They could always do like they did with the Wolf Guard Terminators.
5x Terminators with 2 Special Weapons [Heavy and Plasma Cannon] and buckets of Upgrade Bits including a Power Maul.
This way if you wanted Assualt Cannon or Cyclone Terminators, you would have to also pick up a Standard Terminator Boxed kit.

What I am hoping for with the DW kit is a Combi-Plasma and Power Lance/Spear.

I agree. A cross between the Wolf Guard and GK Terminator boxes- parts for 5 terminators, head options for say 5 normal, 5 elite, and maybe 3-4 bare/robed heads and an apothecary head. Like the Space Wolves have the pelt they can put on, I'd expect a torso plate and some robe bits that could be added to make a sergeant. I'd also expect a narthecum arm, and an arm with at least one banner. Also like the Space wolves, a sergeant arm with various CCW options- sword, maul, axe, relic blade.
Heavy Weapons, I agree- likely a plasma cannon and potentially one more. I would not expect an Assault cannon in the box, as it is in the DA upgrade kit currently available, and I would not expect a cyclone launcher, as that is a major selling point for generic Tac terminators.
I also expect a set of thunder hammers and storm shields, but only say 3-4 of each.
If the rumors of special bolters are true, I expect options for those as well as normal storm bolters. Maybe a plasma blaster part as well for a sergeant.
Then the usual mix of icons, purity seals, and for the Deathwing, feathers.

The Ravenwing box-set already has an "up-grade-pack" for DW termies... I don't hold out much hope for new termie boxes for DA...

Actually, I think it's pretty solid odds we will get a new Deathwing box.

When the current codex dropped and people saw they could take things like a Terminator Apothecary & DW Standard Bearer, the delight soon turned to rage because there were no actual bitz to build those options!!!
Most people don't want to be forced to go scrounging through their own (sometimes very limited) bitz boxes/e-bay/bitz stores just to find basic squad options. And almost no one will want to shell-out major bucks for additional kits to get the same thing! (ie: who wants to buy a GK Termie box just for the Apothecary bitz?!!)

If Deathwing get options like full command options, plasma cannons, other new/old returning weapon options, you can bet your @$$ GW will release a DW specific box with all those new options so they can cash in on everyone updating their existing collection, alongside the new rush of bandwagoners who have to get the latest & greatest toys.

Well, the 2 planes I saw were:
Chin mounted gatling cannon (something like an Avenger cannon), with wing mounted missiles (pod mounted, in the same style as the Storm Raven).
Chin mounted wide-bore cannon the types of which I haven't seen before (but which looks like it'll be firing a high energy discharge), with wing mounted loads'o'bolters (hurricane bolter basically).

So it is December, anyone have the issue of White Dwarf Yet? And if so, any DA mention?

I'm feeling very skeptical about this December DA thing. I guess we'll see pretty soon.

Except, and hold on because this is good, we are in the News and Rumors forum. So the original question was whether someone had the WD, that is not yet out, so we could get some leaked information. It is a bit early, but certainly not impossible for someone to have it already.


To answer your question... No, I do not think it it too early to be talking about an upcoming release in the News and Rumors forum.

So if we could spot a few hints in a novel, would "black knights" as RW get a counter of "white knights" in form of the DW? Flyers or skimmers i'd need to see first, GW hasn't had a good design with those SM-kits lately.

Pretty sure you are mixing Ward up with Kelly, since he started that trend with SW.

yup, 3rd ed SW 'dex was just as 'bad' in that regard but really, it fits the puppies alright. They always were a bit of a one-dimensional thing like that - and they pulled it off well. GK are just painful every time you have to write out an army list.

Looking forward to this if it's Ward. The DarkRavenLions, an elite branch of the Ravenwing who ride cyber-lions... that also have wheels! All the advantages of both Cavalry and Bikes combined.

The DarkLionWing, an even more elite branch of the DarkRavenLions, whose cyber-lion-bikes are cyber-lion-jetbikes! Because the only thing cooler than a Space Marine on a lion-crossed-with-a-motorbike, is a Space Marine on a lion-crossed-with-a-motorbike THAT FLIES.

The Grey Knights got a Dreadknight, which is a bit like a Terminator riding a giant Terminator. I WANT TO GO ONE BETTER. Give the Dark Angels a DarkKnight, which is like a Dreadknight but for us, but also give us an DarkKnightKnight, which is a Terminator riding a giant Terminator riding an EVEN MORE giant Terminator.

Our last edition allowed a Company Master to carry a vast quantity of wargear -- for example, you could give him a pair of Lightning Claws AND a combi-melta AND a plasma pistol. If a mere Company Master can have all that, give Belial and Sammael MORE STILL! Belial: twin Thunder Hammers, a Multi-Melta built into his left eye, at least five kinds of grenade. And a jetpack. Sammael gets his Land Speeder, but a bit beefed up (14/14/12, maybe), and if the enemy destroys his Land Speeder, he RIDES OUT from the flaming wreckage, on his jetbike. Which by this point is also a lion. On fire.
