I will be getting the starter kit (the Dark Angels will likely be converted to Chaos), may well buy a Battleforce too, and will definately be buying a Defiler (to convert into Knight Class Defiler) and that'll be a pretty sound force to go with the 300-500ptsish of Chaos I already have. (Fabulous Fabius and his merry men).

Primarily as an addition to my Dark Eldar, then later their own force.

I already have 2500 points of EC so I don't expect to be starting another army.

However, if the new rumored daemon engines get models, and if they look cool, and if they don't suck stat/point wise, I can see picking up a couple to keep my defiler company.

I have really mixed feeling about the dragon flyer. It has to look cool, otherwise I just don't see myself using it.

I'm gonna get some Night Lord allies for my Orks.

I just wanna recreate the characters from the Soul Hunter books.

I dunno, if they are indeed redoing the Noise Marine box, I might be tempted to update my Noise Marines if they are impressive enough. Otherwise I am in the same boat of not really needing a whole lot beyond the Cultists in the starter and the flyer if it is impressive enough.

So some "counts as" noise marines for the sonic/siesmic weaponry, a couple of the new dreads & whatever new daemon engines, a warpsmith, sorcerer, havocs and such... Maybe even some the new oblits!

I am in the process of doing a traitor warband melding IronHand and Word Bearer themes. Basically Marines who preach the need to worship the machine god and that that machine god is separate from the emperor.

Mephiston? Interesting. I was thinking about just using a plastic Daemon Prince for the Exhalted. I also have a plan for the wings on the helmets (less goofy looking).

I also might not paint the lightning on the armour. I don't think I could do it justice. But now that I can take Cultist I could also feild a Septimus and Octavia unit.

I'm going to get the codex, read through it.

Read it again.

Make a few lists up to 2500.

Read the codex again.

Then buy my stuff! I'm leaning towards a Slaanesh army, but I want to see what changes they make to everything before I commit to buying anything.

I am considering an Iron Warriors Warband, or a Night Lords Warband.

Actually now that I think about it, my Blood Angels, Eldar and Orks are crying to be finished...

I want a Predator with a Blastmaster equivalent Turret with sonic blaster sponsons.

Death guard led by Typhus with allied nurgle daemons.
Planning on getting 50 or so mantic zombies, and I've already ordered 10 maxmini zombie heads. Intend to use a bunch of IG blokes, and fantasy empire blokes to spice it up to 60ish zombies.
Alot depends on if the cultists loose their shooting when you zombify 'em. And if you can take more than one zombie unit...
Basicly, lots of zombies, the tallyman(ally), a plaguebearer unit(ally), Nurglings(ally), Beasts of nurgle(ally), Nurgle daemon prince(ally), blight drone(ally), a large terminator group with typhus, and finally as many plaguemarines and blightdrones as I can fit.. I love the old horrorflick bit of typhus showing up, with a smallish entourage of powerfull marines, and it all goes dawn of the dead/28 later/silent hill/resident evil/shawn of the dead

Dunno why, but the nurgle daemonpronce reminds me of conehead for some odd reason...

Still undecided on what to do with the starter box I ordered. It's down to IW(with guard allies) or Word Bearers (with Daemon allies)... That limited ed chaplain looks like it'll be a good base for a Dark apostle or Techmarine...

I'm crazy enugh for 2 chaos armies... Maybe with some world eater berserker friends tagging along, but I think three would be too much...

If I had the scratch to spare, I might make a Night Lords army. The devil made me do it. I mean, Aaron Dembski-Bowden made me do it. But other than that I would prolly avoid Chaos.

I have had chaos forces since rogue trader, so don't *need* to get anything...of course that hasn't stopped me from preordering that damn new 6th edition started box. I have absolutely zero need for the minis, but they are so cool I just had to have some. I guess I'll even paint up the Dark Angels too. I've never done a dark angels force before in 40k.

Hoping any new minis they release are not so cool that I find myself buying them anyway, even though I don't need them. If they add new units I'll definitely look at those, but I've got so many points of chaos now it isn't funny.

I am really liking the plastic cultists in the starter box, though my chaos renegades army is already made up of cadians converted with forge world parts for the main "horde" portion and then that is supported with 4 units of "Veterans" and the company command squad made up of converted necromunda redemptionist figures and mordheim cult of the possessed figures. So don't really need the cultists.

Well, I don't know what model I'd use for him; probably a lot of Possessed parts mixed with some Terminator bits to make him bigger. He's not quite a Daemon Prince but not quite a Marine either, so Mephiston's rules make sense for him in-game. I am interested in your plan for the wings on helmets though, since the metal ones look goofy as all get out.

1ksons and autogun cultists as spireguard. Probably gonna be a lot of vehicles.

I'm going with a Tzeentchy focused warband, with elements of other Gods

Probably World Eaters because they are so different from my Eldar armies. But I'm nervous about assault armies in 6th... especially since you can no longer assault out of rhinos.

If the cultist meatshield strategy works, then I'll prob still do World Eaters.

If not, then Night Lords because they probably have my favorite primarch and I could justify them as allies with my Dark Eldar.
