Looks like a very well done box set. The only problem I have, is Maelstrom haven't sent mine out :/ I wasn't even going to order from them, but the place I was going to had run out. But checking my orders, it's still saying 'packing' which it said on Saturday,, possibly even Friday. Anyone else had theirs sent from maelstrom yet?

I just hope they forgot to change it or something and I hope I hear the postman knocking today. If not I need to ask why they have not even packed my order yet. :(

edit: giftsforgeeks btw, anyone ordered from these guys, the starter set I mean, they are a trusted company and I have ordered from them no problem in the past.

My box was packed correctly model wise, but my mini rulebook was packed with the first several pages folded over. The guy at the store I was at did right and promptly opened up another box and swapped out the packet containing the manual on the spot.

You only appear to have missed most of the discussion in this and the previous thread if you missed that.

No point in DV. It's a self contained starter so not much need.

Most likely all of the units will be in the forthcoming DA and Chaos Codeci. I don see any benefit from GW it putting them in the respective codex. The cultist would be my biggest suspicion of that not being thecase as they could be used as IG allies but their slightly different stat line should mean they get their own entry in C:Chaos.

I bought it in store last week, but that's blown.
I'll have to call to get this fixed now :(

Probably shouldn't be using my first post for blatant self-promotion, but hey..

Summary:

The Good:
- Sculpt quality is generally on a par with or better than most of GW's plastics.
- 99% push fit.
- Solo scenarios included for the absolute beginner.
- Compact rulebook and quick play sheets are a godsend for veterans.

The Bad:
- NO TERRAIN.
- Helbrute base isn't pre-holed. Everything else is, why not that one piece?
- Chaplain requires glue.

The Ugly:
- Some models seem to lost out in the mould making process, notably 'Chippy' the cultist and the Ravenwing plasma gunner.

Overall: Solid buy recommendation, even if you've no interest in the miniatures (there's always EBay, after all).

Woohoo finaly dispatched so should get it tomorrow, must have been because my bank denied the first payment so caused delays. Expected to feel angry but seeing that dispatched notice, gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

Today the postman came to my door with the boxset, looked at me sitting through the window eating breakfast... then put a "sorry, you weren't in" letter through the mail box. ...I was sitting there dumbfounded until he started walking back to his van. Pity though, he ignored me as he drove down the street. (Now I have to wait till Thursday on account of not being in during delivery hours).

Did he even knock? Lol what the hell. I have to have no sound from anything when I am waiting for the postman. I understand they have limited time to do their routes but literally when you hear the knock, you have about 10 seconds to dash downstairs, crucial timing.

I wouldn't recommend this. It's much easier to just open up the pre-cut holes and peg him in.

As far as the size of the helbrute goes, I'm not really sure what to say...by all rights it looks like a mutated dread, so that's about what I was expecting, personally. If anything it's actually a little taller than a standard dread because it has its arm raised and a foot propped up on a slab of concrete. It's every bit as chunky as I expected.

How big should it have been?

Actually he left another package in our recycling bin. I only noticed this when I leafed through the letters to find a hastily written note "its in the bottle bin". This got my hopes up, but it was only a tshirt. ...Why he didn't put the box in with it I have no idea.

I have had issue with my set. Opened it up this morning, only to discover that both of the tac/cultist sprues look like they were rubbed against a cement wall for a bit before being put into the box. Most of the details on the front of the marines are scraped off, and slightly smushed.

XD still a tenner more than I paid for the limited edition :p I wonder who'd buy at that price without shopping around online for five minutes and saving themselves a bit of cash?
