But can't anyone take that icon? It is just an icon that is not limited by the marks, right?
Not that undivided needs anything extra. Those undecided flip-floppers don't deserve it.
Personally I'd like to see somer sort of a bonus for running a mono-god army, as that is the fluffy way to go, but in the end probably weaker than freely mixing the units.

I'd disagree with this, especially when it comes to cult units. If you try to build a list on the cult units of more than one God, then that means taking more than one Lord, which you may not want to do. And so on, things like that. I think certain mono-God (namely Slaanesh and Nurgle) are probably the best ways to build a list.
But to each their own I guess.

It does...but the table is much better. As well it does not become crazed unitl it takes a glance/pen and looses a hull point.

1. Fire Frenzy...shoot twice at unit that caused crazed, if not closest enemy
2. Recover shaken/stunned, Rage
3. Recover Shaken/Stunned, Rage/Rampage?, must try to assault, if cannot, then must run.

I personally think that certain mono-god builds can be really powerful if played right! I mean take for instance the Epedimus CSM list! Give everybody MoN rack up 20 kills and watch your opponent cry!
Depending on how some of these units mesh together with certain marks, I think there is the distinct possibility of seeing more mono-god lists. Obviously Abbadon will be in town though and he will probably be the "better" choice at first glance for an HQ. But I could still see Ahriman, Typhus and even Kharn and Fabius rolling around the table to good effect! I'd love it if Huron got a little tougher so I'd have a real reason to play him, but if not oh well. In my mind it all depends on the (dare I say) synergy of the units with the same marks.

Sure, taking more than one type of cult units might not effective, but mixing marks probably is. Mark of Khorne or Slaanehs is good for assault units, while units that just camp objectives and shoot are better served by a mark of Nurgle or Tzeentch.
Mind, you, I'm not goint to do that, but I still recognise that being able to mark each unit according to their role would be an advantage.
Of course, with Tzeench and Nurgle you suffer little by marking all your units with a single mark. Increased resilience is always beneficial, wheras marks of Khorne and Slaanesh have only use for close combat, thus being more limiting.

Wow you need to glue the toes on the new raptors...and the hands or fingers... Awesome pack but I am sure a PITA to assemble, each guy will be up to 17 pieces in some cases from what I saw LOL!
But lovely models none the less.

But that chaos might have a decisive combat advantage to exploit. Obviously, any solid list requires oodles of shooting, and 40k is shooting based. But chaos, if able to smash gk in combat, and they bring enough back up firepower, could properly employ these abilities in order to regularly win games.
I know you weren't, I was just saying. However there's nothing in the Chaos army I'd comfortably throw at some Grey Knights in combat, bar a very large unit of Berserkers, but given their new rules I don't see them being taken all that often anymore.
Rivet wrote:So do we have any rumors about the second wave yet?
It's always my belief that second waves are usually the creation of 'rumour mongers' who are more into making lots of guesses on the basis that anything they are wrong about they can chalk it up to a second wave. You'll notice the pattern when new rumours come out, about how apparently half the models in the range are coming out, just they'll be split over two waves. Simply put, safe guesses and a fail-safe; most of these second waves don't happen.
Griever wrote:Only three plastic kits seems quite low for a Codex release.
4 plastic kits, and actually that's average for a Codex update. People are just too used to total rewrites as the last 3 codices released were total redo's from codices that were over a decade old.
I won't count the Aspiring Champion kit, it's for one model and why the hell would I spend $20 on an Aspiring Champion when you get all the bits to make one in the other plastic sets.

Yeah this is what I am holding out for as well. I love the Chosen from the starter set and I am going to be getting 2 sets of them to switch around weaponry and whatnot but there's only so much you can do! I do love the Aspiring Champion model and plan on getting at least one of those as well. Worst case scenario they never come out with one in which case I will definitely be using the torsos, shoulder pads, and arms from the Raptor/Warp Talon. And honestly I wouldn't mind too much, I plan on using the legs from the possessed kit in conjunction with the bodies for some really creepy mutated Marines. Also I just realized how ridiculous Ahriman is going to be since he can use 3 Witchfire powers a turn. 3 Tzeentch's Firestorms for 3 large BS5 blasts (granted it's Str D6+1 AP-), plus 1 Doombolt. Even Terminators are going to start falling apart after all that!

Not that I am aware of. And experience (Daemon wave half a year before Codex) also speaks against it.
But they try to release all new units within half a year or so, because of their fear of small companies robbing them sales.
Plastic Dreadnought/Hellbrute thingy has been seen (not the DV one). Not sure how reliable rumours on new Legion specific units are.

Would just like to say that I'm a math hammer player and no math hammer player would EVER try that.

Exactly, you would take the sure thing with no overwatch, which is to run and set up a turn two charge. I am actually the guy who posted this idea, but I was only demonstrating how a turn one assault was plausible in response to another post that said it was in fact impossible. That said, I would never pull that kind of bull myself personally, BUT it is important to realize that these tricks do in fact exist so you don't get caught with your proverbial pants down. DE players have done this trick with their raiders for editions now, and again I don't like the idea and I don't use it when playing my DE, but it exists and to no fault of savvy players so a seasoned player should be aware of it. To me it is more of an issue with the games deign itself then the players who find these tricks. I don't think you can cover everything in the rules, but yet again, this is why players should stay informed IMO. Automatically Appended Next Post: mauzer wrote:-.- The oval base does not let you move extra, that's cheating, and this has already been discussed to hell when the trygon model came out.

8000 points of XI Legion the Space Vagabonds, they can adapt their tactics to represent any and every Legion and Chapter as needed because they were created by the Emperor to be the ultimate tactical power. They have faked their disappearance in order to infiltrate every part of the conflicts in the galaxy.
8000 points of Tau/Craftworld Eldar/Necron because the Space Vagabonds can also emulate their wargear and tactics.
Victories: ALL
Losses: NONE (My armies have the psychic ability to conjure a cataclysmic storm whenever they are about to lose. This allows the Space Vagabonds to teleport away while releasing power waves that destroys the battlefield and so every battle is a victory)

Except it isn't cheating. You are allowed deploy in your deployment zone, you allowed deploy fcacing whatever way you want, and in your movement phase you are allowed pivot your model. Where in these rules does it state it as cheating?
It isn't even gaming rules to be possible, it just is.

not to as much of an effect as, say, an Oval Base model or a Land Raider. Or Raider.
