call it a proprietary technique and hide it from each other so nobody can sue. lol, who knows.

Damn! I'm almost excited for those resin bits for Sternguard! But then I remember what it's made of... And also how many I'd need to buy to get enough combi-melta's.

I like that they are the side-by-side combi weapons though.

I like the sternguard pack. Although people who follow the combis for everyone school of thought would need to buy a lot of them. I was just contemplating cutting up a old metal terminator HF arm...

Not sure what the HB is doing in there though, Does anyone field them in sternguard? Wonder if there are going to be new rules in the DA book. At the very least, I could see sternguard getting to use the same ammo the scouts get in their HBs.

Nice set, altough why is there a heavy bolter? The only tripod version was scouts...
Still worth it, for the LC and heavy flamer.

The heavy bolter on tripod concept for marines comes from the deathwatch. Since the team was always on the move, it was important to keep it braced easily. I used to run my sternguards with 2 heavy bolters, and the hail of fire was withering hordes quite nicely. Especially with the 30 inches ammo, it was essentially an extra turn of shooting, for very few points extra.
