Well, thanks again everyone  now i'm keen to plan the next one! so, any ideas or thoughts i'd love to hear from you, anything we can do differently? ideas for themes etc? should it be yearly or bi yearly?
and I also want to offer my heartfelt thanks to the other judges who helped me through hosting my first comp  Gits (the voice of reason) Vel'cona (the exhuberant youth) Kitch (well, nothing really can explain Kitch..  ) I really appreciate you all taking the time to wade through the 21 entrants and spend your own time with the rather lengthy voting process! it did seem to work very well and the results being so close attested to that if any of you are willing and able (if you didn't go insane) to judge again or not let me know
I am taking young Mr Gitsplitta's advice and i'm posting up the judging criteria so you can see how many points etc. and what we had to decide upon for each mini
Build: (out of 100)
- Quality of build (i.e neatness) - 20 points
-Adherence to theme - 20 points
-Conversion/kitbashing - 30 points
-Pose of mini - 30 points
Painting: (out of 100)
-Neatness - 25 points
-Advanced techniques - 25 points
-Overall effect - 50 points
Basing: (out of 50)
-Theme/Appropriateness to mini - 10 points
-Build/ Customization - 10 points
-Painting - 10 points
-Effect with figure - 20 points
Overall impression: How pleasing finished mini is to the eye (out of 50)
And that's it we gave points to each section and then added them up to give a total from 300, then i added each score together for every mini and that's how we found our winner!

I like that judging system. Would it be possible to show the score for each entry? I suppose it'd work as feed back for nearly everyone, see where they can improve for the next time.

 Hmmmm sorry guys and gals! I chucked the results after I posted them  and really the only thing i can suggest where a few fell short was basing, didn't need to be elaborate but good colour contrast could help next time? and i do expect you all to enter next time!
any more ideas for next time?

If anyone is interested, I'd be willing to discuss my opinion of your entry via PM. I don't want to get into numbers because out of context I don't think there's much to be gained there, but I'd be happy to discuss the strong and weak points of your entry & give suggestions for improvement.
