Dozer the Terraton MVP will be a purchasable extra comparable to Buzzcut at $10 - he will not be free with Striker nor will the Season 3 Prones you will have to buy a set of 4 for $8 or the Season 3 upgrade if you want them.

Have to say I don't like the way the fluff gets rewritten on the whims of the most vocal posters - the chimp/unchimping of the Zees, John Doe's background of mystery and uniqueness lasting all of four weeks! before oh look! there's actually a team!

Wish Mantic would actually have enough cojones to say this is OUR game and our universe, even if it cost them a few shekels on this kickstarter.

Wait? What?

What about the gigabytes of text spilled on this forum and all others arguing that companies making games should, once in a while, try to listen to their fans?

I dont think I was alone in guessing that John Doe's race were going to become a team from the get go.

I also prefer the Zees being their own race. It means they can be an independent faction in warparth

Stupid Mantic Open Day yesterday, if I hadn't played the game I'd be showing more restraint......

Out of interest how does the game play?

Do they have enough substance to be a faction of their own in warpath?

I probably would've preferred them as a unit-selection for corporation. As independent faction, they'll just have to stretch the idea to the breaking point to get all the "necessary" things you need for a whole army (i.e. heavy weapons, assault, command types, vehicles, etc., etc.9.

Sure, but I think there's a balance - give the fanboys too much of what they think they want and you end up with episodes I-III *shudders*

Which Star Wars fan asked for Jar-jar Binks?

He'd better hope the others never find his hiding place.

Very quick and the scope of things to change seems quite broad. We played 6 turns in which time I managed to score 2 2-point strikes and my opponent scored a 4-point strike and a 1-point strike (dammit!). With no resets after a score you need to use a lot of thought for who you commit forwards, and hexes make it harder to protect players than forming a line or a cage in BB.

I quite like the +/- dice system (which I was used to from DKH and Pandora anyway) and there's doubling and bonus re-rolls for rolling 6s as part of a stat test which makes things tense.

Mantic intend the Rebs to contain a wide mixture of alien concepts rather than just be a.n.other human faction, so it's possible they'll end up in there.

Ex-Mantic Rules Committees: Kings of War, Warpath
"The Emperor is obviously not a dictator, he's a couch."
Starbuck: "Why can't we use the starboard launch bays?"
Engineer: "Because it's a gift shop!"

Isn't it a bit late?

Anyway, Mantic is getting slow about updating. I also notice that people are dropping Dec strikers and jacks.

Yeah a bit late for them to advertise now, should have been done days ago not with a couple of hours left in the Kickstarter.

Alt poses for all the season 2 teams sounds good. The more variety the better.

^ Welcome aboard! Good plan on piggybacking, that way you get to get your full 16-figure team for $25.

And yes, it is a bit late for a PA post, nobody bothers to read PA on a Sunday (it updates Mon, Weds, Fri), the blog post has already been buried by two other newer (and much larger) posts, and they only bothered to write a single kinda half-assed paragraph about it.

PA support for Relic Knights had a huge impact and resulted in $225k pledged on the final day... not so much with this one, there haven't been many new backers, most of the money is coming from existing backers increasing their pledge.

From what people are saying on the KS, it sounds like Mantic paid PA for the licensing.

yes the PA post was a bit.... weak

like there's dreadball, and I should have posted this earlier (proabably on the 28 when it's dated), but I was kind of busy, and the passed the goal, so I gave up

then I remembered they'd paid for this so I shoved it up to fullfill the terms of our contract

lame

That's kind of lame on Penny Arcade... not necessarily Mantic, right?

I.e. PA sold out a bit?

Either way, maybe it will grease the wheels to 700k

There wasn't even a stretch goal for the Gabe model, it was just added as an extra, so the "stretch goal got passed too quick" reason doesn't even make any sense!

Oh well, this thing is going at breakneck speed even without the boost.

Yup Mantic got a licence (probably paid for)

PA dropped the ball (hope they refund or plug the heck out of dreadball for PAX 2013)

Bleh, new magic number is like 465$...

I kinda hope they stop making stuff and add alternate poses for season 2 and 3. Alternate poses should have been a given way long ago.

Wahey - we’re really flying!

Season 2 has now been locked out with great alternatively posed miniatures, expanding the choice and variety in your teams!

With two hours left – let’s see what’s next!

$700,000 Complete Season 3

If we hit this goal we’ll increase the number of sculpts in EVERY Season 3 team, boosting the number of poses you’ll get in your team and improving the range even further.

We'll be able to do all of the variant parts if we hit this goal!

We will upgrade the Season 3 Figures already in Striker! to these new alternatively posed figures and we’ll upgrade the 6 “booster” models in the Season 3 Completist package as well!

Don't worry about the gentleman in the silhouette - he'll be with you soon as well!

We've nearly reached double the value of the Kings of War Kickstarter campaign - that's got to be worth celebrating right?

Squig- Awesome sauce

nkelsch- I don't see any Season 3 Keepers- am I missing something?

Also, if Season 3 Keepers get added, is it possible to just buy a single keeper? I only see the bundles for the earlier ones.

Hmmm...not helped by people dropping their Striker! pledges.

I'm not impressed by Penny Arcade over this, either. I assumed they were making a big thing of DB.
