i have been told and am led to belive the starter box will cost £70

its a shame really guess im just gonna have to wait till eldar get done as im not buying this dinobot stuff maybe a few figures to paint, and £30 for the codex not a chance looks like i will be starting my menoth list or fw horus heresy

i really wanted to see new units to replace the old ones( thousand sons, beserkers, death guard and noise marines)

i understand every one has there own veiws and no one person is right (maybe the emperor)
but if you want to do a non chaos god list like a fluff based night lords your screwed everything looks like deamons

Well, the best I can see is 29, not 39, so we'll just have to wait.

But if the codex is thirty pounds, I'm puttin' on mah Pirate hat.

The new codex's price will be 39 Euros:

So with thesenew rules, I see no way of making a sweet Nigh Lords army that follows the back ground we have on them. I dont have the dex in my hands, but if someone out there can point out some really sicky nar set ups that would works and be considered Night Lords esck. I would really appreciate it. Cause I really just dont see it.

After looking over the rules posted, I have to say that I'm pretty impressed thus far. However I'm curious as to what the Berserker special rule from the Mark of Khorne means. They get Counter-attack too, so it my time spent playing the Spacewolves for my counts-as World Eaters force wasn't time ill-spent at any rate!

Without knowing any points costs and how the codex works, I would definitely be taking a Chaos Lord of Khorne on a Juggernaut with the Gift of Mutation and Fleshmetal. Dat dere T5 W4 with a 2+ save plus an Eye of the gods roll! hnnngggg

Also the Daemon Prince of Tzeentch upgrade is mental, rerolling saves of 1! If they can get a 2+ save then that will be awesome.

The Obliterator rules are interesting. So they lose the plasma cannon but gain access to an assault cannon, and they can't choose the same weapon twice. Intredasting...

The psychic powers are fairly underwhelming, not gonna lie. Glad I play Khorne.

Wait, that can't be right. Oblits, in the current fluff at least, can not spawn projectile weapons. Assault cannons are projectile weapons.
Ergo, someone done goofed.

They shun the gods, true, but that doesn't mean they won't use demonic artifacts.
All it means is no demon princes, no demonic gifts, no magic, etc. I am sure there is a way.

Be patient for the Night lords themed army. We haven't seen yet the wargear and points costs for chaos lords,
Chosen, raptors, warp talons, chaos bikers. Maybe some new special rules. Neither the dark apostle.
We can make a pretty decent NIght lords theme army IMO. Keep calm and praise the lord of the night!

Tzeentch still sucks... for more books in a row than I would care to count. It's amazing that they actually managed to nerf his psy powers. His vehicle upgrade and unit Icon are useless, with an actual worth of maybe 2 points per unit (and I know they won't cost that little). No way to build anything even remotely resembling Rubric Termies. Of course, the rest are in the same boat here, but at least they have other perks. Slaanesh players rejoice, best psy list and FNP icon!

Yeah! thats what I am seeing. Why does everything have to be upgrades by chaos gods? Could they have upgrades that would tailore to other armys that are "Chaos?"

I mean Alpha Legion, Iron Warriors Kinda got something, Word Bearers they made out pretty well fluff wise, Night Lords..... I really see nothing that contributes to Night Lords or Alpha.

These are two of some of the more popular "undergroung hobbiest" armies. I have see people really put there heart and soul into modling these types of armies. They are so cool and have such freaken awesome back stories. Arguably the best back stories. Very easy to argue that point.

Now i dont have the codex, but from what we see in the OP, nothing contributes that much to non-god centric armies (that we can see)

And Night Lords are not a jump back army. I dont know where people got that notion. Yes they have raptors and they are super bada$$. But you cant slap jumppacks on the army and be like "yay night lords" Well you could but I mean, gosh...

Well, Slaanesh has been neglected for a while. There are a few threads on Dakka that generally follow the lines of "why does no one like Slaanesh."

Tzeentch's powers aren't that horrible. The primaris power is pretty nasty against hordes and MSU, and the bolt of corruption is just hilarious.

These are just a glimpse of the rules, so there might be Rubric Termies.

Though really, I'd be more pissed off (provided if I were a chaos player) if Ahriman didn't have access to Divination.

Hang on a sec, *puts on shining white plate mail*

Firstly, it's hardback, which no magazine is (to my knowledge, anyway), secondly, it's far better bound and constructed, so it'll stand up to more wear and tear, and thirdly, unlike most magazines, it isn't predominantly advertising, I think the only thing you could really call advertising are the model pictures, but they usually only take up five or six pages anyway.

And, not that it'll make you feel any better, but, it's a new army release, that's as good an excuse for a price rise as any.

One day unfortunately, the rest of the world will have to pay Australian prices, and yea verily, we shall come to the End of Days.

I think the idea that they were Jump Pack army may have originated from the old 3.5 ed dex. I'm not entirely sure, but I think Night Lords could ignore that 0-1 restriction on the raptors.
So what are Night Lords then if not a Jump Army?

There's been at least one, if not 2 recent BL books which have Oblits. firing assault cannons and solid slug weaponry once again, so I do believe this.

I believe the plasma cannon is still an option however,

Yeah it's nice that Chaos got an update, but we don't need to thank GW for churning out such a divisive aesthetic that is cringe-worthy in places. Especially after the fantastic work done on Necrons and Dark Eldar. New rules are enough for me personally, I just think they were way off target with the kits they released. The Supply doesn't fit the player Demand, so perhaps GW should listen to what people want.

Also how many magazines can you hold on to and get use out of for 5 years?

I would compare it more to a text book than an magazine.

Still failing to see why everyone is making these comparisons and saying that it sucks? Almost everything the minis have been compared to is pure awesomesauce. Also we have see them from a grand total of like 2 angles. I still have no idea what they look like from the top, back and sides.
